Another run of Final Fantasy Adventure, but this time it's the whole game without any warps.
Watch MattyXB defeat the evil Dark Lord and others using the "Power" option for every level-up, and glitching out the game where possible.
It's easier to follow the story in this run, but still tricky at times because both main characters were named "A".

This is a run of Pulseman that aims for fastest time without using the motion bug. This adds many minutes to the run but makes it easier to follow and allows the author to show off the game's rich variety of levels and optimization strategies.
For a movie that aims for the fastest time with no restrictions, see the any% run.

This is a non-glitched run of Dragon Warrior 3, now under 2 hours long.
This game is known in the TAS world as being a pain to play due to the RNG being much harder to manipulate than most other games. As a result, seemingly random actions throughout the game are actually intentional manipulation of the RNG to ensure favorable outcomes, such as avoiding monsters or good battle outcomes.
To give you an idea of how surprising this time is to most players, the previous run is about 24 minutes longer than this one. Even before that, any run that was under 3 hours long was deemed to be very difficult to perform.

Metroid II: Return of Samus is the second game in the Metroid series, taking place immediately after the events of the NES Metroid. Samus arrives at the planet SR388 to exterminate all metroids and eventually succeeds.
This movie by Cardboard puts the Spring Ball and Spider Ball to great use to compensate for the lack of items, and achieves victory in the shortest time possible.
This is a 69 second improvement over the author's previous movie. The in-game time is 43 minutes.
Note: This movie does not use secret worlds, also known as "the select glitch".

A non-glitched run of the black sheep in the Zelda series, shortened by about 18 seconds.
The major change in this submission is the leveling of magic over attack in the first part of the game. Other time saved was due to various scattered improvements.
This movie avoids pressing Left and Right at the same time which causes an acceleration bug that can massively glitch the game.
This movie has an Atlas Map encode of the Great Palace, which shows the standard encode overlaid on a zoomed out map.

PHOTOSENSITIVITY WARNING: Many moments in this game contain intense flashing lights, such as during boss fights and whenever the player dies. This may cause epileptic seizures to those affected.

Full completion of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Both this run and the short version use a wobbling trick in order to make Link walk a bit faster. The execution of this maneuver requires the usage of a controller that allows the player to press Up+Down simultaneously (such as, in this case, a modified Snes9x's controller). The traveling-through-walls trick that is seen in the short version is not used.
This run features an improvement of a little over 4 minutes.

Although newcomers to TASVideos's player list, Taco and Kriole are both experienced TASers in regards to Super Metroid, this time having teamed up in a mission to perfect one of the most contested games in the site's history.
Using a new route and taking advantage of several techniques, never demonstrated before in other Super Metroid runs outside of waiting areas, they made short work of Mother Brain and her space pirates. The in-game completion time is 23 minutes 29 seconds, and 18% of the items have been collected. Thus, both the realtime and the in-game any% movies were obsoleted. (The in-game time category has since been improved to beat this run in in-game time, although not real time.)
Note: The actual rerecord count in this run is unknown. Please read the authors' submission notes and the discussion thread for more information.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is an updated version of an older GB game which adds color, an additional dungeon, various other minor features, and a lot of bug fixes. Link, after rescuing Hyrule (again?), sets off on a journey and subsequently shipwrecks on the mysterious Koholint Island, which has been overtaken by evil monsters which he must defeat in order to find a way back home.
Through a wide variety of glitches and general optimizations, this is now almost ten minutes faster than the previous full run of this game.
This run does not make use of a form of warp glitching, but still demonstrates that they obviously didn't fix as many bugs as they thought.
This movie has a full Atlas Map encode, which shows the standard encode overlaid on a zoomed out map.

In this game, the player controls Juste Belmont, one of the later descendants of the Belmont clan. The goal of the game, as usual for Castlevania games, is to defeat Dracula in his castle. Along the way, some bosses are beaten, and some abilities and items are obtained. Furthermore, to obtain the best ending, Juste is supposed to acquire all of Dracula's remains and Maxim's bracelet.
In this branch, the author forgoes the "wall-sinking" glitch (used in this movie) which would allow Juste to warp to far-away places. Thus, this movie shows off more of the game.
We also have movies featuring the unlockable character Maxim, with wall-sinking or without.
