i'm really interested in seeing that improvement, can you post a video comparison? i'm pretty sure the mashing is just leftover because i wanted to test when it was accepting inputs and then work backwards from it, but i didn't know you could skip that screen as well

at 8:59, maybe but it's possible that it wouldn't since the fight starts immediately and i need to be at full halt to make both chars switch suits together. At, 15:23, it's highly probable that it would save a few frames indeed if it really does make a difference in that distance(you can see donald got affected by the slope, i just can't tell if it's the same as normal suit or forest suit running)

we're almost there, i've done almost the whole final stage, i'm just testing all the strats for third area, which is the last platforming section, only bosses after this part, one is a refight with the pirate dog,a fight with the skinny magician and pete and his suits This is the knight suit version of the last platforming section, i'm trying to improve the magic suit version and will post it later: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/53225522597963290

very rarely i get the movie file, and i think some version of video download should be available but mostly all i care is youtube or any other encode you guys put out online

pick a simple game, it's what i do, i would surely love do some RPGs but i don't have the tech knowledge so i stick to the stuff i can work with in a reasonable way... but not everything has to be top notch, i still plan on doing some unsubmittable TASes that will be a reference for people in the future that want to do something more good looking

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/52508496880912652 snow piles up on the chars feet, you can press backwards for one frame to break it, and some jumps and actions simply activate and deactivate the possibility of snow piling up again, lasso throws reactivate it for sure i changed suits so i could use the slopes better since the medieval suit doesn't seem to be affected by it and there were lots of tests into how to carry the speed ahead

i think 100% is enough to understand, no need to call it max inventory :S, just say 100% is defined in this game as collecting all items

so there's not much to correct in the octopus fight, but with different positioning and no frames wasted i managed to skip the background animation: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/51905106621583662 now it's stage6, the second to last stage in the game, we're getting there, BOIS http://vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/MagicalQuest3-StarringMickey&Donald(J)-Stage6-SnowMountain-Area1.png, the snow gimmick we'll create some trouble and we won't be able to take advantage of the terrain in the exact same way we're used to. EDIT: maybe i'll try something extra in the octopus fight to see if it saves time EDIT2: i tried rolling with donald on the barrel, but i wasted 6 frames lol

http://vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/MagicalQuest3-StarringMickey&Donald(J)-Stage5-ShellOcean-Area2.png drowning in a calculated way made us get by obstacles, but i want to test a little more in the last section, cause if I drown before the fishes i can go upwards and try to avoid the underwater currents current water1 version starts fade out at53582, will try just a little more there going up53442 with taking damage(lag 18457),for some reason taking damage is faster than not taking damage i can't seem to find what it is, i also noticed the version of the route i take damage has 50frames of lag less at the last drowning of donald. Drowning lags more than taking damage while in the celing, i guess i have to minimize drowning, after minimizing stopping movement EDIT: new framecount, by taking hits instead of drowning 53362(lag 18320), and minimized hits and got 53330(lag 18396), i'm done with water1

if anything can be made to make it more easily understandable, it would be good, at least i wanted to know where link was, because having him invisible for long was really confusing, but i enjoyed the run as it is and gave it a yes vote
