I love making TASes, but as my parents hate Windows, I can only make them half as much as I could be. So could one of the programmers on this site please implement rerecording, slowmotion, and savestates into one of the emulators for Mac? Which one doesn't matter much, though the NES would be easy to do.

Mupen! Mupen! Mupen! Of course I kid. I'd recommend SNES9X, because it is the only emulator that seems to get equal treatment by each platform. I just updated my emulator collection for my G5 last night, and it was the only one that shared a link with this site (other than VBA, which seems to be behind the times on macs). There is no FCE ultra for macs, but if it is indeed easier to code for the NES, NEStopia or RockNES would probably be your best bet, although I'm not sure if the source code is available for either one.

Wait, isn't it possible to compile the emulator on MacOS right from the source?

It's also four words that don't work for people "still" using computers with PPC chips instead of Intel, although it's probably pointless to make anything for PPC since it'll probably be phased out in another 3 or 4 years, if not sooner:(

I'm not a programmer, but this request sounds like it's a lot harder than you might think. The emulator would have to be ported from one of the emulators already acceptable for use on this site. The emulation timing and key input files would have to be perfectly compatible. These two things are asking for a lot. If you can't use an emulator through Boot Camp or something similar, then, I'm sorry, you'll just have to live with it.

Did some research, and the developer website says it can be compiled under OS X, so I guess that means it does exist in a way. I've just used macupdate, which had no mention of it. I stand corrected.

The problem is, my parents hate windows so much they won't even use Bootcamp to run it. That's the thing. Also, I think Snes9x can run the videos from this site on it.

I have had mixed results playing runs on snes9x for mac. Some worked all the way through, some failed right at the start. It's pretty hit and miss. You can run linux if need be.

boot camp means like 1 extra click at the beginning, so install it anyway, or ask for your own computer. Don't Dells sell for like $300?

If he has a fairly recent version of MacOS X it should be possible to compile basically any unix program, so in theory it should be possible. (I don't know if Snes9x has been ported natively to OS X. If that's the case, then it's better to use that binary, of course.)

I'm not a nerd. I mean, I'm a nerd, but not programming-wise. Could you tell me how to do that?

Well, first you should of course check with google if someone has already made a MacOS X version of snex9x. If not, then open the terminal in your system (I don't remember what's called in MacOS X; search for "terminal", "command prompt", "xterm" or similar) and try to run the command "gcc". If it says that it can't find such a program you'll have to install CodeWarrior or another similar compiler suite for MacOS X. (IIRC CodeWarrior "emulates" gcc by putting such commands in the path.) If you succeed in that you'll have to download snes9x's unix sources and then read how to compile it. Most probably "./configure" and then "make". Expect compiler errors. If they happen, tough luck.

I can save you the trouble of finding one, there's one here SNES is one of the most stable and fully functioning emulators for macs I've found, I remember playing through Chronotrigger a lot on my old iBook back in high school (over 5 years ago).
