Much later, here's an English video and explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JCUkA0UWJg The glitch only seems to work on Japanese R/S, as future games prevent Tricking Mail. It's still not known exactly what causes the single map-tile glitch, but as it appears to be some form of memory corruption, maybe this could lead to more exploits later on?
http://forums.glitchcity.info/index.php/topic,7002.msg196093.html#msg196093 the images show how it's not relative to trainer position but actually to the map's coordinates.

I don't know about this glitch. Do you mean the walk-on water glitch using Dive? Because that exists in English versions as well, and you still can't walk through boundaries.

Link to video comments on improvements? i will do a comparison with a 2 player TAS to see where it gains and where it loses time, also will compare time it takes to farm power cores instead of just goin straight to the end,the infinite combo on the first boss saved a lot of time and headche!i'm about ten second ahead of daniel's TAS it takes 23 cores to fill the power meter,or 19 plus 1 big core(the ones u find in a box) normal character has a special move with invencibility, rangers have more damage and grab objects while jumping, both have different attack animations thanks for the reset trick,i implemented on my second version of the TAS,now with a farmin strategy, i will compare sections later and would like help at doin comparisons. Link to video jumping over an enemy saves 3 frames, jumping on an enemy/damage boosting saves 1 frame(compared to killing with an aerial attack, normal attack only used for better reach) this is the analysis for OHKO,but it's more complicated when more health enemies appear[/video]

whether we have or not tiers is irrelevant,as long as all the games can be found on the same console list. having a tag to warn about the run not being very interesting isn't wrong, but making it harder to find it in the site that's pretty much the ultimate repository for TASing is objectively bad, there's just no reason for it.(i have misclicked and got confused with the double lists for snes and other consoles many times)

Can u actually see an improvement on difficulty? For the sake of the viewer,it's longer and worse, but if you actually need new strats to deal with the game,i think it's valid to take the longer tower.

I don't see why all the runs can't be merged and published in the same list, for ease of access if nothing else. You could simply add the vault icon, similar to moons or stars and state what it means on the top of the page. That way people know it wasn't as "entertaining" as other movies, but they can still find the games they want relatively easy.
Seconded.

i think of this site as the ultimate repository of TASes and therefore i support the acceptance of boring runs here, where else would they be archived and the records kept? if u want to separate objectives ok,but entertainment is an achievement of the run,not a goal itself the playarounds and specific goal circumvent this idea but as long as it is the pinnacle of gameplay with a set goal or demonstration,i think the run is acceptable

i'm one of the people who complained a lot to have not entertaing runs to be accepted on the site so i got very excited when the vault became viable, but i remember the actual discussion was just about getting these runs here in the first place, regardless of entertainment. The Vault is a kinda silly concept when we already recommended videos for newbs and the best of the best list,we don't need to separate the games even more by having 2 lists for a console, one chopped up with the greatest sucess in tasing and the other being the actual complete list of TASes for the console chosen.

i don't know any kind of coding or programming, therefore i find it hard to understand the memory reading stuff. Are most TASers coders or programmers, professional or not? It would have helped both my accepted and rejected runs to be able to find RNG values.Should i learn to program,if i have more interest in TASing in the future?Where do I start? I don't feel like I can TAS without that skillset and have a decent result.
