The submissions I watch are in AVI. People actually submit (and watch...?) the .fcm files or whatever the movie ones are?

Why would an emulator not be accepted?
Because it might lack some features or be unpopular etc. Nintendulator was once very accurate but it was Windows-only and not many people used it. Since then, FCEUX has surpassed it in basically every way, so it's not recommended to use it for recording TASes and thus Nintendulator submissions are not allowed. Read more about emulator requirements here: http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/Requirements.html
The majority of PC users use Windows anyway (except for the cheapskates that don't wanna pay, then they use a free Linux mod), so it's not a huge issue is it?

No idea. I used Item-2 in ways I never thought possible in my latest speedrun, which was 33 minutes, completely un-tool-assisted (33 minutes at the time the Alien was defeated).

Around a year ago or so I downloaded it. Couldn't record videos at all, it was terribly laggy and the screen flickered here and there. Has it improved?

By that, you mean glitching?

Sadly, my PSP-3000 cannot be hacked to use homebrew so I'm afraid I can't do any of this?

Air > Crash > Quick > Metal > Bubble > Heat > Wood > Flash is what I found to be the fastest path in my non-TASes.

That must be for one of the updates, or something. Don't think I have that. Not to mention I play with a gamepad so... (but modifying controls for a minute isn't a problem)

I would think so, if you find a GBA emulator that supports all-four-at-once, Boycott Advance can handle U+D or L+R, but I dunno about all four. VBA can't do multi-directions, but can record AVI's, so oh well. There's also the Magic Mirror glitch, which is generally much better then anyothers for exploration in glitches. Thanks guys for the codes!

For the record, I've googled each of the ones I've asked for here and found nothing. Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (GBA version), doesn't matter if it's Action Replay, CodeBreaker or GameShark. I want a code that lets me walk through walls. Again, I apologize for all the requests.

The topic title cut off, I wanted to say mic input. As it stands, I've no way of recording both microphone input AND audio from the games. Which makes game reviews hard (actually not hard... just impossible) to do. I don't know of any programs that record video, audio -and- mic, either. (don't think there is one, free or not)

There are devices with which you can copy a rom along with a save file from your pc onto a flash gba something cartridge. What do you want to do with the shiny anyway? Show your friends? Everybody is gonna assume it has been hacked, unless it sucks stats-wise which basically makes it useless anyway. >_> And the really rare Pokémon are those with high IVs or whatever-V it was called. If you wanna be competitive I'd rather go for those. If you want to test teams or strategies I recommend using this instead of levelling up your Pokémon and wasting your spare time. If wasting spare time is your intention to begin with, I recommend online RPGs, or browser games like OGame, tribalwars or mybrute. There's at least some interaction with other people involved in these. Which might not be what you're looking for, but oh well.
I really fail to see why you guys think it's pointless to prevent shiny pokemon. What purpose would it have on the emulator? Rotting away? I'd only use the emulator to make challenge videos, anyway. Also, I'd rather not spend 75$+ on a flash GBA cart (how do those even work, anyway...?)

Well aware. The thing is, I do NOT want to find one on an emulator. If I did find one, it's not like I could transfer it to my real games, and train it like a legit pokemon. I'd be left with something rare and completely, 100% useless.

...that PREVENTS shiny pokemon from ever appearing? The reason I want this, is because I'll be playing on an emulator (I own the game, and most other pokemon games, don't start that >_> It's to make videos, anyway), and it'd REALLY suck if I got a shiny there, I can't even transfer it to one of my real games if I did find one.

It isnt 1/8192 if you know which specific frames to hit. I take it you didnt read the Smogon article on the Emerald RNG carefully enough. With the right tool, RNG Reporter, you can discover which frames give you a shiny Pokemon based on your ID and Secret ID, and use an accurate timer or stopwatch to aid in hitting that frame. It works for resetting legendaries, as well as capturing wild Pokemon and breeding.
I take it you don't realize how hard it'd be to do -frame perfect- stuff on a real game? 60 frames = 1 second. I'd have to get things literally, in 1/60th of a second... on a real game that isn't easy. On emulators I can keep track of frames exactly and slow it down if needed.

Boo. I restarted my emerald for nothing, then. not that I played much but still... A regular, ol' 1/8192 chance is better then that, man. :/

The Saturn was too awesome for emulation, man! Xbox however... why? Almost all of it's games were on other consoles (PS2/GC) aswell... well, the good ones anywho.

So I'd have to rely on frame manipulation for a shiny...? :/

If CamStudio sucks, then list a free alternative that's better? o_o

Either way, you're going to need to buy some hardware. While you're doing this however, you could probably find a useful SRAM state on the internet somewhere, with 100% caught pokemon...
And not a single one of those pokemon would be legit. :)

...X7? Really? Wasn't the worse Mega Man entry EVER? ....well, I'd still watch.
No, that's Zero 4 or ZX. Don't get your info wrong. X8 qualifies pretty well as the worst too, but it atleast had good gameplay---okay that was a joke >_> That game is supposed to be TASed to beat I think, I see no other way of it being possible. >.> Anywho, PS2 emulation is already fully compatible with most games, it won't be long before re-recording is added.

The only possible way I can think of is getting my PC to somehow read the cartidges data...? (via USB, I'd assume)

How would I even extract my ROM/SRAM to begin with?
