Great video quality. 5,650$ spent just to run that "emulator" at top performance?

If Tiki had one, he wouldn't need to fake speedruns for fame online. Or, even better, if his runs were legit, he would not act so defensive when accused fake. @ShadowWraith: yeah, it does matter. "hmm lets speed up this thing... or even better, just play a TASed video on the stream!"

Streams can be sped up as much as someone wants them to be... And at moozooh: wat?

This isn't /b/, p_s. Though the rules insinuate such because it vaguely (but it does state that admins can do whatever and not have a single consequence regarding their actions, aka power abuse, aka /b/Hero.

How about you do a better unassisted run then? Clearly he's not up to your standards of playing unassisted, so you should show him who's the boss.
I have, and he made false accusations about it and was starting daily flame wars on my videos. @adelikat: Truth is suddenly bad or something? If people want me to go see someone play live, why should I pay for it if you want me to go?

The people that praise him are laughable. You want me to go see him live? Pay for my plane ticket or shut up. Worse than the Danny Johnson fans, except he was proven to be talented with faulty controllers.

@moozooh: No, he isn't. I'm sick of saying this, but the innocent don't need to act guilty when accused of something. If you act guilty and defensive, obviously you are not legit. Also, the videos can easily be sped up, it takes like five minutes for an ameteur to do that. He also finds that in Megaman games, pressing back to shoot something behind you mid-air really fast then going back forward is "impossible, has to be TASed, etc". Truth be told, I've no idea how to make a TAS. @Sir VG: See what I said above.

Well, any site that thinks Tiki767 or whatever is a legit, non-TASing person is actually just as bad as ScoreHero.

The vast majority of SDA runs are done at exceeding poor quality, far worse than TASVideos even uses, is that their only defense for "not TASed"?

Why is spweasel so against this run? It's a 100% run done by a Japanese person. Drop the racism, it's MM7 it's not going to be as amazing as X3 or some fast-paced game like that, but parrot14gree's videos on YouTube were amazing with what he can do.

If you're allowed to bot, then why the hell do you need to do the "movie" phase? How do you make it anymore "legit"?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKizxRSAmw8 There. Even with YouTube quality it doesn't suffer discoloration or anything. You guys compress your videos -way- too much <_<

Why don't people upload the .avi's from emulators? The feature exists for a reason.
There's no way to verify if the movie is legit from an AVI. Good quality (and reasonably sized) AVIs also take a lot of effort to create.
um, I record straight from Record to AVI from the emulator, no quality issues here. Also, you guys are ones to talk about quality, half of the stuff here gets badly discolored. No way to determine if it's legit via .fmv or whatever either, it could be "botted" aswell.

How, exactly? Implying that it can do something doesn't help, when this has been a rumor for lord knows how long and it's apparently a more well-kept secret than how to break into Fort Knox,

Interlaced video implies...? EDIT: According to wiki, it implies improving video quality.

Do you find real life unfulfilling? Do you have a tendecy to avoid problems? Do you look for ways of escaping from stressful situations? How long is the average speedrun? Why do you speed run? I'm currently doing a paper on video games and would like to gather from data.
1: Meh. Sometimes. 2: Sometimes, but I like to solve problems aswell. 3: Only if it's going to cause more havoc, or importantly, if I'm aware it'll turn stressful, which sadly isn't too often. 4: For Megaman X games, around 50 minutes if I collect all items. 5: I find it fun. Speedrunning is an art, not something to be seen as "lolhey i do for fame lol i tiki656".

150$ = cheap? "nice"? As in, barely visible, glare-filled and blurry, which is what I see from most non-capture card records? 30fps would mean I have to double the speed of the video when uploading, or have it look worse than PAL. Yes, let's add more objects to the circle. Why not just cover the buttons entirely? If the DS can't be held like a controller, it is useless for speedrunning. Reminds me of the people who say what guitar is great and for what purpose on music games when they really have no idea what they're saying.

Please help me understand this. Are you complaining about the hobby you've chosen? Or do you want us to help you save money by doing the job you would otherwise have to pay for? Or is it both? You either get a good computer or do whatever you need to record a speedrun off a real DS (which is far easier and cheaper than you think, actually). Alternatively, wait indefinite amount of time and pray one of these conditions magically satisfies itself.
Huh? Where am I complaining about my hobby...? So, easier and cheaper? Good cameras are not cheap. And, no, it isn't easy. It'd have to be laying on the desk, or even worse floor, pretty much ruling out me pressing buttons fast, so... And getting the camera in a good position to record -only- the screen?

Good luck having even remotely good quality recording from a real DS, haha.
Well, not sure what constitutes good quality in your book, but these examples show that more than enough for speedrunning is possible to achieve: [1], [2], [3]. And adelikat's advice is spot-on. It's either a real DS or a powerful computer (or a huge amount of wishful thinking).
Yes, because spending unholy amounts on a great camera and holding it in place with something while keeping the DS in place on a desk or something is really comfortable. Completely. Impractical.

Why would left/right be able to loop but not up/down? The earth is a sphere, if the sphere has a 1 on top, and a 2 on bottom, rolling it over will reverse that.

Yes, the DS requires more power to emulate than a playstation. Desmume runs well on a nice computer. Now go get a nice computer if you expect to "speedrun" on it. Or better yet, use a real DS.

So you're telling me the resource [censored] of a emulator ePSXe should be running better than a DS emulator?

Well, I don't TAS or anything, but I do speedruns. It barely even played Mega Man ZX. My PC has 2GB RAM and it's a Pentium 4, it runs a N64 emulator just fine, isn't the DS only slightly more powerful?
