Did you read? Yes, they threatened oo sue, but after the fuss that was raised (including two cover stories on slashdot), they apologized. So, no, they are not suing. Edit: Penny Arcade as well

bob: my "whats up with this" was more a comment to that they sued in the first place. i know they took it back but both actions are imo not normal behaviour regarding those circumstances

They just didn't want their name assosiated with a site like suicide girls. Understandable, but handing out a cease and desist orders for having nintendo games in one the girls profiles is a little bit exessive.

They didn't sue either. That was a cease and desist letter, and said that they would sue if they did not comply. Oh, and you would be suprised at how dumb companies can be. This doesn't surprise me, though I agree that they went way too far.

I allso want a free video game station + free game. :) /me must put up a porn site with members writing about nintendo all over it. *rubs his hands* Geehhehehe. No seriously though. I have seen many stupid law suits like this. For example you could go to www.thepiratbay.com and read some of their experiences with bots etc etc...

At least some people over on /. think it's a hoax. i'm inclined to agree -- it's just a publicity stunt. nothing to see here, move along, move along.

http://static.thepiratebay.org/dreamworks_response.txt Actually, I found this yesterday. I think it might have been in a topic about this incidence. Maybe not. I dunno >_<

I remember an incident where nintendo caused a site to get shut down because the word "pokemon" was in the META TAG. Meta tags, of course, are completely hidden in the html. :|

It doesn't matter. They didn't want the site to appear on search engines when pokemon was searched.

Most search engines place little or no importance on meta tags when ranking pages. However, the main point is that nintendo assumed the site contained pornographic content merely because of its name, which is similar to the case in this topic.
