There's that humor again. I find it funny that RingRush managed to deceive everyone, even Dooty (the judge). Maybe we need to stop trusting April Fool's Day submissions, even though there are some that have been serious, high quality runs like the Donkey Kong Country submission last year.

Well, at least he cancelled it. It could've been published before RingRush cancelled the run; then it would be a mess. I'd say, let RingRush go this time, but make "cheating" like this a bannable offence from now on.
Rog is joking. He's referencing someone else's post (don't remember who, there were a lot of posts in that thread) from the latest OoT MST run's thread.

Cooljay, you might want to have "one level only" as a branch instead of part of the game name. Also, welcome to the site!

So...how much games need a "minimum buttons pressed" catagory?
Only the ones that would be entertaining, like this one.

I suppose making a "TAS" at 15% speed wouldn't be a good idea anyway, since it would probably look too similar to the fastest real-time speedrun. An optimized TAS of this game would have frame savings everywhere and look quite different from the real-time run.

Entertaining both to watch normally and to count the presses. Excellent job, Brandon! This will be a great first "minimum buttons pressed" publication (once the improvements are put in). YES vote.

Also, DarkKobold mentions that there's apparently been 3 fraudulent yes votes on this submission. I want to make it clear that I had nothing to do with this. I didn't even vote on it. Whoever did in fact do this should know that this does not in any way help the submission. Don't do this again.
What exactly is a "fraudulent yes vote"? Does that mean someone made a script or three additional accounts to vote Yes three times?

i'm thinking of having a test around with Dolphin. Obviously I'm just going to do one of the to as a straight out any% I will try and muck around with 2nd player support.
Wii Remote recording doesn't work, but you might still be able to make a test run using the natural slow speed of Dolphin (savestates will desync the movie).

There is, and it's terrible. Could probably be done in half the time.
Here is the video of that really bad run. As you said, a TAS couldn't complete it in 5 minutes anyway.

Well, 5 minutes doesn't sound like enough time, though it would depend on how far into the game the savegame deuxhero mentioned is. Actually, I don't think any of the Brawl masterpieces can be completed in the time limit (even Super Mario World, which I think only lasts for 2 minutes [about 30 seconds too short]).

I said that, because TAS jokes are only in 1st April
Joke submissions are usually only on April 1st, but they can be submitted at any time in the year. For example, last year, Aqfaq submitted a bunch of joke TASes which would never be published, like one of a quiz game and one that skipped to the end of a fighting game with a password.

Very nice TAS. I'm glad you were able to finish it even though the Consolation Team Contest didn't work out. I watched the whole run, and I like it better than the Arkanoid TAS. Yes vote! There are Space Pirates in this game!

You know, hacks are difficult to tas.
Who says all hacks are difficult to TAS? Some are easy to TAS, especially if the engine is unmodified.

I think it's the same game in every Windows version it was included in (all of the NT operating systems), so 2000, XP, Vista, and 7. I would like to see a TAS of this too. I played it a lot years ago on my Windows 2000 computer.

OK, finally finished those annoying English 102 projects. Returning to the run, I'm sick of trying to optimize the jumping up to Kroop's door. I've been testing it for an hour (added to a half hour of testing before my long "break") and I don't think I can improve it. I'm going to continue the run now, though I can't give an estimate of when it will be done.

From what I've gathered from this and other posts, I take it there was an impostor on IRC. Who was he impersonating?

I think it would be better if you said something more like "stop making irrelevant and wrong insults" instead of "kill yourself (joke)".

Like the Nikujin TAS, it's short, glitchy, fast, and entertaining. Yes vote.

21:56 is zsr timing, which starts from file select (~15 seconds from power on) to the final hit on ganon. It's like 19 minutes sda timing.

I'd give this a 0.1 in entertainment; watching this TAS reminded me of several unpleasant childhood memories. I found this situation to be highly unentertaining. This applies to the run itself, as there are no sections in it that do not remind me of those unpleasant childhood memories.
And how is it the fault of the author that the run reminds you of "unpleasant childhood memories"? Why would you rate the run based on outside factors?

Afaik it's slightly above 20 minutes at last blow to Ganon. So TAS timing will be longer...
I should've known he was going by SDA timing. Well, it's still impressive that it's almost two minutes faster than the fastest real-time speedrun.

And, why they beat their teammates? I would ask one simple question: Would anyone just let his friend beat him if he wants to be the champion of a tournament? I don't think anybody would answer "Yes, just kick my ass and take the medal." It's not team fight, it's single fight, why would even bother to think about teammates?
Why are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting each other anyway? They're a team, and they're all good guys. So why are they fighting each other?
