yeah, i'm still a newb in using savestates and frame advance (i've never even tried frame advance yet) mostly because im' too impatient to play the game that slow ^^ and dont feel like your stealing my work, if you can do better, go ahead! it wasnt even my idea in the first place :P but i guess i just took it over :P damn, this game is slow responding. it takes like 5 frames of holding B for it to finally start jumping. takes around the same ammount to start walking. it takes around 13 frames to finally throw something/ hit someone. takes around 65 frames to jump and land just straight up and down.

yeah that really annoys me. it screws me up a lot. i use it just to roll pass cavemen and anything else. i can combo this into a rolling jump too, which can work effectively. EdiT: actually rolling pretty much pwns. check out this quick example i made http://rapidshare.de/files/25880937/example_of_roll.smv.html

no no, its just the fact that it takes up extra time to switch the game to hard mode.

Okay, the problem must have just been with ZSNES, because I just got Snes9x and it's working just fine on that.

I dont know whats goin on mannnn! I just got Snes9x after using ZSNES for a while. Ok , so I open a ROM, and wtf, my controlls like, just plain messed up. http://rapidsharing.com/download.php?id=E4B7F0C5 Theres a quick vid of me (trying to)play F-Zero. When i'm going up and down, i'm only pressing the Up key, and when i'm scrolling, i'm holding Shift. This is not my controler config. Start is Ctrl. and im' constantly turning right, for reasons i dont know. Also, when i try to start up Top Gear, the only thing that comes up is the Kemco logo, and it just sits there. the music keeps going tho. if i try to play a movie, all the controls are messed up aswell on a lighter note, i just realized that last year on this day, was the time i joined the forums... i havent posted since, or really thought about doing any vids, lol

no, both versions are NTCS versions. i suppose it is just something in the emulator. though i'm not sure how the emulator itself would effect the ROM (other than frame rate etc). if i could show you, i would, but i dont have any way to record me playing on the SNES. all i have is some rough data, like i said Just on the subject of fuel consumption in the game, the higher your RMP's, the faster your fuel is going down. Like I was playing as the blue car, and the comp was the white car, and he had to pit before me (he was behind be, so he was going faster, resulting in a higher RPM rate) And to get the red car to its full potential, you have to keep it in 4th gear longer than any other car. It's automatic trans. sucks on it, it always switches too early, making your accel. suck. But while in manual, you can make the car have much better accel, but have a much higher fuel consumption rate. Another thing i noticed in the game with the blue car, is that gas and breaking at the same time can be more effective than just letting off and on of the gas, because it slowly slows down (if that makes sence). It more keeps a constant speed, but going down down a MPH unit per second or so. This seemed to work best around 130~MPH. Same goes for the purple car. But the white car is better off letting go most of the time. The red car, it doesnt work so great for it, maybe there's a certain MPH I have to reach before i can do it right.

you know whats something funny to do, is whenever there is a ramp that you have to go over, like that one on that track (lol i cant remember the name of it, it was the one that has the turbo jump over the track before the left hand curve right before the finish), find the line that the comp goes on and put a banana peel or a shell right there infront of the turbo, so all they do is jump back over onto the road in the middle, totally skipping the turbo boost. its just kinda funny to see someone get all f'd up

Hey to everyone. Since i've seen Phil's speedrun at the one course in Top Gear, I wanna do a full speedrun. I'm not sure how interesting it would be to everyone, there arent a whole lot of glitches. Really the only glitch is where you run into the Start/Finish pole at the end of the race and you come in 1st and 2nd and you get extra points. So it could also be a max points run too, if I get it right on every track. I might be able to get my bro to do a 2 player run with me, that might be cooler. There's just one thing thats been bugging me, is the difference in the rom I have of it, and my cardridge. I've done some rough tests... First off, I was using the white car. On the Brazil track (1st track in S. America), I had to pit a lap earlier on the rom version than I did on my version. Yet, the ending times were only one second off of eachother (my version being better, but I could have just raced better). Also, I think that the Nitrus is more effective on the rom version than mine. Another thing, on the last track of the first cup, San Fransisco, I can go through the whole race without pitting and ending with a safe 3 bars of gas left, but on the rom version at the very end before i crossed the finish i ran out of gas. I'm still looking into it, because of the Brazil times, I want to make sure that in all, it doesnt make a difference. P.S. I was obviously doing my version on an SNES.

YES, joe and mac 4tW. I'd do it. I dont really know any tricks in the game, but i've beaten it before, lol. Is there really a Hard mode? I thought there was only 1 Player, 2 Player, and 2 Player Super Game. Is the super game hard mode? Because the only thing i've noticed in that is that you can hurt eachother.
