You currently have 0 published and 1 obsoleted run, so your "new" player rank is "former player".

Thread added. There could be other entries that already has threads but no link to it, mostly because I processed multiple entries at once.

I laughed hard at the end, however I abstain. The piano part would be better with real songs (if it's possible), since I don't like cacophony that much.

I updated Wiki: SDATASes (little bit more information) and my first post. Thank you for your work DarkKobold. The title should be changed something more descriptive, but I don't have any good idea right now. Also it has a weird space in it :) And I also failed to correct my grammar (that Warp already corrected and I reedited it in the wrong way).

Castlequest thread added, I also processed the Gamecube entries. edit: I'm also thinking about leaving this list without merging it to the Wiki: ListOfIdeas page to make it simplier to update it when new SDA runs published (maybe a wiki page with a descriptive title for example "ListOfIdeas/SDA)". Any comments on this?

The goals only represented because there's no other run on SDA on that game or there's a TAS that's missing at that game. I will write something useful in the reminders to make things clear. But now I'm offline mostly for a day.

I'm finally sorted out the DS, GBA, GBC, GB, Genesis, N64, NES, PSX, Saturn, SegaCD, SMS and SNES entries with the help of others! Next time I process the remaining platforms that also listed on Wiki: ListOfIdeas (GC, Wii, PS2, maybe DOS).

What do you mean under "controller"? You should listen the beeps coming out of "PC Speaker", it tells you the problematic area. Depending on your mainboard, try to google it for example "msi beep codes" for MSI motherboards. Also what type of "damage" taken?

Okay, so here's the deal. adelikat gave me a userpage so I uploaded the list there. As I earlier said, games on SDA has multiple runs, but they only show one "final time", so I manually compare them. This can't be automatized unfortunately (because of how SDA's webpage works). Once I'm done, I will contact with one of the editors of ListOfIdeas. Nuff said, I'm glad that I contribute something!

One of the most serious problem with SDA's listing is that they only show 1 run-time for a game. Let's say they have 5 runs for a game, then they only list that game once. This can't be helped... So now I made a script that converts the entries from here to TASVideos Wiki friendly format, so I will upload it when I get my user page. After this I will have to do things manually, like handling "multiple platforms" in the entries, providing additional informations about speedrun goal and completion time. And after this I think I should get contact with someone access to the ListOfIdeas. edit: for now, I will try to only compare "main speedruns" from the link you mentioned ("MoviesList/ALL.html"). It would be very time consuming or even impossible to compare "various goals" like "103%" and other...

Before anyone misunderstood my goals: you can watch the full list of SDA runs, but you can't simply compare it with TASvideos runs. I think it would be much easier if I would ask a userpage here at tasvideos to easily dump the list of TASes.

Well, if you already have that script, why not? It's better than nothing.
I'm currently try to compare SDA runs' game title with TASes' game title with regexp to be able to delete entries that already has TASes. But I really don't know that does it worth the time to make it.

Thanks to many people, here is the revisited/shortened SDA Runs Without A Published TAS (edit: formerly SDATASes). Any informations and advices regarding game choices and their "information column" entry are welcome, the primary goal of this list is to provide good game choices and ideas about TASing various goals that already published on SDA. edit2: I have plans in updating the page with the speedrun.com API, stay tuned. I'm a bit sad, that a technically good submission nearly rips off an already long-living helpful scene. Nobody is irresponsible for this, everyone just tells their opinion regarding the submission. People are different, and it's impossible to satisfy everyone, and these TASes are about to complete the game as fast as possible, and not making the greatest (visual) movie in the first place. I would also like to apologize if my earlier posts sounded too harsh about the camera action. I think that others also raised their expectations about this camera thing after reading the submission text. You have to understand, that even if it's just a very small percentage of the scene, the movie became a little bit seizure inducing. I actually don't have huge problems (like epilepsy or anything), but I do have problem with watching this movie. The biggest problem (I think, and feel free to correct me, it's only my opinion) is that the previous run was one of the most famous movie on the site, many others watched it outside from this scene. This means, that the new movie will also gain popularity for the few weeks, especially if the star will stay on the run. So I highly advice, that either make a disclaimer in the intro about the possibilities of motion sickening, since the viewer's audience (according to the game) could be kids, and I don't know much about epilepsy, but I think it's worse if the movie is in 3D. I say that cause I never had problems with 2D "seizure inducing" movies, only 3D. The other solution should be re-doing this TAS with better camera angles, but it's raises the same questions: 1. is it possible, 2. could it be betters, 3. motivation... So I would be okay if just a simple disclaimer should appear before the movie starts regarding seizure inducing. Also, don't wait for one man to decide in everything. These kind of situations needs time and not action. I also suggest to move this whole debate into a trash thread to stop expanding it, but make it accessible for a precedent if needed in the future. Thank you for reading my opinion, and I hope that people who read this will start thinking about how to solve this situation. Good luck for everyone.

But if this is published, should the run keep its star?
Examples of starred movies can include movies of incredibly high quality or entertainment; a mixture of both is preferred. --> I know that my Post #269255 is a bit crazy, but everything I wrote is true, I just added sarcasm/joke/random because I couldn't believe the intention of the authors of this submission regarding "fixing camera angles". Promoting a seizure-inducing video (by giving a star to it) is WRONG. I hope the authors will make a re-do of this run.

(Although, thinking about it, perhaps the movie listing mechanism could be changed so that the entire history of a TAS is preserved with equal importance given to every publication, listing the publications in cronological order from the oldest to the newest and fastest/best. This way TAS authors wouldn't feel so much that their hard work has gone to waste.)
I think that all the published movie should have a list of former TASers prior to that. I think it's more motivational and much more "fair" to get a real aspect about TASes. Since TASVideos is a friendly scene where everyone helps each other, every TASer should have their fame if they improve a movie (mostly because each TASer finds out a new glitch and improves the movie, it's actually a community/teamwork). Even a "number of times this game is improved" should be funny. Make sure that the author of a TAS is really those who wrote inputs to the final submission file.

3 frames improvement for the already great published movie. Nice. Now watch the submission text. Wow, they fixed the weird camera angles, amazing! Well actually I don't remember any odd things in the last submission... nevermind. It must deserve a yes vote! But hey, watch it first! Woohoo, started. - some minutes later - WHAT THE HOLY EPIC SHUOAT IS THAT. Besides the improvements (which is GREAT) I have no idea what the hell meant this TAS. Maybe it's a tricky april fools submission (submission date 2011-04-10 15:48:52 ==> -10+15+48-52 = 1. 2011/04/1), or a very rare japanese joke that only people with manga eyes can watch this, maybe it's some kind of revenge or provocation to claim a lot theoretical dollars, or I don't know. Seriously. I never saw a TAS with such a huge difference between the comment/goal/description/change and the movie itself. I would vote a yes if I don't have to watch the TAS. Authors: if you want to make it ENTERTAINABLE, please try to do a "WATCHABLE" version, or "AT LEAST 25% MARIO" clip so I can watch him a bit longer rather than random sprites and textures scaled up to 256x showing 1-2 colors blinking up randomly. Also here's the psarcasmeudo-code for handling the camera angles in this TAS: (I added a few example about which script is used at a time)
How to make entertainable camera actions by Uwe Boll
// Side note: Takes damege to save time

[1:03, 2:35, 2:45, 4:10, 4:25]
if mario goes upward
   iterate through all objects
find the "most objects in one line" where the camera is below mario

/* You need this to make it entertainable since this way you will see everything except mario for a few frames. Every 1-frame blinks and sick things are intended because I learned this for years. */

[1:21, 1:24]
if mario goes forward
   iterate through all objects
find the "most objects in one line" where the camera is in front of mario while facing backward

/* I learned this from star wars, looks amazing, you think it's over AND NO it's continues and it's over AND NO i....... */

[1:50, 3:11]
if mario is boring
try to move the camera rapidly back and forth

/* One of my favourite trick, sometimes mario goes BIG then small it's amazing, no need to borrow big mario and small mario costumes */

SPECIAL EFFECT [3:00]
if mario goes anywhere
if there's only a few objects that could hide mario
try to get an angle to get below the whole level

/* This will makes sure that when mario jumps, everyone will thinks that he transforms into lava, this way we don't need blue screen. I'm very good */

SPECIAL EFFECT 2 [1:45, 4:22]
if mario goes anywhere
aim with the camera at mario with few degrees fewer to get a "mario is amazingly fast"

/* I learned this from 2fast2furious, since mario was tired I thought it will be very funny to make crazy offsets so sonic should die recklessly */
Also here's a helpful guide for the authors, directly from the Guidelines, your welcome. Camera position and angles Avoid quickly wobbling the camera or playing field around, producing seizure inducing video. Have the camera focus on the action, allowing the viewer to see as much relevant material as possible. Keep the zoom level far enough that everything that needs to be seen is seen, but not so far that the action is incomprehensible. edit: of course I voted NO.
