Nice WIP. I don't know the game, but it looks cool, and I'm interested in seeing what you can do with it given tool assistance.

That was a fun watch. The run could be optimized more but the strategies used were impressive! My favorite was the level that ended with the purple monkey (no spoilers).

The only change I see is different game gear controller handling.
Ah, so nothing to worry about. Thanks!

Is another option really needed for A2600? Most of the movies on this site are 2 minute thingies.
It would still be nice to have the option of more accurate timing. It could help those movies sync on a A2600Bot someday.

Option to set the frame timing (pre 1.7.x vs 1.7.x)
Will Atari2600Hawk be getting this option too? Also, what were the sync changes that occurred in SMSHawk in BizHawk 1.7.0? Were they anything as major as the new A2600 and GB(C) frame timing?

But there was an issue to Console Verifying this but the last post was MESHUGGAH's. He provided a fix for the issue but I don't see any checkups with that file.
I asked true later if it synced with his newest device and he said it desyncs on console due to less than accurate emulation. Unfortunately, it may be a while before we can verify it. I would really like to see the TASer vs. Human idea. Even watching the TASer make the TAS for 4 hours and explain the process would be interesting. As others have noted, it would also show millions of people how a TAS is made.

Nice seeing the glitch in action on Phase 3! Pretty solid route too; can't think of any way it can be improved. And Phase 5 looks tough, but at least you're done with it now.

I really like the new route in 4-3; it looks smoother than ever. And of course the entertainment is perfect throughout. Great job once again, yes vote!

I noticed that our editors have begun work on small parts of the very large GamenamesEditor page, though many fields that could have been filled in with useful information were left blank. So I created this how-to to make it easier for people to understand how to edit this confusing page. I will admit that I previously filled in the Goodtools names incorrectly by entering full ROM names, and this may have caused others to do the same. I believe the way I described in my how-to is the right way to do it though, as otherwise it depends too much on a specific region or ROM version in which the game was released.

Also, if you're opening Input Log through 7-Zip, you will need to go to Tools>Options and in the Folders tab, set Working Folder to "Current". This will allow changes to files inside the bk2 to be saved back to the file (otherwise they are saved outside the bk2 and BizHawk can't read them).

Extremely sorry for the delay guys (especially Mars608). This movie was actually finished about a month ago, but I don't know what infected me, taking me nearly a month to finish the submission text... Sorry again. :|
Don't worry, we can wait. And it looks like all that time paid off; the submission text looks great! Congratulations on finishing this run!

This is just as entertaining as a Mario Bros. TAS should be. Big yes vote! Looking forward to the NTSC version too, but no rush.

By default, states 1-10 are set to the number keys, and saving to each one is Shift+(that key). You can set them to different keys by going to Input>Configure Hotkeys.

theres an IPS patch for it though too
IPS patches contain modifications to the game, or hacks. A TAS of the resulting hacked game would have to be different enough from the original game to be accepted here, and I don't think a hack just for debug cheats would be different enough.

Of course, savestates are what makes it a rerecording environment. However, Hourglass savestates tend to have problems in Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 depending on the game. Test saving and loading states on your main operating system first, and if savestates cause the game to crash, try it on a Windows XP computer or virtual machine.

They are a little hard to see, so I would agree that video subtitles would be better. Plus, that way you wouldn't have to capture your whole screen.

Nice work! It looks good so far. Good use of subtitles, and I like the screenshot you picked for the encode.

I agree with Fortranm. Also, nice work completing one of your Mario Bros. TASes! The result is just as entertaining as I always imagined a TAS of this game would be.

Adding to what TASeditor said, you can make a frame dump by going to Graphics>Advanced and checking Dump Frames, then playing back your movie. Assuming you're using a recent (4.0.x) version, the full speed AVI will be created in My Documents/Dolphin Emulator/Dump/Frames. Here is a recent TAS that uses some precise tricks and explains them in the submission text. You might also want to check out this thread.

I was also surprisingly entertained by this run. It gives off a clear "tool-assisted" vibe, and the enemies are manipulated and used well. Yes vote! I nominate these two screenshots (frames 19248 and 56401), for showing how the run utilizes enemies to beat levels faster:

Thanks for that link, Nach. It's nice to know there's a way to help fix this problem. By the way, I can't seem to access the info pages for 1511 (Coleco Frogger II) or 1560 (A7800 Choplifter). Is there a way I can give those a search key and create a page for them?

That script is really cool. I just like your setup in general. Nice job beating the TAS record by 0"05!

I liked the run, though it was kind of repetitive. I had to pause the video to be able to read the paragraphs of text, but those turned out to be pretty interesting. Voting Meh.
