Submission Text Full Submission Page
Emulator used: fceu-0.98.12-blip.win
Objectives/Features:
  • Kills no enemies (except for 1)
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Uses warps
  • Abuses programming errors (keeps speed+ even after powerup is gone)
  • Manipulates luck (on the pizza contests)
The enemy i "kill" is the one that carries the pogo device. The pogo is not needed at all, it was possible to finish the level without it, in fact it would have been slightly faster, but i decided to show all vehicles (skateboard, pogo and helicopter, for entertainment purposes).
This run aims for fastest completion without killing a single enemy or dangerous devices. It's a 100% pacifist run (except for the bosses who starve to death!). Why this? because the game is too easy for a normal play through, anybody who have played the game will see that this is no easy thing to pull out. Personally, i think it's humanly impossible to beat the game this way, especially because of the acquired momentum jump required over the green worm box outside the factory stage. There was only 1 possible way to pass through it, 1 frame or pixel wrong meant certain death.
The warps proved useless, except for when they were used to skip pizza contests. It was, surprisingly, faster to just finish the level, if it had no pizza contest at it's end. So, the run uses 2 warps only, the one at the circus and the one at the haunted mansion.
The bug i exploit is to keep the extra horizontal speed of either the invincibility or the black outfit powerups after they wear off. This is acomplished by not standing on the ground for longer than 1 frame (keep jumping, rabbit!).
Hope you enjoy it!

Hmm... The run is just over 20 minutes long, and yet you managed to vote yes approximately 14 minutes after it was submitted. Something fishy is going on here...

What, you've never used the turbo button when watching something?
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.

Didn't you kill something near the beginning of the 3rd stage?

humm the skateboard level? no, the football balls explode when you get close to them. I think you mean the pogo guy in stage 4. well, he's not an enemy he's just a power-up container. :P Ok i'll fix the submission text. edit: If that goal is too inconsistent i can remake it someday, but won't be anytime within the next 4 months X_X

Sorry about that. The pogo guy on level 4 was what I meant. If he can't hurt, it sounds like fair game not to count him as an enemy.

I didn't realize the game would be played so much differently with the pacifist requirement. I'm glad that a couple warps exist to dodge some pizza eating contests, too. The level with the purple sky and purple clothed men with purple hair and purple glasses throwing bottles from purple window shutters is kind of silly, but what can you do? This game is just bad for TASing, but I'll throw a yes vote on here, because I don't think there's a run like this published, and it's done well as a proof-of-concept run. Also, love this still: "You defeated all of my men. I'm the boss." Thanks for filling us in, chief.

Entertaining to watch, except for the pizza parts, and played precisely. Voting Yes. :)

Interesting thing i found by accident: If you play my movie, let the ending roll, then watch the intro scene, then wait a little longer, the game crashes! crazy stuff... maybe this could be put in avi, if publishing edit: i watched guanobowl's run, and this didn't happen there.

Nice catch, FODA. I guess that all of that playing whack-a-mole has taken its toll on the Noid. Yes vote from me.

This is really off-topic, but how did you become a "user3", scubed? :) I've heard of many "user" in this community, but no "user3", does this make you 3 times the regular user or something? ;) EDIT: Hmm, just noticed that there are many other who are now a "user3"... I'm really confused here... :) What's up with this user3?
