While I have not been active in TASing in many years, I still monitor new submissions. When I saw this one, I had to come out of hiding! This is an easy Yes vote from me! It's very nice to see a new glitchless TAS of Earthbound after so many years. Here's a list of my highlights for this run: The Frankystein Mark II fight Guts save to protect Ness from mortal damage even though he only has 2 HP Putting Master Belch to sleep to avoid nausea The many death warps Diamondizing Jeff to give Ness all the XP Also, why the heck were there no enemy spawns at all in the Milky Well!? Teleporting from the Monotoly Helipad Teleporting around instead of walking Stutter-walking is so OP in the Pyramid! The Runaway Five music still playing when going back to Fourside And some other comments: In Dungeon Man, you lost an opportunity to gain 6 more frames over Nitrodon and I's run! At the ATM, you could have pressed right to go to the extreme left when entering $10000. We had listed it under "Possible Improvements" in the Author's comments on our run. Unacceptable! /s I also noticed that when Poo is a ghost (right before Pyramid), at the end of a failed teleport, there are a few frames where Ness, Paula and Jeff all appear as ghosts before going back to normal. Interesting visual glitch!

Took a while, but Nitrodon managed to find the file on an old computer of his. A few file transfers later, I put it online to bring the commentary download link back to life. Here is the link: http://xob.ca/tas/earthbound_commentary_by_napstrpsx.mp3

I'm looking for a game. Things i know about it: -soccer(football) -SNES, 95% sure (played along ISSD) -i remember a piece of music (which is kinda hard to describe:) ) -you could easily score a goal by blocking the goalkeeper while goal kick -when you scored a goal you could press the buttons for "it's a goal" or some horn sound, used to do it like crazy back then :D -when you injured someone, an ambulance car came (on a display) -isotropic view
You might want to take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_association_football_video_games#Super_Nintendo_Entertainment_System The game you're looking for might be in that list.

As shown by the above post, an unassisted run of 1-1 can easily be done 400+ frames faster. Voted no. (Yes, I did watch at least 5 minutes of the run, and it looked slow.)

Have you considered trying a single head bounce trick before being the tabletop tricks? It might let you eek out another 8 or 20 points.
The goal of this video isn't to get the highest score. It's only a demonstration. We're not gonna do this in the TAS. As for the leeway, we don't really know. We haven't tested this extensively. Again, it was only a demonstration.

Double post, but it's worth it. Maybe. While trying stuff out, Dessyreqt found that in Stunt tracks (where you have to do stunts to earn points, but each time you do a particular stunt, the score it gives you is reduced by half), one particular stunt does NOT reduce in score everytime you do it. That stunt is the Tabletop. Having found this, we decided to make a quick demonstration video. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKRD251JMDA P.S.: This video breaks just about every record we've found on the internet, except 2, one of which seems a little bogus to us.

Oh, what is this? Uniracers thread being revived? Could it be??? The Uniracers TAS is back on track. Dessyreqt came along and revived this TAS! He came to me because he wanted to TAS the game, and instead I suggested that we team up to complete it. So here we are, the Uniracers TAS is getting worked on again, this time by a team of 2: Dessyreqt and myself. The main reason of this post though is to ask you guys for help. We know of a bug that allows the Uni to glitch through the corner of a track, but we can't figure out how to do it. It happened to Dessyreqt once while he was playing on the console, and it happened to someone else on Gamefaqs too. The track this glitch happened on is Jumpover. We ask for your help in trying to replicate that glitch. Here is a page showing what we've managed to do so far, as well as some savestates (one in mid-jump, one before the jump). Link: http://dscarroll.com/uniracerstas/FallThrough.ashx If you find anything, please post an smv here, or just a very precise description of how to do it. Thanks! EDIT: I re-uploaded the Dragster video. It's in way better quality than the previous one. Also, the new TAS selects the White Uni, named Dave. We chose not to rename the Uni this time. LINK

Maybe a stupid comment, but if you want to play with more than 4gigs of RAM, shouldn't you use 64-bit pointers instead of 32-bit?

Although I'd love for Snes9x to have netplay support, I think it'd be quite complicated to implement it. The coders would have to disable frame advance, pausing and speed changes, as well as implementing Kaillera. I'd really love it though, and I'm sure I'm not the only one :)

I'd love to see this done too, but as many said, it wouldn't be a speedrun. A speedrun would just use the diary as fast as possible to make it to the end, which would be incredibly boring. The other option would be to go for a "perfect game". Damjee on youtube is currently working on a console perfect game, and I quite like watching his videos. However, I doubt that, if turned into a TAS, the same could be said. It would basically just be a slightly faster version of what he's doing. Here's his playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A3015649E69CCC86 He's laid out some "ground rules" for a perfect game. I'll list them here so we don't have to go to his first video's description to see them.
Harvest Moon Perfect Game rules wrote:
- 20,000G+ at the end - Enough shipped 200+ of each crop - Get married & have 2 kids - Have 10 Power Berries - 12 Cows and Chickens - Cow at max affection - Have the Clock/Watch - Buy the Bell Tree - Do the Magic Beanstalk Event - Have 999 Affection from each girl - Have 100% Farm Development Rate - Have Happiness at 999 - Get the "Super Farmer" ending - "TRY" to make it as grindless as possible.
In other words, if this gets done, I doubt it'll get published. If it is, it'll be with a quite low entertainment rating. The only people who will enjoy this are Harvest Moon fans (and I'm one of them!). That being said, if anyone wants to start working on this game, I'll watch the WIPs and give feedback, and I'll enjoy every minute of it.

Hmm, I know I'm biased here, but shouldn't this be in a different category? Like the map-glitch ALttP and the full-length ALttP thing. The glitches in this run completely break the game. That being said, this run is totally awesome! :) Can't get any better than this, really. Good job!

Personally, this looks like the kind of game I would get tired of pretty quickly. It looks like a game I would enjoy for about 5 minutes and then go "Wait, is the game gonna be like that the entire time?" To support Comicalflop, I totally disagree that this game is superior to Mischief Makers. They're different in too many ways to even compare them together. This game is the same thing right to the end (hack and slash), while Mischief Makers is more of a platformer. Getting back to this game though, I enjoyed the TAS, but thank God it didn't last any longer than that. I would have been bored if that was the case. But for a 10 minutes TAS, it's pretty good. I enjoyed it, and technical quality seems high. Good job!

Actually, there are 3 Cube movies (as far as I know). Cube, Cube 2: Hypercube, and Cube Zero. Cube Zero is probably what you were looking for (what happens after someone gets out of the cube). It's not the same thing as Cube though (as in, don't expect the same "you only see what happens inside the cube"). I don't want to say too much as I don't want to ruin the plot for you, but I highly recommend you watch Cube Zero if you liked Cube.

I don't know if this is a known glitch and/or if it's gonna be of any use, but something weird happened in this video at 6:45. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKLbqi4zSmw Basically, the sprite got hit and ended up stuck in a wall, and then switching weapons didn't do anything (the game still shows the "old" weapon when he fights, yet the equip screen shows the new weapon as active). It happened in the fire palace. I'll let the gurus investigate this.

improvement of the normal-mode TAS
Wow! Impressive run so far! For reference, Nitrodon and I had made a test run a few years back (2006), and it was faster than the published run up to the point you had gotten the Anger Brace (for the IP Battle Lust), because we didn't get that for some stupid reason. Anyway, what I want to say is that, our test run was faster in the beginning of the game, and I used it to check if your new run was better. Here's what I found. Frame numbers are the first frame of total darkness (screen is completely black) after the mentionned event. First number is our old test run, second number is your new run. After the Lizardman fight: 20129 20015 After the Catfish fight: 35110 33762 In other words, your new run is fast! It looks great, the catfish battle was INSANE!!! Keep up the good work! It's gonna be an awesome run! There were a few things that made me go "Huh?" but then it all made sense when I noticed an awesome fight or the lack of enemies on the world map, or other things that needed manipulation. You have my full support! Go Gunty Go!
