I'd be amazed too. I understand that nesvideos was transformed into tasvideos, but why do you have this prehistoric info then?

It's not clear for me. If we consider this game as a hack of PS1 version that was ported to SNES, it will be rejected because it doesn't suit Moon category, right?

I want to speedrun a pirate game called Mortal Kombat Mythologies Gold 2000 that was developed by chinese. Longplay is here (42 mins).
I don't know which version to use. The version shown above misses a few bosses, enemies and some stage hazards (as longplayer says), so it allows me to complete the game faster. But, there is another version which was fixed by funs and the missing content seems to be presented there. The game's battle system is odd, so, the more enemies I have to kill, the more boring TAS will be.
Which version should I use?

Here is my final video where I almost complete mission 2. The footage was recorded on the 20th of September. I had it mounted just today.

Sure, but, to be frank, I was just enjoying your TAS. I found a pair of moments with possible improvements, but they are nothing across the entire TAS. "Who cares?" - I would say. These games are too complex to fight for every frame and complete each section for several times.

I read somewhere that it's possible to include the memcard at the start of the movie. It's actual for GC TASing, right?
No, but I tried some third person shooters, like RE4, Dead Rising and Trigger Man. Also tried The House of the Dead: Overkill, but it's a rail shooter. I'm interested in TASing Serious Sam: Next Encounter, but I can't find a memory card with all levels completed to test glitches shown in 1st and 2nd encounter speedruns and build the TAS route.
The problem is the movement, especially in a game like Red Steel. It's so complex to follow the shortest routes!

I'm out of ideas. Dolphin seems to read the memory card, but, when I playback the input file, I create a new profile again and give it a saveslot, whatever if I delete Wii folder from DolphinEmulator or not.
Even if it works, my verification movie will also get out of sync somewhere at the beginning
This franchise is beyond our influeince for now =)

About a month ago, I got a wish to TAS a first person shooter, but finding a short one was tricky. I stopped at Red Steel because it has the most classic style of gameplay: a simple hallway shooter where you go from point A to point B.
Besides shooting, there are sword duels where you dance with your Wiimote. They are crappy, but simple.

The game is not popular at all. Most videos are in 480p or even 360p and have not many views, so the future TAS won't attract much people, only if you want to beat another game.
I've already TASed first 3 missions and a small part of 4th, but the movie desyncs by the end of mission 2. The playback isn't correct even if you load it from a savestate, so it's not possible to TAS the whole game well.
The game has plenty of loading screens and unskippable cutscenes, so the whole TAS may take more than 2 hours.

Here is my input file: User movie #49973328122807715. If you have much time, you can try to play it back.
No major glitches were used though they would sighnificantly accelerate the TAS. I tried to find something, but got only this:

Seems like it's possible to clip a single wall. I can't go in-bounds from the other side or shoot someone.
Anyway, it's something like a warning topic. Let's wait for a better TASing tools in Dolphin.

Was messing around. Hun's spawn is predictable. I could kill the mobs even faster.
In my fail-case, if I jumped earlier, Hun would jump too, that is not acceptable for me. So, I spent a moment to make him approach. Another fail: he hits the ground, but it's still better than jumping. Nevertheless, I could hit him only 3 times before the car bumps him. An axe would be a better weapon here.
The second jump was made to make him fall at the car. If I hit him faster, he makes a flip and avoids the bump.
You'll find more of these cases during the whole TAS. I just let you know that I did the best available strategies. Well, excepting few.

I read that in wiki, but missed it in mind. Well, at least libTAS provides savestates for those games that doesn't have them if you want to complete a difficult event in a game while a regular walkthrough though I don't think it will work.

The newer console is TASed, the more desyncs you get. Dolphin emulates GameCube and Wii just briliantly and offers the needed tools for TASing. Why do so many games throw desyncs at us? Most doesn't work as planned. I have doubts the savestates is the only problem we face.

By my small experiece I can say it's possible to go OOB if you have the right speed and angle. These clips are something like "sliding" along the wall that allow to get inside some edges.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not. It's possible to bypass the clip if you have found the position and angle, but decided to get back a little in order to get a better run-up. Maybe it depends on lags, who knows!

Done.
Not that much. All characters excepting Splinter have time-based stages where you play until the time is over, or stages where you have time to mess around waiting for the main enemy to spawn. So, the highlight about speed/entertainment tradeoffs still remeains. I also tried to make trainings entertaining too (1-2 stages after performing combos given below), especially for characters with bad combo sets.
If I complete Dojos, Shredders' Palaces and Back Alleys with 1-on-1 objectives by using a single combo (fastest time), I'd improve about 20 secs. About 15 secs can be improved if I correct my mistakes, and about 50 secs by better manipulations if I successfully perform the fastest strategies to kill the crowds (not 1 by 1).
You decision will be fair anyway. The case is, I'm not going to TAS this game ever again and I doubt anybody will take it. It's not a game worth spending time on TASing and this community is stuck in ancient games! I just took the best goal set, so nobody wouldn't ever need to TAS it again, only if someone will ever create a "First 4000" topic.

I'm out of ideas what to do. I've already TAS 7 campigns of 10 and got a headache with 8th. Just watch this!

Who knows this kind of problem? Which tools do publishers use? It may be not critical for them to make an encode or I'm mistaken? All the movie syncs well in native resolution, in 1080p, with antialising, without it. It's the first problem I can't solve. This 8th campign just refuses to be dumped! Neither 1080p nor native resolution handles it.
How it happens that dumping causes desyncs?? Here are my configs.

Not a thing, unfortunately. However, it's still helpful in situations when extra turning would be slower
Difference is simple for games of that era: you have more enemies and they have more health.
