If we're talking about trivial TAS's, I could point to any rhythm game (although a perfect score in anything but the easiest songs in Beatmania/Beatmania IIDX is humanly unfeasible)

That was pretty sick. However, I'm going to need to eat some ginger before watching that again.

This is how I imagine the main character when watching this:

Yes vote from me... a MLP fan AND a computer engineering major. The ending made me laugh pretty good. As for what can be done... well, depending on how much code you can input at once, I imagine you can make a program that converts PC assembly to gameboy assembly (if they are even different, and if they share instructions), and then make a bot that inputs that in to the game. It would be some work at first, but then you could start doing all kinds of things, I imagine.

Hey now, I think Howard Warshaw really did an amazing job with this game, when you take in to consideration the circumstances. He had about 1 month to single handedly create the game from scratch, his only guideline being "Make a game based on ET".

These sample videos and WIPs are amazing! Keep up the awesome work! (And... should I be so hopeful... I can't to see what a MvC2 run would look like....)

I voted yes. The self-fighting portions, while some may consider it lame, was nice in the fact that it allowed you to switch up your character selection, which provided less repetitiveness. Each match was also quite entertaining. Would have been nice to see you do some stuff with Zangief (my favorite character), or do the random-select glitch that allows you to be 2 of the same characters (I don't remember how the glitch works... I think you can double select anyone on the edge of the character select screen. For example, I know you can be 2 Sabretooth's). But yes none the less!

I fail at not desyncing. When I watch, Z fails to exit the town. Hopefully this will be encoded soon :)

I remember this game from when I was young, and thought it was a lot of fun... seeing as I am pretty dumb in the area of TASing, I dont know how good a TAS of this game would be... a TAS would be pretty easy to make I imagine. Levels 2 and 4 have no speed boosts. However, Levels 1 3 and 5 do have speed boosting. So I don't know what the entertainment value would look like. Then again, we have a Gradius TAS which came out awesome. Only "glitch" I remember is at the end of level 1, if you go outside the barrier pillars on the right of the screen, you can drive unobstructed through to the end of the level.

If it helps, I enjoyed your WIPs and I fully support the completion of this run!

I had to give a low vote for the entertainment, purely because of the nature of the game. The short movie helped, though. As for the run, I think it was very well done. Much better than having to suffer through 30 minutes of Al from Home Improvement interlaced with commercials (or even worse, Lewie Anderson).

thaw?
"thaw"?! oh, you americanos use a different word for melt if we talking about ice that melts? in swedish and finnish we just use the word melt for everything that melts.
Here in America, "thaw" is more used to describe the process of the melting of ice when the ice is a part of something (for example, you thaw the frozen chicken from you freezer before cooking it); it's not really used to describe the entirety of something melting, just the ice within it melting while the rest stays in its current state. That silly note aside, I am too lazy to set up the emulator to watch this, so I am going to wait anxiously for an avi (and wonder if this will receive the most "yes" votes before being accepted for publication).

The problem I believe there is too is that a lot of the Multicart games are games that go on until you lose, with the levels repeating over and over. With some of them, such as Donkey Kong, the goal is a little more clearer because runs have been published already. But what about games like Mappy, Galaga, etc. who just keep going on and on until you die?
That didn't stop the Tetris max-score run from being published. Do these games all have score keeping?

I don't seem to be seeing the tricks mentioned in the description (for example, the last enemy is still killed via the door in level 3). Is the old publication being linked by chance, or am I stupid (or both?)

I noticed that each TAS on here was just a few minutes over an hour, with 1 being about 30 seconds shorter than 2. I am wondering which one can actually be beaten faster. I am not an expert in the games, so I have not seen any areas of improvement that could be had in either, but at an hour+ in length, shaving 30 seconds off does not, on paper, sound unreasonable.

How exactly is it possible for the motor to reverse direction like that without breaking things through stress and friction?
You may find that the motor doesn't reverse, but instead, the blades turn so that the same effect is achieved. Jet engines do the same thing to act as breaks when a plan lands and needs to stop. It's a rather ingenious and efficient way of using your own engine momentum to stop yourself.

I honestly think that if a new run is faster than an old run, publish it. Let the risk of being outdated be reason enough to optimize your run the first time.
