I just wanted to say that this must be the most civil forum on the internet. I never see flaming, or trolling, or anything of the sort here. Maybe its just the nature of the beast that this site revolves around. But regardless, cheers!

So when do we get to see the follow up run of Shining Force 2? :)

Just a heads up, I was playing today and remembered if you walk diagonally against a barrier (excluding the walls at the edge of the screen) while firing, sometimes you can pass through it. May prove to be a helpful shortcut later on when there are red blocks bisecting rooms

#6 is definately not from the NES version of maniac mansion (there was no skeleton). and #7, might that be from Actraiser? #11 I think is from Mario, too.

Hmm, is 19 on that from Megaman 2? And I know where 17 is from, but I cant remember the name at the moment. But its that game where you drive a jeep into enemy territory... the first level boss was a bunch of tanks or jeeps I think.

Maybe this would be something we can start doing and submitting things until bisqwit sees something he likes and decides to accept arcade runs :p

I think newer version of Mame have re-recording. Could this become a new facet to this site? I am curious to see if anyone has any suggestions for some good speed runs from the arcade.

Dance Dance Revolution and/or Guitar Hero. You could TAS it, but have fun watching everyone else finish in exactly the same time. :P (is there a version of ddr on a system with a rerecording emulator?)
There are a few gameboy DDR's as well.

Kaz, you bring upo a good point. Perhaps this isnt a good TAS game.

I just counted and there are 64 races. Maybe one could do a TAS of the first, say, 5 countries (countries are 4 races each) Edit: since the game becomes boring to watch after you max your car, why not consider the run over once your car is maxed out? That could prove interesting (do you buy the next engine or save for the best one, etc).

I find this game fast enough to be enjoyable watching someone in first when they are going high speeds. Especially during a nitro boost after your car is maxed out :)

I just picked up this game in ROM format today and played it a good way through. I haven't played this game before today since I used to play it at my friends house during sleepovers back in elementary school. For those of you who haven't played it, it is (in my opinion) a pretty well made racing game with very good music. I think this would be a good game to TAS because you have your choice of "paths" as far as what to upgrade in your car and when. Obviously, being a TAS, you wouldnt need to invest in armor. But that still leaves a lot of paths from which to choose.

I cried after you beat this game so fast when it used to take me about an hour, sometimes more, to beat this game. Yes vote.

I think a music video of many small clips from different games would be pretty cool, if done right. I would definately love to try it, if anyone knew where I could get video editing software for free.

Right. Contest over. Again no winners. Contest will be on hold for now until I can come up with a game people will actually play.....

Whoever beats level 7 the fastest. No balloons, because it changes which cities have which road layouts.

Oh, sorry for that little part; by "beat" I mean "beat the first 7 levels", since it repeats after that.

This week's ironchef- I mean, minimovie ingrediant is: City Connection! Goal: Beat the game. Fastest time wins. Beating the game = beating level 7. NO WARPS. This means, no balloons, because of the weird way the warp system works. Rom: City Connection [U]

So, only one person submitted a complete run. Congradulations JXQ. Because of lack of interest, it seems, I will put the next level on hold (consider it an extended timeframe) EDIT: I just realize that run wasnt on expert. So, I guess no one wins. Or Truncated wins. Or something.
