Napoleon, I am having to do a lot of research on figuring out what to do with this TAS. The optimization is not what I'm concerned with, but how it will be treated along-side any other future submissions. If you could, please reach out to me so that we can discuss some details.
Okay, I've sent you a PM. Hope I can help with whatever is going on.

I'll see for more WipeOut games later. For the time being I'm working on an any% of the first one, for which I developed the tools and now that I am efficient and committed to it. WipeOut 64 is definitely the next on my list.

I've just upgraded my BizHawk to 2.8 for my PSX run, and I have an annoying bad setting (I guess), where I can set inputs for all buttons (except for the directions) without any issue, but if I click anywhere in the timeline on one of the 4 directions it directly fills the whole associated column. Anyone already had this issue ?

However, I am disappointed that this run does not include all the tracks, I really see no reason not to. Should this TAS get published, a new version that does all the tracks should be able to obsolete it.
I will work on that and on an any% eventually, but this TAS was just intended to be a showcase. I would gladly obsolete my own TAS...

Thanks. I was very surprised that such an iconic game does not have any TAS (easily) available. And instead of running for the fastest run, I thought that running with the most difficult ship to handle in the fastest class would actually be the most interesting to prepare and to watch, as clearly those races are far from being doable by a human with such a pace and such a luck. If people enjoy this TAS, now that I've spent so many hours to understand its detailed mechanics, I could try (and invent) other categories such as an any%, a firestar run, or any other category that you would like to see.

Did you submit the right file? The video is like 16 minutes but the input file is very short. If you upload to userfiles and link that userfile in the replies, we can fix that for you.
You are right, I attached a wrong file. I have uploaded a new one in my userfiles.

OK, I've better understood the way the game calculates speed, and I could already improve your score Spikestuff. I'll come back with a much cleaner TAS !

Great, well done. May I use your file so that it already includes your corrections ? I'll revisit each event and do my best to achieve the best results. The next submission will be more solid for sure !

Sure, feel free to modify everything you want, this is not supposed to be "my" TAS. This is my very, very first time in TAS and I'm still pretty bad with the tools so my apologies if things are sometimes wrong. I'm a complete beginner and any feedback from you guys will allow me to propose something better next time. I hope this is a good basis for anyone who would want to give it a try.
