what do you mean?
Heh. My bad. My browser was using a cached version of http://tasvideos.org/

The text "trusted user" links to the "Wiki Policy" page which explains things a bit better than these two words.
I know, I just found it confusing because there was no definition for trusted user. It seemed like that you were saying that trusted users was one of the entries on that page.

Don't sessions just last until you close your browser? It doesn't work for me either (Firefox .8) Anyway, pretty nice. You should update the main index page though Shouldn't it redirect to the front page? And we don't need to know what page it was refrenced from. The personal page is cool, but I would like to click on something other than the question mark to get there :p And you should specify what a trusted user is.

I don't believe that links to ips patches will get you modded. Some guy did it on the rom hack thread about a week ago and its still there.

These offsets are specifically for the emulator Nesticle and the game these offsets for is Final Fantasy 2 for NES.
Nesticle, not virtuanes :p Anyway, it was a long shot. I didn't think that it would work on your emulator. The offsets should be relativly small numbers probably, so if you are bored you can mess around with it and probably figure it out.

You could try this http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/file/final_fantasy_ii_hacking.txt However, that is supposed to be for nesticle, so I don't know if it will work for your emulator.

Ah whatever. It doesn't matter. He can use whatever he wants, I just prefer .zips. I'm not asking him to change it .

I know, but everyone has downloaded one by now. You rarely see .rars so most people don't have a unrarer.

I use winrar too, but I don't like it. At least if you are using XP, you can go through .zips like regular folders. You need a program to uncompress .rars. Anyway, every pretty much everyone has a way to uncompress .zips. Not everyone can uncompress .rars(without having to go download something to do it)

Yeah. It depends on the emulator. I've never used Nestopia so I don't know. If it doesn't have a cheat function, You have to use gameshark or hexedit the savestate(which amounts to the samething, almost). If it does have a cheat function, find the location of the counter, set it to some non-zero number, and it should stay like that forever. Its possible that instead of locking the byte at what you put in, it just sets it to that value and leaves it alone, in which case you have to make it very big. But since it probably only uses one byte, the most you could set it to is 256. Then again, I've never seen a cheat function that did this so you are probably ok. Sorry if I don't make sense.

He doesn't have to. I just don't like .rars. Mostly because i have a crappy unrarer. I'm not quite sure what you are saying, because it doesn't make sense. If you are asking if he has to use another format, then no, not when hes just showing it off online, though I think that Bisqwit doesn't accept .rars either(or at least prefers not to) Anyway, most people just zip files because they are easier to uncompress. I don't even think that Windows comes with a default unrarer(might be wrong)

I imagine if you get to Ganon without the silver arrows you're stuck also.
That reminds me...One time, my brother was playing zelda for his first time. He got to Gannon, but he didn't have the silver arrows. He asked me if all that he needed was the sword, and I told him yes, because I had forgotten about them too. The poor kid tried beating him for an hour before I remembered about the silver arrows. >_<

Aah! Why are you using a .rar??? Those are so annoying. Anyway, I'll look at it now and tell you what I think Edit: Theres a much simpler method to make it under 9 minutes. End the movie sooner! You ended it about 20 seconds late! You're also right about the boss fights And you could have killed the enemies at the beggining a bit faster. Unless you were moving around to affect the randomness Oh, and try not to waste shots.

Just let him do it. He just has to change that last level then.

Its not tactics so much as correcting his mistakes in a few levels.

I remember messing around with this game a while ago and I think it did do something similar to what Blip suggested. I have the values for all the items if you want them. I'll go see if I can find out exactly how the hearts are stored.

A better question would be: Who doesn't play ff6j/3 much?

I was bored so I thought about this some more. The question that we need to answer is this: What are we trying to do? Beat the game as fast as possible, or make the shortest movie? There is a difference.

Yeah, I guess that mine is wrong. Sarmu also brings up a good point. In kid icarus, the movie stops after you beat Medusa. There is now way that you can lose. However, if you pause it, i guess you can stop it from finishing. If you really wanted to, you could reset it. Or is the game considered beaten then, even though you can move? Ack, I'm going to stop thinking now :p Anyway, regardless of what is decided, I don't think that the time that the movie is stopped should determine whose movie is faster.

How about this: After the movie ends, it should be impossible to not beat the game Beside this, the author can end it whenever they want. However, this can be used to compare two movies. For instance if one person get 1000 frames, and another person gets 990 frames, but ends it 15 frames earlier, the first person is still faster. I mean, it doesn't really matter if your time is 12313 frames, or 12308. For most intents and purposes, they are the same thing,

If you can, can you mail it to me at highsummonerbob@yahoo.com? If you don't want to do that its fine, but I am curius what I did wrong. I don't think that Bisqwit will put it up though. My movie is not that interesting. And about your other movie, if he hasn't put it up after 3 weeks, i dont think he ever will. What movie was it?

You did it that fast your first time through? I didn't think that my movie was that slow. Are you going to put it up somewhere so that we can see it?

What's your time? I have 19:06 and I'm just about to enter floor 9. Edit: By part 1 did you mean floor 1? If so, ignore my post.
