I can't record the audio properly when it's done with the avi, there are slight glitches all over the place doing it that way for me. If I do it using jabo directsound, it desyncs slightly as the movie goes on but the audio is perfect. So..

You don't take away the whole cartridge, probably just some instructions like collision detection and sprites don't make it to the system from the game.

Ya, but you also assume people here want to search for the ROM to play a movie.
That's a lot easier and more rational than encoding an AVI.

Yeah and the fact that it is unknown about how the timer deals with no lag.

It is probably the graphics chip that is doing it with that plugin. Did you try using opengl with Rice Video or even directx if it's supported?

You can do it yourself you know, add the links and a title to a text file, and boom.

So is this being encoded or not? I'd do it but if it is, I'd rather not waste time capturing and encoding it. Plus I don't know how to do the intro as of now. Rice video emulates this game best for me, there is only the flashing water glitch but the rest is good.

Simple way if the video isn't using x264: - open the file in virtualdub or virtualdubmod, streams, stream list, disable the audio, save as, direct stream copy - to add sound, do the same thing with the new file but instead of disable choose add - this isn't the best way but you can learn from here

Is there not a brightness setting in the game/emulator, or perhaps some way to encode it that way? That would help a lot.
Top is brightness set at 100% and bottom is 190%, makes a huge difference.

I do not have the rom, pm me if you don't want it. I was able to play it with default settings, whatever they are. It was really good although I played it on 200% since you don't really miss anything anyway.

There wasn't any lag but the fire egg switch just didn't work so it can't be completed.

The cheat is integrated into the emulator in 1.6.

There's a gameshark cheat which nullifies the pause lag but in only works on PJ64.
There is no pause lag whatsoever on Project 64. And emulation glitches (at least for this title) are virtually nil.
Actually he is right, it has the cheat built in to get rid of the pause mostly, the same thing for a few other games as well. I would assume that that is the main difference between it and mupen's compatibility with games.

It is said it randomly crashes, I guess I could check it out later, how far in game is the plateau?
progress naturally to level 1 (should take about 5-10 minutes plus cutscenes) learn the ledge grab move (needs mumbo activation and exploration, should take another 5-10 minutes) go to the second area and if you have enough notes (less than 100 I believe. easy to find in level 1). then you can learn how to shoot fire eggs. there's a door on the west side of the area (assuming the endless pit is south) with a fire button. shoot it with a fire egg. every time I've done this on mupen NOTHING has happened. the door should open and you can't progress if it doesn't
As I don't remember anything about the game I got lost but I came across an area that would just refuse to load after entering it many times. I did shoot some other targets though, a savestate in the spot would help.
