Stopping after one loop seems perfectly fine to me. Is there a rule for games that require you to play the game twice to complete it though (like NES Ghosts 'n' Goblins)?

Yes, accept this! Under the new rules, there is no reason not to!

This is a good, optimal run of a bad game. It's a world record, and it should be published.

I would vote Yes for was0x's improved run if it gets unGrued.

Also, today I moved every existing publication with a rating under 6.0 to the vault.
This isn't about the content of the movie itself, but the GBC SpongeBob run is at exactly 6.0, not under, though it somehow ended up in the Vault. Was that a mistake?

Why not publish it? Desert Bus is somewhat popular. This should help draw people to the site. Yes vote for publication (I suppose the judge decides where it goes). The only question is how anyone would ever encode this, especially in an acceptable quality and fitting within video site time and file size limits.

Yes, I think this deserves publication in the Vault. It's short and entertaining. I love the new site system!

Why was this submission brought back? Wasn't it just made to spread ponies, leading to all MLP discussion being confined to that one thread?

That looks great, GMan! I read through the whole post and understood a good part of the math. Using confidence intervals to calculate ratings, taking number of ratings into account, it all sounds like a solid new rating system. If I could Yes vote it, I would.

ILs are "individual levels", for "first track" runs of racing games and the like.

This sounds like a wonderful reform! Definitely a Yes vote. Can't wait for the changes or the massive unGrueing. So if any% is defined as "fastest possible completion" and there are only any% and 100% categories, will a "glitched" run become the new any% run?

Are you saying the run lost sync at that frame? Just continue recording from the frame it desynced on so you can finish your verification movie without having to restart.

I don't think the mapper it uses is supported yet.

Very fast and entertaining run. The floor glitches were interesting too. And I appreciate the temporary encode. Yes vote. I noticed in your signature that you're going to be working on Super Princess Peach next. Can't wait to see that!

Hm, let's apply E.T. Yes voters' logic: "So short it's entertaining. Sure it's a bad game, but it's also infamous, and will draw so many people to the site. Bad game does not equal bad game choice. Yes vote for the reasons provided." Now let's see how this one's judged, since it's basically the same situation as the E.T. run.

Shouldn't it be noted in the publication text that this is the first Atari publication? That's kind of a milestone, isn't it?

So which is more accurate, then? FCEUX or BizHawk? BizHawk should sync this game just as well, if not better.

What about having Kirby sit on Meta Knight's head? That could work in a TAS at least, even if it would be difficult to do a 2-player speedrun.

Since you're new to TASing, JWinslow, I wouldn't recommend you do this game. The current run is tightly optimized (except for one frame, I think, which doesn't matter because of a frame rule) and people would expect your run to be as optimized as that one is. If you're looking for a game to run, pick one you play or played a lot, so you know all the tricks and glitches to run through it crazy fast. Maybe no one's done it yet. You won't know until you look.

VanillaCoke is working on KSSU? Since when? I don't think he's TASed that game at all, but MUGG had a WIP.

Okay, thanks rog and Ilari. I will keep that in mind. It does sound like a lot of effort though, so I might just stick to GameCube TASing for now.

I thought Kirby Super Star used the SA-1 chip, not SuperFX. Wasn't SuperFX just for games with 3D effects? Interesting comparisons though.

There's no reason to use cheats here. I would recommend doing all 40 levels if you want this game to have a published run. No vote.
