So I looked up the MD5 for this game on redump.org, and I assume it's the correct MD5 for the US version. The thing is, my ISO's MD5 does not match the redump.org MD5, and I've downloaded and checked 4 other ISOs of the same version, and they all have the same MD5 (which is not the correct one). Am I to assume that there are no good dumps of this game on the Internet, and, if I had one, anyone who wanted to watch my run who didn't have the game could not watch it?

Mine is d13426a926055be11a8330b27fe231ea. If that's what everything on the internet is, then i'd probably use that, unless you want to dump it and upload it yourself so people can get it.

That's what mine is too. And yes, it looks like every online ISO of the US version of this game has that MD5. I own the game, but my Wii is not modded in any way, and I don't plan on modding it to dump this game since my whole family uses it and it might get messed up (who knows?). OK, well I'll continue on the ISO I have. I hope the judges/everyone else will understand.

Just how much versions of this game are there? CoolKirby, why don't you try dumping your version to see which MD5 it is? Or is there another way to check without dumping the ISO? Edit: Just curious, the site says: Version 1.00 Edition Original, Player's Choice Are there other editions of this game?

Actually, upon further inspection, all of the ISOs I checked seem to be the same dump up for download on many diverse websites. It's weird that no one ever uploaded the correct dump. Is there a quick way to modify a Wii, dump the game, and un-mod it?

You don't even need to mod it to run homebrew. What firmware are you on? Also, i'm dumping mine now.

The firmware is the newest updated version. Also, according to this page, the incorrect MD5 appears to be an error with the old dumping process or a program used for it.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/CleanRip Download that, put the boot.dol on the root of your SD card. Then use smash stack, to run it.

How will I store the dumped GC ISO once it's dumped? Would I need a 2 GB SD card?

That, or you can use a usb flash drive. Or you can even dump it in segments if you need to.

Normally you would be able to just use an exploit to run your program without installing anything, but disc dumping programs require special hardware access, that only the Homebrew Channel can provide. You can install the Homebrew Channel, copy the disc with something like CleanRip, then uninstall the channel and nobody should notice, except Nintendo if you end up having to send the Wii in for repairs. Basically, if the Wii is already out of warranty, there's no real downside to it.

OK, so I install BootMii (Homebrew Channel), then CleanRip, then Smash Stack, then run CleanRip? Is Smash Stack necessary? That wiki page says I must wait 24 hours for the Smash Service files to be deleted.

No, you use SmashStack to install the Homebrew Channel, then run CleanRip from the channel.

Bah, i'm sorry. Cleanrip does indeed require HBC. You'll need to use smash stack to install the hbc, then you can run cleanrip from there. Also, just finished dumping, and i my md5 matches redump's.

No. That only applies if you have those automatically downloaded stages that are available every day, since they can't be deleted. Not sure if nintendo even still does those.

OK, I'll just move Smash Stack and CleanRip to my 2GB SD card, then move my custom Brawl stages to the SD card, then run it, open up CleanRip in HBC and dump the ISO. Is that right?

I believe you need to either delete your custom stages entirely, or move them to your pc. Easiest way is to backup your entire sd card, copy smash stack and bootmii to the sd card, then install the hbc. Then you can copy clean rip, as well as everything you had on it before to the sd card, and then you can dump it.

I figured that would happen. The reason I checked my MD5 today was because I noticed that the health and safety screen took a while to appear. Edit: Um, you deleted that sentence. Never mind.

I'm on the HomeBrew channel, and CleanRip is not showing up. I tried extracting the .dol file into a single folder called "CleanRip", and it still doesn't show up.

It has to be in a folder called "apps" at the root of the SD card, then in its own folder. Also remember to put both the boot.dol file and the meta.xml file in it.
