You're awesome, solarplex. Thanks for that updated bk2 encode! Stage 4 is so good, once again, t0ast! Just as highly entertaining as the rest of the run. Good work!

I got a message like that too. I assumed it was a scam though, since my name isn't Alex and a person from my age group wouldn't say "to get this thing going" and probably not "asap" either.

I enjoyed this. A bit boring, but the glitches and the fast speed that comes with jumping make up for that. Yes vote!

Hey.. I'm new to this and I've seen lots of vids on tas.. I want to do a KOF, FF one since those are the games I love to play.. What's the first thing I do? I already have ROMs do I just get the emu of this site and start testing? Are their NG ROMs already in this emu? What happens first?
You'll want to download the latest version of FBA-RR. It doesn't come with ROMs so you'll want to have yours already. Then you can start testing and TASing.

I remembered you saying once that there were OoB glitches in this game, so I'm glad you've started on a run of it. Good luck on successive stages!

I believe game entries are created whenever someone submits a run of a game. These entries can be viewed on the Game Names Editor, and new game entries can be added there (but only by certain users). The "unknown" NES game was used for a WIP of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends, so I changed its name to that. I also added grassini's game request to the list. Kurabupengin, I can add whatever games you want as well.

Looks good, Kurabupengin. Is there a way to keep from slowing down at 0:48 to make that second jump? Maybe by making the first jump earlier?

Hooray for slope clipping! That's the room I was hoping it would be useful in.

I wonder how many stages can acquire 100% without redoing the stage later?
I know that at least the tutorial levels don't have any of those medals. They also don't appear in the level select once they're done, which will save a lot of time in selecting levels to go back to. The best route would probably be to learn all of the moves, go back and get 100% on all of the levels, and then continue on with Foosa Lair 100% and Foosa Arena. Seems pretty simple now that I think about it, but I'll have to test the levels to see if any can be completed earlier (using only certain moves). Regardless, this is the most fun I've had TASing a game in a long time, so I might work on this 100% run sometime.

About the credits, is there any post game screen of some sort the proves the game was completed?
There's a screen that pops up if you press Start or let the credits finish that tells you how many medals you've collected. You can see it at the end of my encode. I thought it would be preferred to show the credits though, since you can access them at the end of the game.

I grew up with this game, and I'll be interested in seeing a 100% TAS one day.
I might do that one day. It'll take a lot of planning though.

Couldn't the last ending part be skipped with Start?
It could, but doing so would also skip the credits, so unfortunately we had to A through everything. I forgot to note that in the submission text.

BTW, why you didn't TASed the DS version?
I wasn't aware there was a DS version until recently. I assume YoungJ started the run on this version because he was more familiar with it.

Which Dolphin revision is this for? I have to go somewhere in a half hour, but I could start encoding it for you if you want.

Legality issues?
Yes, we cannot legally provide game or BIOS ROMs. You will have to find a GBA BIOS yourself. According to BizHawk's BIOS_Info.txt, it should be called gbabios.rom and have an SHA-1 hash of 300C20DF6731A33952DED8C436F7F186D25D3492 .

Sorry this has been taking so long. The run was restarted to incorporate many minor improvements and tricks. Here's the new and optimized WIP up to Lemur Liberation 2: Link to video Also, you may have noticed YoungJ's new signature. He is a very busy guy, so to ease his load, I will continue our run alone from here. I'm working on Lemur Liberation 2 now, though it's going slowly due to those three levels requiring more planning and testing than all the rest, as well as being busy myself. Successive levels should be done faster. I found a couple of glitches as well: Crawl Clip and Attack Storage. Also, the foosa can get stuck in the wall. I'll try to keep the progress meter on my CoolKirby page (link is in my signature) updated, though it's possible I could forget to do so.

There is no way that I know of to edit an fbm in Notepad. You can do it in a hex editor, but the file format is very difficult to figure out and I've only successfully hexed together a movie once before (and it desynced anyway). It would unfortunately be a lot less headache to redo the input manually. FBA-rr works very well with some games, but doesn't work well at all with some others, exhibiting many crashes and Guru Meditation errors (whatever that means) when loading and saving states. If you really want to TAS this game, you should keep trying despite the crashes, but you might be better off TASing another game for now.

You can show off any tool-assisted work you make in the forum thread for your game. For F-Zero X, you would go to the Nintendo 64 Games subforum and post in this thread.

Very nice run, GoddessMaria! It was an entertaining watch, especially after the glitch happened, and you did really well with all the luck manipulation and precise RAM corruption. Yes vote!

I'm posting much later than ars4326, but I agree that it's admirable of you to apologize to us, even though you didn't have to. It makes the site a more positive place, and that's always a good thing. When I was in high school, everyone in 11th grade got together, opened up about their personal problems, and apologized to anyone they had hurt over the years. It made a world of difference in how we treated one another. Also, I support the gender choice options, with [Blank] as the default. Mine will likely be [Blank], but I think other members should be able to display their gender if they so wish. Maybe the gender field could be hidden altogether if the user lists it as [Blank].
