Awesome run! The tower void warp is a new trick to me. Also, suggested screenshot:

*sigh* Even omitting the more efficient method hegyak posted, this is just another arbitrary category to be credited for a TAS of a landmark game. No!

Seems to get the job done quickly. I forgot how catchy the music in the final stage is. :)

I will definitely throw my yes vote into the ring. Extremely impressive work!
No, no, you got it wrong. You're supposed to throw them out of the ring.

Normally I find fighting TAS runs to be very boring because they lack the entertainment value of more focused combo videos. However this came as a fun surprise with all the tricks you used to get your opponents out of the ring early. Nicely played!

I've heard of this game before, but man, it looks boring as hell. It's basically a poor man's racing game with a ball. Way to go, Japan.

^^^ No, no, no! That's not how it works. You're supposed to tell the guy that his run sucks balls and he should never submit another TAS again. Sheesh!

Looks like it's possible to glitch to the credits in both Super Mario World games, eh? Hey, any run that omits that tedious autoscrolling part in Bowser's Castle is fine by me!

Any way of getting this run to work on good old Snes 9x?
Yep, masterjun already made a test run of the glitch on Snes9x.
Thanks. I didn't notice any sound glitch during the credits, though. Did I miss something? EDIT: Never mind, I noticed what's going on.

I'm still trying to beat this game using the secret technique of throwing 30'720 punches on the title screen. I'm already up to 27'843.....

Out of boredom, I decided to have a go at this hack earlier today. I wasn't impressed with the other popular Rockman hack "Rockman no Constancy" because of how insanely hard it was, but I had better hopes for this. What. The. Hell. This game is IMPOSSIBLE to play! There's so much shit on the screen, I keep getting my ass handed to me before I have a chance to fight back. The bosses have so many projectiles, I can barely fucking move. Whose bright idea was it to decrease Mega Man's hit stun too? This game had a lot of potential with the design, but the difficulty level means it's completely WORTHLESS. Seriously, this is a trend that needs to cease. STOP MAKING RIDICULOUSLY HARD HACKS!! They're not fun to play! I appreciate a challenge as much as the next gamer, but not one where the game continuously beats me to a pulp. Super Demo World got it right; aside from a few spikes in the difficulty curve, it was pretty much on the level with the original game. Why can't hackers make games more like THAT instead of this garbage?

I guess you could call this the Life of Pi.......kachu. :p It's another interesting hack that goes straight to the goods quicker than the Pony movie. But at the end of the day, I still prefer the latter. What made it so funny is not just the run itself, but all those cracks about Ash being in the Matrix. That just sealed it for me and I wouldn't want anything to obsolete it. I'll give this run a "Meh."

Sooooo it's basically the same as the previous run, but slower due to emulation timing? Somehow that doesn't exactly fill me with joy.

In any% you can show off many things that can be done and show the final boss (SMW & Kirby Adventure "glitched" does not).
Isn't that what a 100% TAS does and more? Those runs exist if you want to see more of the game and potentially show off more glitches, while a 'glitched' run completes the game as quick as possible. Ultimately that's what speedruns are all about. Say you have three categories: Glitched, Any% and 100%. The Glitched run finishes the game the fastest while the 100% run covers all levels, items and bosses the fastest. The Any% run is the middle ground that completes neither goal as quickly and is therefore irrelevant.

I agree Mario should just have: -100% -any% -small only (and -1 world for SMB)
Even a "small only" run is debatable. I'm a bit more lenient towards SMB because it has tenure as the first game in the series, but I wouldn't accept a "small only" run for SMB3 or SMW. The rule of thumb should consist of two categories: Any% and 100%, or minimalist and completist. Even those "glitched" categories for games like Kirby's Adventure and Yoshi's Island obsolete the current Any% runs IMO.

Another lame arbitrary TAS category to a Mario franchise that has too many arbitrary categories as it is. This is just one stop short of "no facing left" and "no breaking blocks" runs. Voting no.

It's an interesting way of completing the game, but I also have to dispute the legitimacy of a TAS that copies data from a completed save file. I remember a similar glitch in DK64 that effectively starts a new game with K. Rool's ship already crashed on the beach by copying data from a completed save file. It's not exactly starting from the beginning if you need to finish the game first. The run is certainly inventive enough for me not to vote no, but I can't justify voting yes either.

My favourite star had to be The Big House in the Sky in Rainbow Ride. The inertia made no frickin' sense! BTW, how did you collect that star in Tall, Tall Mountain and fall to your death before saving? I thought Mario would stand on the sky in that case. Also, how were you able to attack on the shell in Tiny, Huge Island?
