Desktop Tower Defense is a good game.. that aliens thing isn't. Here's why:
-No chain buying, you have to reselect the tower each time
-No delay for selling, juggling is already too good, you don't need to strengthen it
-No sending multiple waves through at once
-No notice of fast / immune / splitting / etc enemies or boss levels, or really anything

It looks fine to me.. by which I mean the things I saw meant that if it were fake, it wasn't even made with an emulator, and that means a toN of work and why would those things be missed? So I'm more willing to concede that my memory is faulty than that video.
What I saw:
-is 18 really that slow?
-doesn't the game force a level increase at 100 and not 130?
-does 29 really give a speed increase?
I think it's my memory at fault and not that video. I've seen legit plays of 700k so why not 999k?

The whole "destroying the timeline" thing is that the names Mad Dog and Scorpion appear as references to the US version of Contra 1, and Black Viper to the US version of Operation C? Did they forget that the first three Contra US games take place in the 1950s, so Mad Dog and Scorpian (note spelling) are long dead? and anyway, Shattered Soldier made the US continuity invalid entirely, so these are just in-jokes and references?

If so, it doesn't fit this site's rules. The full, playable version of the game is actually a hack made by fans which combines multiple "installments" of this serially-released game into one cohesive whole, and adds a final dungeon and ending which wasn't present in the original.

This is a very strange shooter that's a twist on the old cellphone game Snake. Basically you're a snake with a gun who lives on a super-low-friction cube, and stuff falls from the sky onto your cube, which you shoot until it falls off. If shots hit you or anything else, it gets pushed towards the edge, and your own directional buttons just kind of push you in that direction too. By pushing enemy snakes off the cube you get longer - which makes you easier to hit and harder to control - but your length is also a score multiplier, and you can detach your body with a button if times get tough.
It's super addictive and really weird.

So I'm sure most of you have heard already, but Contra 4 was announced for Nintendo DS recently. It's mostly inspired by Super C and Operation C with some aspects from Contra 3, but it ignores all Contra games after 3 in its inspirations. And the music is being done by virt, hooray!

The DS port doesn't look like it will be finished anytime soon. Last I saw, the author released a "demo" with only a few maps ported. One can scroll the maps, but cannot play on them. There are no characters, enemies, items.

Would there be a way to create a tool that allows anonymous comments that's connected to the movie pages, but then the comments ended up posted here? There's still the "anonymous = spammers" thing where they'd need moderation I think, and if you actually want to integrate those people into the forum by allowing anonymous posters you'd want their messages to show up instantaneously instead of on an x-hour delay...
All in all, I think the problem can be solved by saying something like "comment on this video?" with a link to the video thread, and have a message for logged out / anony users at the top of the forum that to post they need to register, which takes <5 minutes. They still won't post, but it has the illusion of taking feedback from anony users right?

I liked watching it, especially all the craziness with Silver Arrow and refills in 5 while the other games were being played too. It was pretty amazing.
I do think that a fami controller with light up buttons should be in the center between all the games to display the input. And I also agree it would be very nice to disable the music in each game. This should be possible by hacking the games and changing the music player code slightly to mute everythign taht's not a sound effect, but I don't know if that would cause desyncs or not.

The boss strategies remain mostly the same between the two versions, it's only item duping you won't be able to do which means a litte more money management for some things, and a harder time getting Dark Matter for Doom Potions. So either use a different instakill attack and fewer jutsu, or find money + Dark Matter, and otherwise use the strat as-is for a sub-3 hour completion.

I did a really poor run of Treasure Island Dizzy from Quattro Adventure a while back (so I say, but aside from more precise play I don't know a better route).
I don't think you can change games without a hard reset (even soft reset just returns to title of the game you're playing, not the game select menu) so it'd need to be 4 movies.
