Well, I absolutely love Digimon. And I came across this Rom. I just finished playing it. in my opinion, it would be an interesting 'aims for highest score' run. Here's a 30 second explanation - Basically, the game is about 'damaging' the opponent. When you 'damage' the opponent, a blue 'ball' appears flying in the air. You have to get more 'balls' than the other opponent. And to keep the opponent from getting balls, you have to avoid getting 'damaged'...It's hard to explain the game, you should try playing it to understand what it is. You get to choose from 7 digimon - Guilmon, Terriermon, Renamon, Veemon, Wormmon, Agumon, and Sukamon (All of them in order. ). I'm in-progress if beating the (I believe) fith battle. Because it's a battle with Impmon. Your thoughts?

I'm not very familar with that game, but if you can't win any time during the battles, you should think about it twice.

Sounds like something that you would just put up to say "hay look I did something shiny!" instead of submitting it. And considering the content of the game — namely the countdown timer and lack of combat options — I highly doubt that it'd get published. That's not to say that it still couldn't prove to be entertaining, but just giving you my 2¢.

Not sure if this is the right place to post it but... Anyway, I came across this thread, and thought I had a try with TASing this game. Unfortunately, I can't seem to think of something entertaining. So I tried the sequel, and came up with a TAS of the first two stage. Since there are 6 battles that are set in time, I decided to do two different battles. The first is simply a playaround while the second attempts to obtain perfect + high-score. Any opinions on which one is better? Should I make a playaround or attempt to get high-score? Or is this game too boring?

Great WIP, jlun2.... As I say, a playaround TAS would be better as you can do any entertaining stuffs. You can collect at least one or a few blue spheres. This is my opinion but: -I think this game is interesting.

I'm only TASing the first one, but i don't think the games deserve 2 separate threads because they're very simple. It has a lot of little tricks, however. My WIP always crashes the emulator and i already lost entertainment opportunities because of it,is there a more stable version of VBA? I'm using VBA-rr-svn480. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/44398595986300625 encode Link to video[/video] beating impmon(skips 1 extra fight) and how fast you beat milleniummon dictates how fast the game ends, the rest is just filler.

From #3714: AlejaKaiser's GBA Digimon Battle Spirit "Enemy don't get any red orb" in 15:11.58
Hello AlejaKaiser, and welcome to TASVideos. Unfortunately, I'm going to reject your movie, for the following reasons: The play doesn't look as optimized as a TAS should be. This is also shown by the low rerecord count. The game doesn't seem to be a good choice for speedrunning, because all opponents except the final boss take the same amount of time. The play doesn't offer a lot of entertainment either, because the player frequently opts to stand still for long periods of time, in far off spaces where the enemy AI fails to reach the player. The playaround in general is lacking entertainment value. It starts from a savestate for no explained reason. For these reasons, I'm rejecting your movie. Better luck next time!
In other words, you should probably try making a playaround for most of the fights, since literally only 1 single area can be improved. Also I made a test WIP thing before here, but it's in vba, and that's becoming deprecated, so you might want to restart it on BizHawk. Good luck!

Link to video These are just fillers and have nothing do with the actual run i'm uploading, just wanted to share cause it's interesting. Link to video I saved a minute and made the fights a little more interesting, but I was mostly interested in how fast i could kill the boss. I already sent the movie in and the tricks used if you want to take a peek at them.

I just noticed something interesting:AgumonEX(Omnimon digivolution) has a really weak flutter jump that isn't documented in any of the FAQs i've seen about this game, too bad he's one of the last unlockables,BlackAgumon and Agumon don't have it at all. It's as interesting as the special version of Guilmon dash attack in the treadmill from Wormmon's stage. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19842 Run was rejected, improvements on the thread.
