YES VOTE! I never thought the old one could be improved. I'm sure a lot of hard work went into making this TAS. I really enjoyed the slightly different routes through all of the levels (1-1 over the first ? block, 4-2 through the bottom row of bricks).

Yes, a graveyard level that doesn't have Thriller as the main theme. That drives me insane.
Me too. I was waiting for Thriller as soon as you entered the level. Oh well. Great run of a great game! I'd give it a Yes vote but it would be pointless now that it's been published.

I had to watch the other CS glitch runs before I watched this one, and when I did, I noticed that none of the times were improved from the submission earlier this month. But I guess that means they were already optimal.

I feel like this particular glitch is well-known enough, though, that Punch-Out enthusiasts would benefit from seeing a clockstop run on the main site.
I agree, and I am voting yes because both this submission and the published run aim for in-game time, and this one beats the published run in that category. It should obsolete the published run.

How did I miss this submission earlier? Anyway, I really enjoyed the improvements to the published run which was not thought improvable. Great job, p4wn3r! (Yes vote!)

So, if I wanted to TAS a Super Mario Kart hack, would I use 1.43 or 1.51? Is the lag that much of an issue?

Crash Nitro Kart. I think the only problem is the lag whenever you hit a turbo panel or use a turbo boost item.

I was thinking of TASing "SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom", but I can't get past the game's intro. I guess it's not correctly emulated yet.

I forgot this game! This would also make a good TAS. EDIT: The newer builds of Dolphin can run that SpongeBob game now! I'll probably start TASing it once I get a dual/multi-core computer. (On my single core, the game runs at 16% and frame advance doesn't work.)

I really like this run, but isn't there a Nintendo logo after a hard reset, which should add to the time (not that it matters because you can't beat it without a hard reset)?
There's only a Nintendo logo if the emulator has the Game Boy's BIOS loaded. I don't think TASes use the BIOS because it adds to the time (and possibly also because every BIOS is different, so the same BIOS would have to be distributed with every Game Boy submission; but I might be wrong about this). Also, nice job improving your earlier submission, p4wn3r!

Thanks! I watched the run and it looks better than normal playing, but it's clearly not optimized. Are GameCube/Wii TASes going to be allowed for submission to TASVideos anytime soon? Or will they have to stay on YouTube and nicovideo for now?

I really liked the forced surrenders and the glitched graphics! Yes vote!

GameCube: Pikmin 1 Pikmin 2 (never played it, but I'm sure it would make a great TAS) Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Super Mario Sunshine Super Smash Bros. Melee Wii: Super Smash Bros. Brawl Super Mario Galaxy Mario Kart Wii Wii Sports Especially Super Mario Sunshine! Every time I play that game, I imagine what it would look like TASed!

A bit over a year ago, an updated run of Paper Mario was posted at speeddemosarchive. It beats the game in 3 hours, 38 minutes (SDA timing). The strategy used there is pretty much optimal. Barring any discoveries of helpful glitches or frame-precise tricks, I would be surprised if an optimal TAS was better by much more than 5 minutes.
Is there going to be an any% TAS then? Or does this mean there's no point in making one? Personally, I would love to see a Paper Mario TAS, be it any% or 100%. Good luck to anyone who wants to make one.

Very easy Yes vote! I've been waiting for an improved SM64 run since before I was a member, and this run is an amazing improvement over the published movie. I enjoyed all of the new glitches and techniques, too.

What if midiman's glitch could be used only for certain levels? I mean using the glitch for Mute City I, but not for Big Blue, and then for Sand Ocean, etc. Could someone make a TAS like that, with the objective being "Uses speed/entertainment tradeoffs"?

Thanks for the link. Well, I guess that game's out unless someone on TASVideos could beat it.

Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (GBC) was mentioned, but I don't know if the re-recording VBA has a motion sensor. (Anyone know?) It's a good idea though. And "SpongeBob SquarePants: Legend of the Lost Spatula" would be nice to see too. I used to play that game all the time.
