Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I commented out the BG collision hitbox. If it's inside the block with it's first corner, you will be stuck for 1 frame. Jump so that your hitbox beginning is outside that block. It isn't possible on that wall platform, since corners seem to stick you for a frame as well, and you don't have enough room to go past it with your hitbox. Updated script that shows the hitbox, and also the bits of your BG collision state. http://pastebin.com/Qv7hXviv

"Obsolete specified branch." is ok, now let it count how many users think this one is more entertaining than that one.

Powerups require using the sword outside boss rooms. And a run with them would look just similar to the any%. Se here we go for more variety over it, and for more clean pacifist concept. EDIT: While resyncing your improvements (that are hilarious), I got stuck at nearly every other tyson, because they changed their behavior. And you know what? I must debug this crap to understand what they really depend on.

Yeah, this. It's hardly the first case that a newer run is faster but shows less of the gameplay than an existing run. That generally results in obsoletion of the slower run; I fail to see why this is suddenly a problem here.
The trick this run uses (arbitrary code) is not pulled out to its maximum (as it is in the any% run). So this needs to be entertaining enough to obsolete the existing '11 exit' branch. This sumission got some Moon-ish votes, and decent feedback, but how many people honestly think that this run is more entertaining than the existing "11 exits" one? If it loses to the latter by entertainment, it can't obsolete it. And it's not a vaultable category either.

Well, it goes OoB then after a while falls down and keeps walking into a wall randomly opening and closing GameBoy, then Continue menu, and more running into a wall. Is it all intended? Can you tell after what frame it comes to something "normal"? Will run it myself again though...

Managed to run after switching to D3D renderer, but the verification movie desyncs after beating the baby. I was using the stable 4.0.2 version. Is dirty some interim build? Those interim builds don't work on my 32-bit system despite of being called "Dolphin-x86". Which exact one did you use? Also, what ROM checksum?

How can you prove your ROM is not hacked, sir?

Relax guys, TAS Pro was just an April joke. When the site moved to DeHackEd's home server we even could get rid of google ads and stopped asking for donations. For now, I don't even know if it's at all possible to donate. But hell, no one is seriously going to restrict anything for those who didn't pay, or provide anything better than what's already there for those who pay.

It's not playing the game. It's executing arbitrary code. You can still beat it by executing it, and the fastest way to do it is already published. You can also refuse to beat it, and it's also published. Introduce yet another example of what can be done with it? Nah. It's too not unique, too similar to what we already have, and is in no way better than the existing 11 exit run. The latter can't be obsoleted by speed by this run, because this one doesn't play any of the levels, and it can't be obsoleted by entertainment because of the same thing. But as a joke run, it's perfect. It's once again pushing the system to its limits in all different ways. I voted no on the movie, but I love the execution.

Arcade Neo Turf Masters (JPN) "maximum score" in 13:06.05 by mamuuuut
This run by mamuuuut plays the toughest course (Australia) and aims to get the lowest (best) final score while showing off unusual or unexpected paths.
Am I the only one seeing contradiction,

Looks like lsnes really needs some symbolic debugging/tracing.

Loved it! Presents intense action, yet it's quite clear what's happening. Looks like a total domination over the game and can be good for uninitiated. I'd give it above 8 for entertainment.

No need to sorry :) We will always be glad to see you improving your skills and posting WIPs at where I described in your other submission thread.

It's OK guys, as I said it was my first TAS and I just wanted to learn how to use the tools (even if I didn't use everything). When I finish it I asked myself "why not suggest it on TASvideo ?" but I shall understand if you refuse it.
That's why we always suggest to use userfiles to host movies and game forums to post them, if they are not meant as perfectly polished work. That way one doesn't meet rejection, and still gets quite some feedback, and a good setup to post improvements and get feedback on them too, all that before submitting.

In this case, a "demo" is similar to having the shareware (free) version of a game instead of the full (paid) version. By precedent, we already allow runs like that, and I see no reason to disqualify this one just because it's a "demo".

Even if we change the existing movie's name to "playaround", it can be obsoleted by a run that looks fairly similar and is more entertaining, even from the other branch. People here didn't spot out too much difference between the 2 runs. And recalling how much excitement the other run generated, I'd consider this submission losing to it by the entertainment value. It's faster, and it gets more score, but it's another course and also is less entertaining... Sounds to me like not a reason enough to publish one more branch. I'm leaning towards rejection. Each course needs a branch? I don't think so, since they will anyway be a bit similar. If someone strongly disagrees, elaborate, why we must have both.

Oh crap, Dolphin 4.0.2 keeps crashing on my system, can't run any game... Won't be able to verify this TAS.
