Knowing exactly which frame(s) I'm on in a real game is... hard, to say the least. I honestly would consider using an emulator for this form of thing if it wasn't for the fact that I can't trade it to a legit game, thereby defeating the purpose. (and it's cheating like that, IMO)
Also, moderating a site such as Smogon must be hard, props to you for not losing your sanity.
...a Megaman X7 run is wanted. Considering there's no PS2 section, perhaps planning can be done here?
Tornado Tonion's weapon does MASSIVE damage to all bosses (even the last boss's final form, I think) if used as X or Axl. Zero is not worth it in this run - he's too slow to do anything.
Axl has infinite ammo, so he's a good candidate for this. Any thoughts on this?
You mean the trick is frame manipulation? Looks like I won't be capable of doing it. >.>
I thought it might be something actually... feasible on a real game.
I own a Sega Saturn, and Megaman 8. I've been looking to do a video review of it, but a camera is expensive and the quality would probably suck.
Does this emulator run it yet? (the rerecording bit is nice, but I do have CamStudio to fall back on (like I do with the "N64" and PS1 emulators)
Did DeSmuME fix the absolutely terrible gamepad support? It was barely functional, each button instead of being, oh I dunno, Joypad (insert button number, 1-12) it would be stuff like Alt, Shift, Enter, Esc, (it'd still work, because the freakin' emulator is built knowing which keyboard keys each button press will do)
It really needs to get fixed. The way I see it, can't the gamepad support be done similarly to VBA? Unless I'm mistaken, that was open source too.
I can understand needing the mouse for the stylus, that's a fact of life. >_>
Actually, it's down+B (it was down + one of the buttons. I'm not sure which, haven't played R/B lately. Last time I did like a year ago, I consistently caught Mewtwo with it with just a Poke Ball (full health, etc)). And that was only in Red/Blue. It's a confirmed trick, provided you get the timing right (has to be the first frame the poke ball appears), any pokeball will be a master ball.
From what I've observed, certain natures and certain shinies will appear at different frames of the game, if this is true, I can safely say all these people getting "100% legit" shinies via these tricks are ARed.
How odd. It appears most people choose to believe in myths, then...
Although that Masuda method was an interesting read - there's alot of pokemon I would love to have shiny in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.

I see alot of people say it's "easier" and "faster" to get shiny pokemon in Pokemon Emerald.
For those of you that don't know, a shiny pokemon is merely a different colored version of it. It *usually* has a 1/8192 chance of appearing, according to most sites.
I figure to ask you guys (I dunno any ROM hackers) about if there's any difference between Emerald's shiny formula, and the one in Ruby/Sapphire/etc.
That'd work until the end of the game, where one of the healing spots (the last one) revives everyone in the party. I'd be training there for awhile most likely, and trying to get them killed off that late in the game would get irritating.
I'm more interested in it for DW2.
Before you ask - I've thoroughly checked all the cheat sites I know yeah, nothing. I've been searching (and still am) on Google for such things, but no results so far.
I'm looking for a way to edit the Hero's (the one you start with) location to be two tiles down, and one to make him two tiles to the left. (bypassing walls and such)
Memory editting is how this will be possible, I assume. (and the way I'd want it to - cheat codes are often buggy)
If your wondering why I want this - simple, I want to do a solo run using only the character you start with. The things above are to pass roadblocks that force you to get other characters.
Thanks!

AVI recording doesn't work well. After stopping the video, the emulator crashed and the AVI I was left with had no sound. (and only VLC Player could play it, after clicking "Yes" to "Do you want to try to fix this broken file?")
Thanks!
That's like 2GB per game, right? Not to mention I wouldn't know where to look.
(Note: That last line wasn't asking where. Just wanted to make it clear - I prefer not to use ROM's, especially of games I don't own)
By that, I mainly mean graphic/text edits. I'm looking into trying to make my own hack of Pokemon Red (I own two copies of the game before you say anything >_>), but I'm not sure where to start.
I downloaded all the utilities I could find (TileShow and pokemap). I'm not really sure how to use TileShow, everything just looks so jumbled up 'n stuff. Is there any tutorials on ROM hacking?
Thanks!
