That TAS was just incredible. I can't remember the last time i'd been so entertained by a TAS. Both the Ridley and Draygon fight made my jaw drop. (Also, the beginning of the Draygon fight was just badass. Look at that wave combo manipulation!)

Amaurea, I really wanted to use your animated ghost script for Super Metroid to practice speedrunning against one of my runs. I was able to get the old version to work, but this new version (requiring the Lua GD Library) is beyond my area of knowledge. The only tutorial I came across contained overly complicated explanations of programming commands that I don't care to spend 3 or more hours learning. If you could walk me through the process, i'd be entirely grateful. Or even if you could tell me how to install the library. Thanks.

I too would enjoy watching a completely glitchless run. It's much more entertaining, in my opinion, to see the game played as the developers intended. It would also be interesting to see which cards and items the author would manipulate. Boss battle would be fun to watch. Frankly, in Cardboard's run, I skipped through the boss battles. It wasn't very entertaining to see super fast menu scrolling and then DSS abuse every time. I'd much rather see optimal cross throws and heart management.

That's ridiculous, that's like saying you have to visit every screen (including map and save rooms) on Super Metroid. It's a bit too obsessive, IMO. I can understand the bomb and arrow upgrades (which would significantly take away from the entertainment) but the other suggestions are just over the top.

I'm sure this has been suggested a hundred times already, but why not use the criteria in the SDA run?

I remember a while ago there was a fake japanese video of someone opening the Maridia gate. Personally, I think that's the closest you'll ever get without the discovery of a new trick. Short of looping the super missile to the other side of the screen, or finding a way to keep horizontal speed after unmorphing, it's impossible. Speaking of that, has anyone tried it with springball?

I personally would enjoy watching the collection of the skulltulas. I can think of many interesting ways a runner could get them, quickly utilizing weapons such as the boomerang and hookshot, maybe even bombs. It would add a lot to the entertainment value, seeing something like a megaflip through a gold token. The heart pieces as well. I'm sure there are many interesting and unconventional ways to get these. It would also be fun to watch the dungeons done with all the new tricks found; supersliding at every possible opportunity and the like. Supersliding up the Megaton Hammer staircase? Stuff like that is the reason I watch TAS's. Maybe in a few years when trick discoveries slow down, we can start hoping for one.

I think is impossible to do one at a standard that would be accept worthy.
If it were done with the same standard as the one at SDA, it probably would be accepted. I'm not sure if that run uses RBA or BA, but you'd have to enter all of the temples for the skulltulas anyway. I'd be very interested in seeing a run like this.

I'm pretty interested in this secret Kejardon is hiding from us. I think he should give us a more elaborate hint. ;)

I'm not able to get any of those 3 URL's to work, and I really want to see that WIP.

I'm sure this has been suggested, but is it possible he's using a different version of the ROM, in which one of the variables has a property that allows it to open?

There has to be an SMV floating around for it. Maybe we should get someone who can translate to scope out the site and see who's behind the video.

I'm also pretty hyped up about the gate. I, for one, hope the video is legit, because it'd open up some really interesting route possibilities. I might even be tempted to start running myself. Hopefully the video will be further dissected, and we can get some more opinions on the matter from users like Cpadolf, Kej, and the others. Not to discredit those who've already done testing on it.

I find it a little odd how the video is compiled with a bunch of useless/well known tricks, and then one of the biggest sequence breaks in TASing. This one surpasses even the Torizo Skip in technicality, yet the video also boasts wall jumping with monkeys. Does anyone else find this a little questionable?

I rest my case. I suggest you edit your post, and remove the swearing and name calling, lest you make a fool of yourself.
Hah! I saw you posting 'First!' on one of GHP's videos once. You lose.
That's hardly relevant to the topic at hand. Why does it matter anyway? It doesn't make my point any less valid. I think we should cut the spam now. My point has been made, and this has just turned into a dirt slinging battle.

I’ve made my point clearly enough that even a sorry ass like you can understand. Nice going, right?
So predictable. I knew you couldn't get through writing that entire message without name calling. Please, continue proving your arrogance. I don't care about your reason for joining the community, but telling people that you "Run this shit" is just like talking down to them. That's the point i'm trying to make here.

Respect means SOOO much from people I don't talk to or know in any way.
It should. This community is the main source of your feedback as well as the majority of your audience. The way you tried to "Call the shots", among people who are supposed to be your peers just made you look immature and arrogant. Even more so because you were drunk. Nice going.

Speaking of Rinkas, is it even possible to do the required X-Ray climb in the Mother Brain room without being damaged by one?

Ouch... it's been almost a month and no new posts. Any progress on runs? Is Super Metroid dying? :-(
