Well, it is nice to see even despite your half year or so break, you're the same old dashjump when it comes to productivity once you get going! Not got time to do a full watch now, but grats on finishing this. I've been eagerly anticipating this as I'm sure you have guessed!

So now the hundo is compete Dashjump, I'm just wondering how many strats you would change if you were under some sort of new game plus conditions, while still grabbing the chao. i.e all teams are available/ Sonic isn't required as lead in the act3s where characters are unlocked. It's always been a question in the back of mind; there are some obvious (At least I assume!) ones like Knux/Amy in Sunset Hill 3. But your pointing out in the very first map on your submission notes that there's a Knux only breakable block in R99 3 made me wonder if there were some slightly obscure team combos could save time in the earlier zones if they were available. Anyway as to add some content to the post that isn't just to satisfy my curiosity; Dashjump recently posted a updated any% run of TS2 thats worth a watch. Link to video

That's an interesting idea which I can consider uploading as IL videos instead of a full run. I may consider trying Route 99 2 as Sonic/Cream and perhaps Toy Kingdom 3 as a +Sonic team. And Sunset Hill 3 as Knuckles/Amy of course. Fun fact (or useless fact if you will): Knuckles/Sonic doesnt give any vertical power attacks to break the power barrier in Route 99 3. Essentially that barrier is useless for speedrunning XD

Ha; that's such a damn tease with the lack of a Power move for K+S on RR99-3. Forgot it worked that way, just assumed all of Knux's move be it even a standard jump would break those barriers... but oh well. At the very least maybe something to keep in mind if Tool Assisting linked VBAs for co-op ever becomes a reality. Cool to hear you find the idea interesting. I find ILs a lot more accessible my self as a fun side project. Route99 2 and Toy Kingdom 3 were the other two that jumped to my mind too, based off your any% ILs. Be curious to see who come out on top for the latter considering both Knux and Cream have Sonic beat as lead in any%. Be nice for you to find any use for Cream at this point; obsoleted her in both full game runs now! The other one that came to mind was R99 1 A+S? I know in between your Any% runs you had a route that was superior to what you had for T+S. Not at all familiar with the strats at the mo to know for myself though.

Route 99 Act 1 A+S would almost definitely be faster even for TAS. Flight itself isn't particularly useful in Act 1, and there are 2-3 spots where hammering springs saves significant time. Most of the top IL times use this team, mine included.

I'm pretty sure T+S is faster in zone 1-1 (watch my new any% run) due to that huge vertical boost-jump stretch near the end that can't be done without flight.

Way late, but grats on the well deserved publication dashjump! As for some content in a post from me for once, did a quick proof of concept run of an IL of SH3 all chao using Knux/Amy. Link to video vbm here. (Its on (E) version though.) Far from optimal of course.

Meant to ask; do you mind posting the .vbm for this again if you still have it to hand?

So ' JustFruitSalad' found another OoB with Amys hammering of springs in Chaos Angel 2 and KirbyMasta made a video of it! Link to video It's currently slower than the any% TAS time, and quite considerably so (0:50.77 vs 0.59.55) but perhaps people here can make more out of it, as it is rather new. Could help the 100% too, I don't know.

So I did a little bit of digging and found that there is a single address that says what path you are on: 030015E7. It can either be 0 or 1 depending on which path you are on. Now the path swapper used for this oob is about where Amy is sitting here: Above her at the level of the bridge is another path swapper that will prevent the oob. Now normally if you hammer off the spring you just ignore the first path swapper altogether, but apparently sometimes you can trigger it and yet avoid triggering the one at the bridge. I'm not sure why yet, but that's how the oob works. In other news here is another oob on the same level found by Omla and with a route done by kirbymastah: Link to video
[16:36:31] <Mothrayas> I have to say this argument about robot drug usage is a lot more fun than whatever else we have been doing in the past two+ hours
[16:08:10] <BenLubar> a TAS is just the limit of a segmented speedrun as the segment length approaches zero

Excuse me what, I'm almost offended that all my work has been obsoleted in less than a year :( :( I really enjoyed TASing this game, so I'll try to work on these new developments in ILs when I'm free. Definitely not redoing any of the full runs, at least not in the near future..

A video by 'Shiro Paradox', which is essentially all the Ils edited together with all characters unlocked to make something of an New Game plus any%/base line run, minus the hub areas, that also adds in the thrilling Special stages for some reason. Not sure about the origins of all the input files, as at least one of the levels (Toy Kingdom 3) is done in Time Attack mode rather than in the main game, but regardless, some strats included in it demonstrate faster times than the published video on the site, or some of the other levels posted in this thread. This list is compared to the published run, but some are already in this thread (with the .vbm files too.) Route99 2; 32.95 (Sonic/Cream) against 37.32 Route99 3; 38.25 (Amy/Sonic) against 38.77 Route99 B; 57.27 (Tails/Sonic) against 57.28 Sunset Hill 1; 23.42 (Amy/Sonic) against 23.60 Sunset Hill 3; 35.88 (Knux/Amy) against 43.97 Ocean Base 2; 45.60 (Knux/Amy) against 53.75 Ocean Base B; 38.45 (Cream/Knux) against 39.10 Toy Kingdom 3 49.77 (Cream/Sonic) against 54.47 Chaos Angel 2 39.67 (Amy/Sonic) against 50.77 Link to video

One week later, I found out that my video was took down. Dashjump TSC complained that I took entire video, althrough it's not. If he decided that way, so I think he even didn't check the new strats. And I really didn't take his entire 100% run. Not from 100% run, from any% run! I even checked every level to find some strats and I found them. I'm not allowed to beat his records?
