I have a few questions regarding this movie: I noticed that it is possible to edit a publication's rerecord count. Would someone be able to change this movie's unknown count to the correct value? The original value was lost when the movie file was replaced, and the new one messes up my rerecord statistics. Since this movie was published to the Vault, should the "warp glitch" branch be removed (since this is any%)? Finally, would it be a good idea to add my loading screen-less encode to the submission text? EDIT: If that branch name was correct, this movie wouldn't be in the Vault. Removing it in accordance with site rules.

Warp is right. Star movies are hand-picked to represent certain genres, franchises and platforms, and to show off what a TAS can do (from what I understand).

Here is the one I used for Paper Mario: TTYD. You will need to install Avisynth if you haven't already. Make sure you open the script in Notepad and change my Dolphin folder to yours. "dspdump.wav" is what I called the final audio file (the three dspdumps combined), but you can call that something else too if you want.

There are a few more steps you need to follow with the older A/V sync. You need to use the regular Dump Audio, concatenate the three dspdump files, and then run an Avisynth script to sync the video and audio based on a file called timecodes.txt, which also changes the stream to the correct frame rate (59.94 fps, I believe). I can give you a script I have if you need it.

I really like the feos/Warp plan of separating movies based on "any%/100%" or other goals (which would have to be entertaining to be accepted). No movie would be given a negative image based on tier and a TAS of every game that fits the Rules could still be made. And perhaps just as important, the greater visibility of Vault movies would get them more ratings! As dunnius did, I'm voting "Do something else".

It's not just you. I got the same error message when I tried to play it back on both my Windows 7 computer and my XP VM.

Looks great! It's too bad about the slope clip being slower, but going through that castle tower is cool anyway. Poppy Bros. Srs. battle was unexpectedly fast!

Good job saving those frames. Tune in next WIP to find out who the real king is!

Me too. :/ But I don't know what we can do once all of the possible improvements have been made. At least there are lots of other TASable SpongeBob games, like the GBA ones and Supersponge for PSX.

That's awesome, way to go! Now we can make a submittable TAS on any new revision! And it looks like the dspdumps manually combine now and the segments don't add duplicate frames, so thanks for fixing those issues too.

I found it pretty funny how you dispatched everyone with very few attacks, and the ending was great! I would watch this one again, yes vote.

Nothing new for this game, but I converted every completed TAS of this game into BizHawk 1.8.4's BK2 format, with relevant notes from our submission texts in each movie's Comments.txt. I meant to also include the latest version of my "Debug Code" TAS, but I forgot to, so it has been uploaded here. Since VBA is old and deprecated, I decided to sync all our work on the latest emulator with the more accurate emulation. I hope anyone who enjoyed our runs can enjoy re-watching them for the next few years in BizHawk.

Great work, got4n! It's nice to see this run completed, and you really made those last few stages as entertaining as you could. Yes vote!

Is it me or does the stereo sound reversed in the encode itself ?

Stereo channels are swapped. Sound that's supposed to be on the left side is on the right side and vice versa.
It appears to be a bug in Dolphin's audio dumping. When Malleo and I made the TTYD encodes, we just switched the channels in Audacity before running the A/V sync script.

That was great! I don't know if you can squeeze any more frames out of that level.

I've beated Soig by a frame or two, I think it was one, but dunno :p
That's actually pretty significant considering your load times are longer.

Most of the Dolphin developers don't focus on implementing TAS features. The person to implement a Wiimote TAS input would probably have to be from this site. I agree that such a feature is necessary, though.

What two publishers? I only see one sharing your pedantic stance (that being ThatGugaWhoAgree, no less!). Anyway, don't you think coming up with good arguments for why screenshots shouldn't be taken after input (especially in this particular case) would be better than "HERP DERP, 2 publizeups agre with mah so imma r8, even thought dem 'proof' i Linc don't back it up"?
No need to be so juvenile. The second publisher I was thinking of had posted in another thread about this, which I'm having trouble finding. Publishers select the final screenshots, and if they don't publish screenshots that take place after the movie, then why should they suddenly start doing it now, especially for a case as small and unimportant as this one? Also, why attack Guga? He's allowed to have an opinion too. None of your random insults are helping your argument or making you look any better.

By the way, I recommend you being careful when using sentences starting with "we don't want".
We, meaning the publishers and all of us who like to follow site rules and guidelines instead of constantly vying for exceptions. Why have rules if you can make an exception for everything?

Do you think it would be good or not? I'm confused.
I think it would be funny and showcase the impressive final time, as you do. But it's not from the movie itself and it conflicts with the guidelines I listed, so it shouldn't be used for publication.

Are you completely sure about that? Is that stated anywhere?
Maybe it's not a rule listed anywhere, but there has been some discussion about it (here, for example), and it seems at least a couple of publishers (the ones who put up the screenshots) believe it should be from the movie file. Also, a screenshot needs to follow these guidelines:
* Pick a screenshot that represents the movie or the game well. * It should give an idea of the genre of the game and the movie to an audience who doesn't know the game. * If the movie is atypical to the game (a highly glitched movie for example), the screenshot should display something atypical happening, but without conflicting with the earlier guidelines.
We don't want a screenshot that requires knowledge of the previous run to understand. I suggested 3928 because an item menu is typical of an RPG, and glitched graphics are typical of a highly glitched movie, so I feel it represents both the game and the movie well, especially to those who aren't familiar with the game (but can tell that those tiles aren't supposed to be there).

^What causes that? Does "reset" mean "force the game back to the title screen" or "delete the save file"?
The game loads the save and then resets to the copyright intro about a second later. The save file is still there when you return to the screen, and you can keep attempting to load it though it doesn't seem to ever open.

Great job improving a highly optimized run! Yes vote.

I suggest this screenshot:
As good as that frame would be for a screenshot, a publication screenshot has to be from the movie itself. Something like the glitched item menu at 3928 would probably suffice.

It does this in this case as well, only that this position is later overwritten due to a piece of code that sets the player position to a warp position whenever the tilesets of the last and the new map don't match. I'm not exactly sure why it does this test, since it can't ever trigger under normal circumstances
Wouldn't this code be executed when using Fly so that you can still warp to the last Pokémon Center even if its map has a different tileset?

It looks like this only obsoleted the old "warp glitch" movie. Wasn't it supposed to obsolete primorial#soup's run too? Or did something change?
