Just put gui.box(0,0,320,224,"black","black") before gui.gdoverlay().

In fact, the thing that changed in 2.0 is state size of Genesis. It was 144KB, now it's around 800KB of core data. State gap became bigger, previously it was 1 frame (resulting in states every other frame. Now it's 12, with state every 13th frame. The time it takes to save each state is likely what causes your slowdown. To skip unnecessary input roll updates, you can turn on turbo seek and turn off follow cursor. And make the emu window smaller. I'd be interested in how much each of these changes helps you.

It's impossible to get a blurry image with a lossless codec if you're watching it at native resolution.

Not only resolutions above 1080p on youtube have noticeable less compression artifacts, but if you watch 4k video on 1080 monitor it looks noticeable sharper and cleaner than same video at 1080p. It's better to have those resolutions even for 2D games, in my opinion ofc, because there noticeable difference edit: http://i.imgur.com/Uz7DPyC.png here it is. Both screenshots made at 1080 monitor with my lame encode. First made at 4k youtube replay and second second at 1080p replay. Both zoomed x8 with nearest neighbor. You can clearly see the difference. I can't see why not to have 4k encode if there is noticeable difference even at 1080 monitor. If you have 4k encode watcher can choose what he/she wants. Maybe someone wants more sharpness and clearness of the picture. Why not to have this?
Please compare these 2 encodes in all corresponding resolution modes: https://youtube.com/watch?v=Ti63lPB--u0 https://youtube.com/watch?v=od-Q2PMjDeQ EDIT: Well I did that myself. Internal aspect ratio correction    (avisynth), 224p x6, pic taken from 1440p 1080p 720p External aspect ratio correction (mkvmerge), 224p x8, pic taken from 1440p 1080p 720p Internal ARC looks definitely sharper at 1440p, at lower res they look equally shitty to me.

Report this bug I guess? Same thing in that one. So I just add A at line 193416 and use that as a replacement and encode?

That movie doesn't enter the credits. Jee, what so hard about letting the viewers see them in full?

I'm not so sure about which should be preferred here since the game is unofficial by its nature, and its use of English seems to be as proficient as this: #4506: Noxxa's GBA Digimon Sapphire in 31:59.40 So while it's "their own", it's still arbitrary. I personally like the current name, but I guess by our rules we need it to be Emo Dao instead.

I agree with Moth on the subject.
20:50 <Mothrayas> the file should be replaced with one that *only* enters the credit, without input afterwards
So please bear with us and post such file, if we have it as a submission and also as an encode, it'd be best.

You don't really have to repeat everything twice.

I think these dialogs are up to the author to include, just like the decision to either reach the ending asap or end the movie that still leads to the ending asap. What I'm absolutely sure about is that skipping credits is bad. Anyway, final time here doesn't mean too much anyway, once the viewers understand the way it's measured for a particular game. You don't have to go out of your way to serve of one's ignorance.

How is stopping at the save screen any worse than stopping at the next screen? Neither is part of the TAS, neither matters, neither needs to be in the encode. I don't see any meaning in getting to the screen where the character endlessly stands in one place, let alone skipping credits just to show that screen faster. Is there any serious reasoning not to replace the movie with one that only gets to the credits asap, other than feelings?

There's at least 2 runs published where since the credits cannot be skipped, and there's a very short dialogue at the end, they're forced to include it into the run.
Why do you say they are forced?

I'd prefer a system identical to IMDB's. You can put integers 1-10, and the result has the fractional part. People are used to that system, and to TAS movies having 10 integers, so it should be fine. Problems come from having 2 separate ratings for each movie and also manual fractional part, becoming 200 ways to vote instead of 10.
