Voted Yes. I watched the encode. Why some of the rounds seems very good (ends in 54-53 alas 6-7 seconds) and some of them giving me the feeling it's not the possible best ones (Fight 1, 2 complete block move by enemy without breaking it, 53, or Jae round 1 51 vs Jae round 2 53)? I'm asking the reason of inconsitency in the strategy. For example they are only manipulatable at a low degree or the AI is way too smart to fool it.

Wow, that Site Map page will come in handy for sure! Is that page automatically generated or it's a hand-written list of pages? Asking since I don't see the usual wiki buttons on bottom of the page. The Site Map shows the structure of pages, which means it's a "complete" Page / SubPage format of the wiki content which is already distributed as Topic / SubTopics. Will reconsider what I really want to achieve with ArticleIndex revamp. I think it makes sense to have an ArticleIndex similar to the SiteMap (header and subheader with notes) based over the tabbed one. Ability to see all at once and jumping through the usage of Table of Contents links over clicking on tabs and finding visually or with CTRL+F. I think moving pages from one place to other should be the last step of reorganizing the Wiki.

It's up to you (the author) to include it but yeah, its good idea to let's see what others think about it. Personally I love it when I watch a TAS which is both short and confusing (you manipulated a bat to bring the key to finish the game), increasing the WTF factor of viewer experience. If you want to include it AND make sure it is understandable, you can mention it in the submission notes and when the movie published, the movie description can be expanded to give this information to the viewer, which will be also visible on the YouTube encode under the video details.

Just found this thread. I've been made a lot of investigations lately about wiki pages on what information can be seen and other relevant things like planning a better navigation for the visitors. TL;DR: I have ideas and already started working on this months before. My idea is pretty straightforward and sounds easy, currently I'm just a little bit overwhelmed by the volume of pages and information while figuring out orders and average visitor intuitivity. 1. Revamp ArticleIndex - This is the starting point of the TASVideos Wiki for those looking for information - Audience order of visiting this page: staff members, community members and then every else visitors - Here is my current state, heavily work in progress of my suggested version: https://tasvideos.org/HomePages/MESHUGGAH/CheatSheet - Here is what I think needs to be ironed out and how to improve it for future readers: a. Increase coverage of wiki pages b. Add elaborations and details to pages listed c. Offer heading based list as well. There are many overlapping contents that makes some categories seemingly bloated. Either this would require more tabs or what I'm suggesting. 2. Defining Wiki page statuses (this thread) - Information needed but not accessible at the moment to work on this: Page hits, visitor page visiting behaviours - There should be a simple objective based checklist to filter down based on: a. Unique and/or Duplicate content (Disorganized, content or page need to be reorganized) b. Outdated because of maintainer of page (Outdated because maintainance is hard, for example some of my projects like SDATASes) c. Outdated because of TASVideos 2.0 (Disorganized, content or page need to be reorganized) I hope my points are understandable. Feel free to write your thoughts. In the mean time I will continue working on my ArticleIndex revamp

Tried the easter eggs, here's the TAStudio frame number and input for it: - Fastest "move on title screen before starting the game": 0003 Reset (and remove Select) 0006 Select 0012 Select (edit: or every 3rd frame after this. 0015, 0018, etc) 0024 you can go left, right, down etc. Syncs up to the end == Doesn't changes syncability - Slow down the music: This TAS goes for shortest input and the ShesChardcore's friendly bat finishes it later. The "trick" is simply pressing Select, which returns you back to the select screen while the "victory fanfare" plays slower. edit: therefore this easter egg is not applicable to the TAS.

That was a very cool while being a very short TAS! Easy yes vote! - Currently published movie which uses Difficulty 1: https://tasvideos.org/4566M - Difficulty explanation from https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/atari2600/584543-adventure/faqs/6475 :
E) VARIATION 1 The easiest game. If you have never played Adventure before, start with this. There are only two Dragons (Yorgle and Grundle) to deal with, and two castles to explore. There is one maze (the Blue Labyrinth) to navigate. There is no Black Bat in this game and Yorgle roams freely about the Kingdom. He *may* be guarding the Enchanted Chalice. F) VARIATION 2 This game features all three castles, keys and Dragons. There are also two more labyrinths that must be navigated; one in the White Castle and another in the Black Castle. The Black Bat makes his first appearance in this game. This variation has "fixed" settings. That is, all of the items and characters will always be in the same place every time you play. Yorgle guards the Enchanted Chalice. G) VARIATION 3 This game variation is exactly the same as Variation 2, except that all object, key and character placement is now completely random. Rhindle guards the Enchanted Chalice.
- Personal opinion: this game is so short and not really famous one. Difficulty 3 is way harder than Difficulty 1 when viewing the differences. However a TAS sometimes able to complete easier/faster a harder one thanks to manipulation and using different tricks not present in the easier difficulty. Personally if I would be a judge, I would accept it as obsoleting the previous one unless the majority of voters/comments warrants publishing this alongside the previous one. I don't find Difficulty 1 worthwhile (fixed settings) to not be obsoleted by this one. Other tidbits: - Is it possible to implement the following 2 easter eggs without losing time? From https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/atari2600/584543-adventure/cheats :
Walk Over the Title Screen Start playing the game, then push Select on the Atari 2600 console in order to see the game selection screen. Press Down to make your character move over the screen. Slow Down the Music When you finish Adventure, press Select.
- Ready Player One movie made a mistake on calling out the "first ever video game easter egg" as this game is used to be the OG (depending on what constitutes an easter egg)

Question regarding emulator choice out of curiosity: was there any reason for using FCEUX 2.3.0 version (at least this is not a very old one, it's released in 2021 January) ? edit: thanks for the info!

Yeah I've thought we are having a communication problem. Manipulation... the original 2048 game which probably works the same on Android as I played both online and that port on my mobile phone changes the starting seed which gives you a few tiles of different numbers each time. FractalFusion meant about the level of manipulation being "anything at wish", the ability and possibility to manipulate any tiles to be the desired value. I doubt it's possible to do that especially after starting the game. But it's only depends on the developers' code of the particular game we are talking about.

Thanks for the detailed informations ThunderAxe31! I have vastly different opinion as a simple viewer and TASer, in case anyone is interested, read it: There shouldn't be an arbitrary "X%" difference rule. How do you calculate the differences? How does X% difference affect you as a viewer? Why is there a line where two games which is "the same" according to the staff is allowed to be coexist under a different class? The comparison video clearly shows there are number of differences between the two games, some of them are clearly visible like the flagpole glitch and some of them are hardly, like the framerate. The route also have little differences at 1-2 over the pipe vs under the pipe, 8-2 bullet bill vs no bullet-bill. If I understand what the staff wants, they want to make the "common" ROM version to be featured while the other uncommon ROM version to be exist under a different name. Why? Why is this a desired thing? For Americans and Japan sure the NTSC ROM is the obvious choice. Just like for Europe the PAL ROM. I'm having a hard time understanding how does the original Nintendo developers creation of the same game released in different places which might includes different code/environment that results in different time of completion affects a TASer's choice of ROM to be called as whatever (currently Playground) while the other one is simple what it is? edit: forgot to write my decision. If I would be a judge, I would accept NTSC SMB (one if not the most famous TAS of this site) and PAL SMB as two different TAS and NTSC only obsoletes NTSC while PAL only obsoletes PAL. No need to make different tiers/class for this TAS.

So if you really want something like a max score / max move TAS on a faithful port that is also manipulatable, I'm not actually sure if such a thing exists out there.
The original 2048 game is manipulatable (well... I mean there is randomness) and can go over the first 2048 tile. edit: and the android port does the same. When I wrote why this TAS didn't does it, I've got response like "this is just an april fools TAS" and "this is exactly the goal". But thanks for the editor or whoever who wrote the information to this TAS that there is no going over 2048 tile. I didn't knew that. edit: nevermind, looks like my point still applies. You can still go for high-score, but the author choose the first 2048 tile and it's OK for everyone else. case over.

Yeah I know it. What I don't know is what the hell is playground tier is if this TAS is the first one to be recognized as such. Like why does it valued as "demo" or "showcase" when it's a legitimate different gameplay experience above simply having a different FPS.

What does this TAS does to call it a playground? Isn't this is just a PAL TAS? Edit: personal opinion as NOT a staff member: PAL TASes of games with different mechanics should be handled the same way as a different game, not a different movie tier. For example NES Rygar should have both while some other might not for example NES Dragon's Lair and flat out same games with fewer FPS rejected as it only has advantages of being slower.

Your computer is probably has one of the following problems: - Virus infected computer. Run an anti-virus software. Here's a free one: https://www.clamav.net/ - Not enough system requirement. Please screenshot your Task Manager > Performance tab while FCEUX 2.2.3 running while you record it from FCEUX, not OBS. - Missing crucial registry entries or system files. Try running: sfc /scannow According to that 2 months old event, you might have memory problem. Try running Memory Diagnostic Tool in Windows. edit: I'm not sure which is exactly your problem, so start with you think to be the most likely to be the cause. Regarding the Event Viewer, you could also search it in Windows > System.

Please show me your log from your event viewer: 1. Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools 2. Double-click Event Viewer edited, sorry for the stupid mistake :) 3. Go to Windows Logs > Application 4. Wait... this takes some time... 5. Press CTRL+F and type fceux.exe and click Find Next This will show information only fceux.exe related. Repeat step 5 find next until you can find an error and please copy paste it.

I assume you are using Windows x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit). The 2.2.3+ versions requires administrative access to the computer. Try to run it as administrator. edit: Right-click over fceux.exe and select the Run as administrator option.

I've tried a bunch of flash emus and now with the latest adobe flash player and there is no tab+space cheat for this game. So the google first result r------.-c has invalid information (the link is intentionally censored because of tasvideos site rules). Sorry for believing in the information without first testing it. edit: I only tested the 2018 version, I couldn't find the 2004 version.

For your information, if you want to make a (temporary) encode in FCEUX, you may want to do the following steps to only capture the game portion of FCEUX: https://fceux.com/web/help/AVICapturing.html This TAS... I don't know... - Outdated FCEUX version. TAS uses 2.2.3. FCEUX latest is 2.6.4 - Goal "Playaround": the TAS plays the very first level of the game and deletes the screen. I got similar feelings like watching a NES SMB Mario TAS with "maximum time" where they just waste time instead of doing something hard/impossible/unexpected/anything other than simply playing the game - Route... you make too many backtracking (going through already deleted area), helping enemies to escape and be a hassle for yourself... definitely improvable a lot. The perfect strategy seems to be something along the lines: 1. 12 columns and 12 rows with a few already empty tiles and 4 enemies that able to go through walls sometimes and some powerups. You are supposed to clear the outer area first while going for the inside area or clearing sections in a circular fashion to empty the intersections. 2. The ending of the route should be touching the final tile while killing the enemy at the same time. I'm going for a strong no primarily because the goal does makes no sense for me.

- New Alyosha TAS --> Great! - As I always say, anyone who improves my TAS is free to be the main author, so it's up to you (not that you would need any more points (edit) once since you already transcended as a TAS god :) ) - Will watch it in emu later before voting. - Resync cost 5 frames: I only knew about + 2 frames I wrote in previous submission text and this post https://tasvideos.org/Forum/Topics/18797?CurrentPage=3&Highlight=507317#507317 What is the extra 3 frames? I mean I guess it's because of better emulation I'm just interested in details. Random: In the previous published TAS encode on youtube, a commenter suggested a drinking game: 1. Pause the video before a level starts 2. Try to guess the route 3. Drink when the route is different than what you thought I'm not suggesting this game for health reasons :)

This game can be completed faster with TAB+Space cheat ( Wiki: PlatformResources/Flash#TasingTips ). I've tried Ruffle online but it looks like the emulator doesn't supports it at least there is nearly 0 documentation on their main site. edit: probably applies to the other 2 submissions by Spikestuff but I played way too long ago to remember correctly edit2: going to test with BlueMaxima Flashpoint 10.1 and some other Ruffle alternatives to find out do these 3 games have disabled tab order for the elements or not edit3: Informations. 1. I originally posted on this thread because the 1st google result I get for https://www.google.com/search?q=flash+cheat+tab+and+space is this game, Crimson Room, where the OP mentions this game as their 1st example of working cheat. After that I've tried to recall but... I've played hundreds of flash escape games, so I don't know if this particular game really had the ability to use it. 2. Crimson Room originally created at March 04 in 2004. The version in the top left doesn't changes, it's always the same (as in date+game combo) dates for both 3 games. There's two ways to verify version: extracting game information with a tool I added to the wiki page OR through in-game checking out the URL, which has at least 2 variations. BlueMaxima Flashpoint 10.1 + Crimson Room 2018 version: tab+space not working BlueMaxima Flashpoint 10.1 + Viridian Room: game is not uploaded there BlueMaxima Flashpoint 10.1 + Blue Chamber (TODO check version): tab+space not working BlueMaxima Flashpoint 10.1 + White Chamber TODO check if it's uploaded there TODO other flash emus
