For Super Mario Bros. the TASes end at landing on the axe iirc.

To be fair I'm very lazy at the moment to create my own gif to be dead on the money. But I did provide the link to the ~11 seconds by referencing the -3 TAS that is an FDS TAS. I'll probably switch the gif later in which it'll be more accurate.

Ok, this is the most stupidest point to make out of everything so far. TASes start from Power On. You know what a Famicom has from power on? This: From the gate you have already lost ~11 seconds that you can never recover. Unless you meant the -3 Ending that's already obsoletes the well... negative loop and is a different topic entirely.

The AGDQ 2018 games submission committee has asked us to submit TAS content. They have specifically asked us to focus on highly entertaining (and reasonably short or otherwise varied) content, and they have specifically asked us to avoid focusing on technical shenanigans for this event. Console verification is preferred where possible but not required meaning running TAS's in an emulator is acceptable for this event (although playing back videos is not acceptable). Good, practiced commentary is a must and having the authors of the run present is considered a bonus.

[1546] NES Gimmick! "100%" by Aglar & Hotarubi in 07:44.45 I need to point out one major thing that I have against this TAS. It needs to be updated before we actually consider it due to the glitches and newer tech that was found for it last year (or was it a year before). [2317] SNES Kaizo Mario World 3 by ISM, Mister in 17:11.23 Human > Bot Basically for the whole "Hold on to your butts," deal. [2966] GB Trip World by MUGG in 05:10.91 What beeping? [2994] GC Super Monkey Ball "Expert through Master" by byrz, CyclopsDragon in 12:55.18 Yes, second the craziness known as Monkeys in Balls going Super Sonic all over the place. [3350] Arcade Osman by xy2_ in 06:36.77 How dare you not bias properly! The correct way to bias is to grab the most ridiculous TAS that you've ever made and request it. Like s-- Oh... half my TASes are because the game itself is ridiculous... Carry on.

Seeing as TASVideos will be 15 years old next year (December) take this as more of a pitch for SGDQ18 than AGDQ18. The legacy TAS re-synced from Famtasia to Console: [668] NES Super Mario Bros. 3 "warps" by Morimoto in 11:03.95

I'm going to be reiterating my point again (and extending it cause fsvgm and Warepire aren't online). This is only one circuit out of all the circuits so again... This feels like a bum-rush when we have other racers that completes everything milking it dry. My vote will most likely be Meh once again... as once again this only completes a single circuit. Scratch that. My vote is No. You're aiming for second place again. I'd rather watch the Mario Kart TASes than watch this cause they actually get first.

As long as you make sure to upload it to your userfiles and not create a submission.

Please review the movie rules (particularly "The movie must be good") and Guidelines to see what kind of optimization level we expect from a submission for site publication.
And like the one I'm quoting this also has inappropriate timing for input ending... for a SMB TAS... late. So time can be shaved on input ending too besides the large amount dedicated to starting input. One of these games we don't recommend TASing for a newcomer is Mario Bros. it's a highly technical game... which shows as it has been TASed to death. It's also recommended to get a ROM that doesn't have two other games behind it.

Besides the ~1100 frames of blank input, which drops this to a 05:43.37. (Give and take as SMB TASes end at Axe Grab) Your time is absolutely destroyed by another submission that's in the workbench currently which also uses the PAL version: #5617: HappyLee's NES Super Mario Bros. "PAL" in 04:55.16 This TAS won't get far to begin with. Abstaining.

And here's where I would provide single screen alt encodes with the red as second video choice... But I made a major mistake that I noticed after deleting the encodes (before you merge it). So whoops... and coming soon™.

Sorry to burst your bubble. There are 4 versions of Mario Bros: American/Japanese FDS known as Kaettekita Mario Bros. European/Australia German known as Mario Bros. Classic Serie Classic Serie is an enhanced version on Kaettekita with more and it's goal is to be more faithful to the original Arcade version compared to the other 3 versions. The true Euro/Aus version cannot be TASed as they are 1:1 with the US/JPN version with no difference besides a refresh rate. Edit: User movie #40749942477359099

You spelt "Falling into the Ground being a completely new glitch that doesn't exist on the NTSC version" wrong. Flagpole means jack in this situation as it isn't the main glitch.
