This was certainly a tough game to do. There was more manipulation of boss luck then I'm willing to admit, especially during the kitchen boss. But I'm very happy with how this turned out.
One thing to note is why I avoid some tokens in the first 3 worlds, this is so I don't trigger a bonus game after each boss. If you collect more than 4 tokens then any boss you complete (besides the last robot boss and the TV boss) will trigger a bonus game to win extra lives. The cutscene takes about 10-15 seconds so it’s just faster to slow down and avoid collecting any tokens.
world 1
1-1
very straight forward, just going right until you get to the end. Each level end has a long jump where you want to land on the missing letters of “Clockwork Knight” to recieve an extra life, but we don't want that since it wastes time, so we just don't jump there.
1-2
one thing that's different here compared to the last submission is we go for a shortcut instead of the usual level end. these are much faster than the normal level end.
1-3
the first boss in the game, I have to jump over him to attack from behind. and I also stand on the right side of the hat when his head pops up so it travels to the left, this ends the boss faster.
World 2
2-1
just going to the right until the end, nothing real special
2-2
normally an auto-scroller where you stand on the train the entire tome, but you can actually skip the train entirely by jumping on all the platforms. I also avoid collecting that last token to I don't trigger the bonus after the next boss.
2-3
there's a glitch called the "infinite footballer” glitch where basically if you jump at the right angle while holding an enemy, you can keep hitting the robot without breaking the enemy in your hand. this makes for a quick 2 cycle kill.
World 3
3-1
nothing special here again.
3-2
when you start moving on slippery floors, you can jump to instantly get up to speed, as running normally causes you to run in place for a bit.
3-3
probably the toughest boss I've ever had to deal with. there's a small chance you can hit the boss right before the pot returns, this causes the boss to fall over again. however a side effect to this is the collision on the pot doesn't go away, so it's moving back and forth on the same plane as the char. if you see me jumping for seemingly no reason, that's why.
Another thing is the position of the boss. When you knock him over, the pot goes into the background and has to touch both sides of the wall before returning, I can manipulate the boss to be on the far end of the screen so the pot has to take the longest route before returning, this makes me able to get so many hits on him than normal.
World 4
4-1
there's a glitch I perform where I can use invincibility frames to clip into a falling ceiling, allowing me to skip waiting for the ceiling to come back up.
4-2
another secret exit. we want to throw a candle bomb upwards to reveal a key that will open a door for us, where we can get another key to open the next door. ending the stage.
4-3
(epileptic warning here by the way.)
I get under the boss to make him hit the ground he was on to force him downwards faster. I then take his head and throw it upwards. I also discovered that you can clip up to the boss to consistently do damage before he can do damage to you.
TV
not a hard boss at all. all we have to do here is hit his arms off when they come then push pencils into his face.
<And so on>
I would like to thank a few people:
Mitjitsu, for doing the previous TAS of this game (which unfortunately got rejected due to the wrong bios)
AlaskanEmily, the WR holder and who's run showed me some of the shortcuts.
ThunderAxe31, for help running this game and overall being a bro.
I hope you all enjoy this.
ThunderAxe31: This movie is well optimized and uses all the known tricks.
The relatively fast pace and the tricks used kept the movie overall enjoyable, and the audience agrees.
Accepting for Moons.
