Yeah, by then I'll actually be half prepared. :P

Actually, it's been sitting at the 45 second mark for a few months now. A single blue spark was VERY incoveniently placed in hard mode, and I just kind of halted when I came upon it.

I'm afraid I'll have to go no here. The vines weren't handled all that well, and that's the biggest issue I have. No frame advancing in a situation that calls for it. I was capable of completing the first level nearly two seconds faster; by the third it was three seconds (I never got beyond that). Not a half bad start, however. I've seen worse. Better luck in the future, though.

My, my, same here. :P Wow. That was certainly unexpected. Bit of a pleasant surprise, though. And don't worry about RKA. I've had a year to submit a faster version of GI Joe but that never amounted to much. >_< Atari movies? What good would rerecording be for there beyond Pitfall and Adventure? The rest don't end. :P Personally I was kind of hoping I would end up in Finland (get a chance to meet Bisqwit in person) or Japan (so I could finally play all these stinkin' Japanese games), but whatever. I've always wanted to go to Colorado. Although chances are I'll be in the plains. I don't like vast expanses of nothing. <¬_¬> I'm hoping it will be fun. I've had many people say it will be, but I've also heard it will be a lot of hard work. Doesn't that seem contradictory? :P Yes, Zurecco, I'll be in Provo for a few weeks, but I'll only have a few days worth of touring. I doubt I'll be able to see anyone. :( Say, every one of these paragraphs ended with an emoticon. :|

I'll be leaving for a couple of years. My call came in last week and I'll be headed for Colorado Springs come November 30. Much like Elder Fullmer, that means I'm not going to be able to be around for that while. I really don't mean to make a big deal out of this, but considering this is a pretty big thing for me, and I wish not to pull a ziplock, I figured my best bet would be to make a topic about this. (I also don't want this topic to turn into a debate; I'm just saying goodbye and explaining why, that's all) Don't worry, I'm not leaving this site immediately, but come November 1st, I'm gone! :P So without further ado, here's a list of game I expect to see by the time I come back, in no particular order and updated whenever a new one strikes me: NES: Holy Diver Doki! Doki! Yuuenchi Namco Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back Hello Kitty no Ohanabatake Air Fortress Strider Ufouria Beetlejuice Xexyz Nightmare on Elm Street 4 Player (if possible) Mission: Impossible Cocoron Willow Alfred Chicken Monster Party Noah's Ark The Simpsons: Bart vs the Space Mutants The Guardian Legend Gameboy: Metroid 2 Metroid Fusion TMNT 3: Radical Rescue Shantae The other Zeldas Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog Herzog Zwei Sparkster Updated Rocket Knight Adventures Alisia Dragoon Garfield: Caught in the Act Desert Demolition both characters Super Nintendo: Run Saber 2 Player Spanky's Quest Joe & Mac Robocop vs. Terminator Mazinger Z DKC2 N64 Kirby 64 Bomberman 64 all gold cards Mischief Makers Edit: I forgot something. Anyone who wishes to obsolete any of my movies for any reason can consider themselves as having a yes vote from me. Unless you're just hex editing or something that leaves some of my work intact; then I want it to be a joint effort. :P

Not to bump my topic up or anything, but this is getting weird. Okay, you'll notice I updated the text with some stuff about the ROM I used. Indeed, I found a different ROM that worked just fine under FCEU and played my movie perfectly. Because of this, I deleted it and kept the one I initially had. However, curiosity got the best of me. I redownloaded that ROM from the place I got it, got GoodNES and GoodWindows, and did some scanning. Indeed, my ROM was bad and that one good, if I'm doing this right. Now that ROM refuses to work again. Even after downloading it again. What the heck? >_< Until this issue gets resolved, I guess my original response still stands: I used the bad dump because the good one was giving me issues. Not that it matters, though, from what I've seen... Edit: After watching a few more episodes I realized how fitting it is that Speedy decimates the bosses in one hit. :P Edit Dos: I think I figured out the problem. The good dump (and some others) has a bad header, interfering with the ROM running properly. Apparently the header got gunked up at some point during the dumping process. I snagged cajoNES, used that to clean out the header, and now it works just fine. And, yes, the movie still works. This also allowed me to play the fan translations. Unfortunately, neither one is complete. :(

Why did you use a bad dump (b1)? Doesn't the game work properly in the good version or something?
Apparently not. Show me a good dump that actually works and my response shall be, "I have no reason." In fact, b1 seems to be the only version that works as b2 gives me the same issues. If this is considered a bad dump, I have to ask why it's considered such. The only graphical oddity I noticed (beyond the sprites disappearing and whatnot) was the occassional garbled player sprite that would last for no more than a frame, and only when there were other sprites on screen so I assumed it was a simple sprite overload and went on my way. Is there something beyond graphical issues that define a bad dump? Maybe that's why bosses fell so quick... Thanks for the kind words, everyone, but I honestly wish I could have the same fond memories of the show as you guys. :( I've only seen the first episode, about a month ago, in all its 90x120 glory. Yes, the video resolution was that small, and the quality was pretty bad. An obvious holdover from the days of dial-up. Edit: Alright, I just found another working version, one I'm assuming to be a "good dump". It had no descriptors beyond (J) like the one won't work, but it's a different dump alright as it actually worked. The checksums didn't match up, but playback was just fine. My verdict? Whoever decided to call the ROM I used "bad" needs to either get new contacts or remove that wedgie of his because these two versions are identical, right down to the disappearing and garbled sprites. However, if you're going to get picky about it, know that the movie works for both versions. Also, if it helps your searches any, some places call the game, "Cat Ninden Teyandee." Edit 2: Okay, so I lied about my response. :P

Go to the bottom of the page. The proper link is there. Edit: Oooo, very nice. <o_o> I'd test it out on the console right now but my RAM got erased.

You talking this? The picture is simply IGN's mockup concerning an official announcement. My question is, if they're going to do this with the controller, what's the point of the remote? Why not design it with more traditional sensibilities and maintain previous functionalities while keeping the new ones without having to fork over more money?

My brother seems to be in the arcade run scene, and he'd like me to share some of his stuff. Currently he's finished an all-kill, all-collect run of Metal Slug, a run for Gigawing with a 14 digit score starting with a 6, and is currently working on the first Dungeons & Dragons. Edit: Dungeons & Dragons done.

From what I recall you can't manipulate battles at all. This is because the seed is set at the beginning of the battle and all subsequent actions will be based on it. It doesn't matter how you travel through the menus; it doesn't matter how long you wait; Attack-Defend-Attack will always, always, always yield the exact same result no matter what. As such, doing battles won't be about manipulating the results, but rather finding the proper "path". In fact I think the seed may be set sometime before the battle. I remember having a save state right before fighting the elf-girl so I wouldn't have to put up with the annoyingly long boot up after the reset (she always ran off after the fight), and certain actions always had the same results. I know of one glitch that should be helpful: before the battles with other questers that force you into a one-on-one, if the lead character is dead, you can start the fight with the other guy and resurrect your partner after the battle begins. Double team 'em!

Okay, now to actually contribute something constructive... Just because we haven't heard from any game developers doesn't mean they don't come here. I've heard that Retro employees sometimes visit various forums, including SCU, but I have yet to hear any stories of them speaking up on them. So yeah, who knows? We may have some famous people lurking our forums from time to time. Certainly they've heard of us. They'd have to have heard about us after that bombshell that was Morimoto.

I admit my nomination of the short Zelda movie may have been a bad one. I was too much caught up in the moment with it to really think straight on that one. I still like it for what it does, though.

9120612355 1239012711111 (all numbers, baby! geez, I'm such a poser...) All right! It's only been, what, a month since I last updated? <;>_>> Sorry about that. I was getting frustrated, lost motivation, got distracted by a separate project I didn't care for, and got back on this. I hope this doesn't happen again. I took a couple of unorthodox approaches here: I ducked under some enemies to keep my charge because I couldn't dodge them any other way, and I backtracked a bit to get a chibi-run. Worked out rather nicely in the end. The bosses took several tries to get right, and the end boss goes down mighty quick. Time: 1) 4:03 AM 2) 4:07 AM 3) 4:18 AM 4) 4:25 AM 5) 4:32 AM 6) 4:40 AM Real Time: 7:04 Prepare for much ugliness in the up and coming level. <@_@>
