What you seem to be wanting to do with that post is to reset after beating Kraid but before you can Up+A warp, and resume the game with a password the game hasn't actually given you yet. Do I have that right?
(Question regarding my NES Metroid) - Yes, using the password generated in the TAS but instead resetting the game and using the never saw password as result. And it's not allowed. Mothrayas' explanation here.

I've asked something similar earlier: Unlocking a "powerful" character through a code is not allowed if it's a consequence (reward) of finishing the game. Here's Mothrayas' comment on my question from here:

Your link missing a http tag. Link: http://goo.gl/bXKrgV Regarding your panel idea, I could imagine a contest similarly like the Streemerz was. In case someone has the balls to lead the panel as well organize it into production value.

Bisqwit: while I was iniitally just wrote it to express the vault rule (no board games), I appreciate the nicely wrote down features. Thanks.

I think SummoningSalt is the closest in terms of "speedrun history" with added "TAS moments". If your question is "is there anyone who would watch this", the answer is yes. I think I don't even need to mention half A presses in parallel universes or creating tedious scenarios for the sake of very short living moment. Presenting and explaining some TASes' elaborate tricks is another thing.

Question 1: My guess is that some people found a few variables using RAM Search and then used a debugger or trace logger to move on the structure of these variables. Question 2: So your method was: 1. You had mario's Y position 2. You moved mario to match his Y position with bobombs position 3. You found probably thousands of variables that were also useful I have two tips for this method: 1. You can also use cheat or poke the memory to make mario's Y position to a distinct number (a number that doesn't occurs that much, let's say 1499) 2. You can filter results also by discarding other addresses. For example, if you know bobomb didn't moved between 2 frames, you can search for "unchanged" values. The same way you could search "increased" value instead of simply "changed" value.

Regarding entertainment, the game has lag frames which we also abused at one point for a 1 frame save. This means we had very few opportunities to increase entertainment.

Might be interesting fact about the two versions according to The Room Cutting Floor: "the English version of Street Fighter 2010 was actually developed before the Japanese version despite its allegedly later release. Evidence for this can be found on the internal data from the Japanese ROM, which contains leftover text string from the English opening at offset 0x158EE, as well as the graphic for the game's subtitle, which went unused in the Japanese version." Just saying cause I also added initially as "2010 Street Fighter" name because many websites referred like this. edit: And I voted yes.

Errr... I could argue with that (NES Megaman TAS completing the game without flagged as completed).

If you already know some addresses, you can use the debugger to break on accessing these values, so you can easily figure out how is it stored and how is it displayed. Relevant subroutine starts around $93DC after checking it fast.

On CryoScythe line 56 playerX, line 56 playeY at yours. Yes, I mean that the game is already simple enough to avoid relying on the memory (so the AI could capture and process the image every frame), but it's not a problem if this is what you want. And obviously image processing would have a larger impact on performance. Regarding displaying, do you mean like old games minimap? (Warcraft, Stracraft etc). And what is the question / problem?

1. Enemy spawn timers: most levels have unique timers for spawning enemies (edit: the addresses seems a bit random, don't know why) 0x124 P1L1, also P2L1 0x65E P1L5 (pig falling from above) 2. Portal skipping but no enemy spawned: So we need to spawn enemy ASAP on P2L3 after 2nd portal skip on P2L2. It looks like we can't add delays beforehand (on P2L1 before taking last hit). I think that pausing and unpausing ASAP is the fastest one (FCEUX: 7441th frame pause, 7446th frame unpause). The timer seems to be 0x65F. Latest userfile: User movie #46332766305389526 edit: your movie is also 24655 frames long, didn't you forgot to remove 1 frame somewhere?

Only read the source code. Please read it as someone trying to help. 1. The two repository has different code, CryoScythe seems to be a bit newer. You should link the latest code aswell to OP. 2. function GetPlayerY() playerX = mainmemory.readbyte(0x070F)? maybe it's correct, but this kind of "inconsistency" (two different functions but one function does the same as the previous function without any mention) can distract potential users/devs. I mean you should have some comments about why does it structured like this 3. Do you know neural networking already or just learning it for the first time? (As I couldn't find the required things like weighting actions, iteration counting, learning rate etc). I only see a generic AI using the memory and then doing the same thing over and over again. Is it really neural network is what you are trying to build? edit: I mean that Space Invaders is already easy enough to solve it without relying on the memory.

Okay, let's take it serious. If someone makes a TAS of SNES Donkey Kong Country 2 pulling of the save glitch (Masterjun used it to make a christmas present TAS AFAIK), can I use that particular SRAM which resulted by that TAS? If yes, am I allowed to just simply edit those bytes to those values? There are many SNES games where SRAM corruption happens so this is completely a working in real life glitch.

Nice catch! - 1st portal room fastest exit is jumping at 6761st frame (6760th in neshawk, your movie uses this already) - "entering 3 frames later results on a earlier loading to the next "scene"" -> hmm hmm.. are you sure about this? I can only jump 6773rd next time and its slower Notes to myself: check enemy spawn where it's not timer based, write down frame rules portal - after the 2-3 lag frames, 0x5E9 == 127, decreases 1 per frame, turns to 64 instead of 0 (fade in and portal drawn), 61, 49, 37 (every 12nd frame) is the "fast portal trick". Rolls back to 64 if not entered in.

I was waiting for an elaborated rejection regarding SRAM + uninit RAM rules territory. Okay... so... If the lsnes SRAM is valid, what other set of bytes can be valid? Or other words, if lsnes SRAM is known to be invalid, what should be valid? SethBling's 0x101 byte is 1. lsnes is 0. This TAS is FF. Also if Masterjun could make an ACE without relying on uninit RAM and SRAM modification, changing these two while making a verification movie, should he submit this movie again but without rejection? This also sounds.... educational. edit: AFAIK you can ACE on console without relying on SRAM and uninit RAM. Adding this text to avoid useless debates.

I think I understand what you wrote (DMCA reporting doesn't have these categories), but the "Please note that a copy of each legal notice we receive may be sent to the Lumen project" is there whatever I want to report. I could fill in a cyberbully report of wide range of google products with a newly created google account, of course I didn't sent it. So it's dead easy unfortunately. edit: my professional countdown until 00:00 april 30th https://bit.ly/2pZg343 is obsolete :)
