I don't remember your previous SMA2 runs, but this one was really good and a clear improvement over the published run. I don't think the entertainment during the Big Boo and Bowser fights could've been any better! This should be published to Moons. Yes vote!

I pinned down the Dolphin revision on which this movie starts syncing: 4.0-1862. Unfortunately, the 32-bit builds are only available for 4.0-1609 and earlier. It might be possible for someone to build you a 32-bit revision of 1862+, though. I appreciate you replacing the movie file and attempting to sync it, anyway.

By cloud displacement you mean the vertical boost when running towards a legde, right? In fact it can be used to despawn enemies, but only if the enemy would appear at the right distance to Kirby.
Yep, that's what I meant. Have you been able to despawn enemies with it so far? That sounds like it would definitely save time.

Desyncs right in the menus. DSP ROMs change the behavior, but don't help. Regular Dolphin-4.0.2
I believe there are sync differences between 4.0.2 and 4.0-2235. Does it sync for you in 2235? Also, thanks Fog! Could someone replace the movie file with the fixed length one?

All emulators we use here allow you to make a video from your movie file. The exact option in the menu to encode your video differs between emulators, but it will usually contain the word "AVI". For instance, in FCEUX, it's File>AVI/Wav>Record AVI, and in VisualBoyAdvance, it's Tools>Start AVI Recording. It should be fairly easy to find.

Maybe it's because I'm not familiar with these kinds of hacks, but I found this weirdly funny: Link to video

3-5 and 3-6 looked so fast! (As they should.) I also liked seeing the cloud displacement trick and the vertical lasers at the end of 3-6; wasn't aware of those. Nice to see more progress!

And um? Thank you? I didn't think I contributed that much... but the thanks is awesome. [Yay! 2nd TAS I've been thanked in!]
I admire your modesty, but without the glitch you found, this would have been way longer and probably a lot less watchable. I'm glad you appreciate the thanks though!

I know, right? I just don't understand the programming decisions for this game.

Wasn't there a page being compiled that was a gallery of entertaining obsoleted movies? If so, [the one this obsoleted] should be added to it.
There is such a page, and the previous movie has been added to it. Thanks for your suggestion!

Does the level skip glitch exist in all of Data Design Interactive's games?
It works in two of their other platformers (which are very similar to NBM and Anubis II), Rock 'n' Roll Adventures and Myth Makers: Trixie in Toyland. Walking atop walls also works in the former. It doesn't, however, work in Myth Makers: Orbs of Doom (no "level complete" menu) or Myth Makers: Super Kart GP (once you "press A to continue", it locks out further A presses), despite them using the same engine. It all depends on the menu at the end of the level.

Thanks for all the honest comments, everyone. This run did turn out more loading screen-heavy than I thought it would (they are half this long in Dolphin).

If you fastforward the loading parts, this run is actually a bit amusing.
Ah, good tip! I'll make it even easier; here's an encode without loading screens: Link to video Also, I believe the calculated time is incorrect. According to my A/V synced encode, the final input occurs at 2:17.504, or 2:17.50. Could someone please correct it?

So I made a run of Anubis II: Link to video I'll submit it soon, unless someone notices a glaring mistake.

how do I input my REAL GC controller into it because I see an option called (GCPad)
It should be as easy as connecting your GC controller to the computer (using a special adapter) and then configuring the buttons and joysticks to your controller as you would with any emulator.

Looks like that was a mistake by the publisher. It's fixed now.

Why not watching the encode instead of 22 fps :p ?
I was already playing back your dtm to make sure it synced, so I figured I would just watch it in Dolphin. :P I'll watch the encode now though. Good luck on the next level!

The finished movie will be in normal 4.0
Er...you might want to use 4.0.2 instead. 4.0 shouldn't be used for TASing because of a bug in that version that broke determinism (I think Dual Core Mode couldn't be turned off or something). It's great that you're still working on this though! Do you want to post your progress here to make sure it syncs for us?

Finished 5-3. ... Feedback & Sync tests would be appreciated! Thanks!
Syncs perfectly for me, even with a GC controller plugged in! As for feedback, I will say that when I watch this in Dolphin at 22 FPS (the fastest it will run), it's apparent that you've taken the time to really optimize this. It looks really great, keep going!

According to the Wiki: MovieClassGuidelines, the tag applies when a "significant" glitch is used in a movie. This can apply to runs with no major skips but heavy abuse of one glitch (GBC SpongeBob), no major skips but abuse of several notable glitches (Titenic), or abuse of a heavy glitch like a major skip glitch (Ikachan). Most of our runs that abuse glitches are one of the first two types, meaning runs of the third type are notable. The point of the "Major skip glitch" tag is to differentiate these runs from all of the others.

Wouldn't this run be vault worthy?
I don't think it's a vaultable category. However, some people were saying they would be entertained by a run that gets all quests or all badges, especially if it gets bigger combos than this run.

I'm going with Meh again. I liked the new glitch jump at the end, but the rest of the run is kind of boring. No fault of yours, it's just the game.

To be published, this hack would have to be better than Extra Mario Bros., but it's not as interesting and not nearly as well-designed. The movement could also be faster in a lot of places. Avoid hitting blocks, as that just slows you down, and save or waste a few frames to avoid getting fireworks at the end of the level.

I also think a screenshot of the Cooltrainer glitch would be a good idea. Of the three Mothrayas posted, I like the first (Eevee) one most.
