Congrats - I was wondering when a 1 star run would happen. Now will there ever be a 0 star run?
I was thinking the same thing. A zero star run (or better yet, a zero key run) would be the ultimate accomplishment. Isn't it possible to BLJ through the Dire Dire Docks entrance to reach BitFS early? Anyway, this gets a resounding "YES!" from me. The acrobatics alone had my eyes boggling. And I agree that this definitely abolishes the 16-star run.

Wow, all who have epilepsy I warn you, don't watch further after Megaman dies.
*collapses to the floor, foaming at the mouth* How the purple monkey did you pull that off? Was that glitch performed with a Game Genie, or is there a legitamate way to crash the game?

Admit it, that was a real brain-teaser. But if you don't like my choices, what would you qualify as legendary level design?

Maybe I should take a message box there and see what it says.
GAH HA HA HA!!! I never realized how much fun the spare message box can be. Try bringing it to different levels and see what it says. Some of the best are Misty Isle 1, Misty Isle 3 and especially Water World 2. I'm still experimenting... Oh by the way, excellent run to an excellent game! Since I couldn't find a walkthrough, this TAS helped me find all the exits I missed. Entertaining and helpful! Great climb through Big Boo's Tower, too. That should go down in gaming history along with Goldeneye's Facilty and Zelda's Water Temple as one of the best level designs ever.

So that's what I was doing wrong. I thought those files were SMV's of different parts of the whole run (it was written the files had to be renamed - I thought he meant renamed with an SMV tag), not save states from the run. Thanks for clearing that up.

Glitcher, Here you go. Hope you like the run.
Thanks, but I was referring to the segmented run archive. Watching through a two-hour speed run just to see part of the end is a bit much.

I'm also getting the same "File is Wrong Format" problem as mukka, and I'm not downloading and installing a new web browser just to unzip the archive. Can't someone please upload the SMV's unzipped, or at least edit the current archive so it's not corrupt?

yo uare given a password and userid. these are used to download PARALLEL AIR rom hack, which is part 2, and MUCH MUCH harder then part1. you must play air parallel to see the true ending!
Just a little elaboration: the userID and password is case sensitive, and you have to lower the security level in IE to prevent the necessary pop-up windows being blocked. Just an FYI for people who ran into the same trouble I did. ¬_¬ PS. Thanks for the info, ventuz. EDIT: For anyone who has completed the second quest in Air, can you please tell me what to do in 1-2 where there are two pirahna plant pipes next to a fire wand? I can't enter the pipes because they're sealed off with bricks.

Um... can someone please tell me how the heck I'm supposed to START playing? I have the "Super Mario Bros. (JU) (PRG0) [h1].nes" rom and I downloaded and applied the patch successfully. The game loads up to the title screen, but that's as far I as I get. None of the controls respond, so I can't play. Can someone clue me in?

It's just a figure of speech, meaning it demands an answer. Your profile says you live in Finland, but is your native language english? I don't want any miscommunications in future.

I see. What about that trick where you pull rocks out of thin air at the end of Wily Castle 3? I know the glitch where you can pick up a rock while still leaving it in place, but magically conjuring up rocks when they've all been thrown seems impossible. And another point: when you get hit by Bomb Man in Wily's Castle, you mysteriously float upwards. These things beg to question...

Of all the TAS's I've seen, this is by far my favourite. I would have never thought it possible that you could mess up a game this badly and still blaze through the levels, leaving chunks of charred metal in your wake. What makes this run more entertaining than others is that it displays amazing ingenuity as well as precision. Climbing into the laval fall in Fire Man's stage, scrolling through the walls in Cut Man's stage, appearing on the wrong side of the wall before facing Bomb Man, and messing up Wily Castle 2 so bady that I'm amazed you made it to the clone in one piece. FODA was right when he said we should be scared at this. In fact, I'm terrified to conceive it will ever be beaten. If any submission deserves a resounding "YES!", this is it. Kudos! PS. I recently saw a video where you can use the Magnet Beam to scroll behind the wall next to the first teleporter in Wily Castle 4 and reach Wily's scrambled saucer early. Why can't that trick work here?

I took your advice and watched it. It was okay, I suppose. I admit I was impressed with using the Hookshot to skip chasms and nab the Bird Key. The rest was serviceable.

First: Welcome to the forums! Second: Have you got "Allow Left+Right / Up+Down." on or off?
Boy, do I feel stupid. I'm not that familar with VBA anyway. Thanks, Tompa. No wonder I couldn't find this glitch when experimenting for ages on my old GB. Seems it can only be done on an emulator. What wonders this 14 year-old gem still holds. PS. Thanks for the greetings.

I've been whoring out glitches in this game for years and I've never seen anything like that. How did you pull off that Up/Down trick? I just tried it right now and it doesn't work. I configured the up, down and B buttons on VBA 1.72 to a certain key, and when I press it, nothing special happens. No glitchy graphics or teleportation. Either I'm missing something, or you're not being clear enough, mate.
