I'm out of the TAS scene for some years, didn't even remembered I was subscribed to this topic. I wish you luck, Dooty. I really hope you can beat my time.

None of then are 0 frames lost, and as i said, my strategy was get 55 after K3 (to go back only one time), so i was forced to get some coins out-of-way. If you plan to get the banana birds with the gyrocoptar, then you have 15 full stages more than me to get the same amount of coins, which means that most of my not-so-good coins are forbbidden to you. Anyway, good luck and i hope to see a great job.

Here's the list of the coins and how many frames (All aren't correct, but still) you lose to take them. I'm not sure that all coins are included, but most of them.
Thanks, that a great list, but it differs from mine. After i compared it, i get the following: I didnt found: -One in Skidda's Row -Squeals on Whells -Krac-Shot Kroc (the 2 on beggining) I found and he not: -One in Riverside Race (after the first coin, drop on water, and stay close to the left wall), but its too much out of way. -Low-G Labyrinth (After the first row of red bees, jump to the left before drop). That was one of my route to 55-before-K3 -Rocket Barrel Ride (out of way too) -Tracker Barrel Trek (just on the start, over the barrel, before the big dudes) -6 (total) on Krevice Keepers. I couldn't relate his finds with mines, so a full list is there: 1) After the two first barrels, roll to right and get the coin (out of way) 2) Below first bonus, throw Kiddy on ground (slow) 3) Near Koin. Throw the partner in the clear spot (slow) 4) After second bonus, go up, then go down by the bee rope, and when you is going to climb the rope, jump to left (was on my list to-do) 5) after coin 4, jump on barrel, jump the TNT guy and drop before the first bee. Throw Kiddy on ground (MUCH slow) 6) On the final flag. Throw Kiddy (slow) -Barrel Drop Bounce (out of way a lot. Get Parry, pass the first bee, and jump left to hit a fat bird) Thats my list. I hope this could help in some way.

According with my profile, my last visit was at least one year ago. Too much trouble to have time to TAS. (And i'm in a translation project by now) I never knew how to scan for variable to find speed (yes, i tried), so that is a big "why i lost my thrill on the TAS". I'm perfectionist, and do a non-optimal run (knowing this fact) is like buy a Xbox by the price of a 360. In my run, i was planning to get 55 silver coins after i finished K3, so i could come back only once. I didn't advance enough to test the speed, but in my (insane) mind, i think its faster than get it with the gyrocopter, because that is the only time that i need to reenter any stage. Get the present and the 55 coins, back, buy both itens, trade the shell, get the flower, get the bowling ball, shoot yourself, and trade the mirror. I had an list of all the SC on all the stages until K3, so i could get a list of what-to-catch and what-to-avoid.

Nice to see that someone is doing a better work than mine. I'm waiting to see the full movie when you finish it. Good luck to both, Tompa and ElectroSpecter. I really wanted to finish it myself, but RL get nice tricks on us sometimes...

Just one sentence: Doorstop Dash is one of the top 5 stages that i REALLY hate TAS. I do not give up (yet) of this TAS. I just sit in front of the computer, check my mails, look to my icon of the emulator and think "doordtop dash". Half of my motivation gone XD But i'm very sure that when i finish this stage i'll advance faster.

IE7 is a shameful ripoff of Firefox in almost every single way.
My initial reaction was "Whoa... this looks just like FireFox."
Just to say... My initial reaction when i saw Firefox was "This is like Opera, but without the good things"

I don't know... Beast headbutting Juggernaut's Crotch is the screen that "stops" the fight, so it con be viewed to anyone. It's the reason that i not suggest the cyclops facing left when his blast go right (in the end of his stage).

You instaled the driver to your pad? Normally it's come with it, if you buy one in a shop. If it have the driver, just go to config and press the pad button instead of some key.

Just to hep the "todo"s, i'll show some good screens: 14403 - Gambit stand in midair 28224 or 32611 - Psylocke showing her "non-hit" knee rising 43183 - Beast grabbing the upper platform 43643 - Beast using a small glitch to don't be hitten 56351 - Good Magneto screen, with the iron bars making an X The description can be something like this:
This is the better X-men game to the SNES. This game have the beaten-all format and 5 differents X-men to choice, anyone with different powers. The author completed it killing the minions the fastest possible time and taking no damage. Majority of the bosses even have a chance to move.
And you forget the (A.k.a: Nibelung) in the front page =] Thanks for the encoding. I was waiting for a long time to my first publishing movie. Now i just want my player status to be happy forever XD

Tinypic is the best "small" image host that i ever found. First because the image is only deleted if it was not seen by a month or more (for an avatar... never). Second, because they ever give you a small link. Third, because the main page is very light. Just to load ImageShack or Photobucket i have to wait some seconds (256k connection ><). Just a sugestion: Nobody can just merge this topic with the other?

You're going to need to find some alternate hosting, such as Imageshack or Photobucket, or wherever
Tinypic is a great image hosting too. And i like the small url that he grants.

And now Kiddy can double roll whenever he wants?!?
I discovered by accident (doh). If you start to roll when you don't have full speed, then you can do an double roll. It's a rule in every DKC game because everyone can double-roll in the beggining and after come from a bonus. If you roll when you have full speed, you need to jump, or you'll stop for a little after the roll. I release Y one frame before jump, jump, and hold Y again. And when i'm 3~5 frames from he ground, i release-hold again Y. So i lost some speed when i start jumping (because i don't have full speed in the moment i jumped), and roll again in the first possible frame. The engine thinks that i still don't have the full speed and allow me to do the double-roll. I demonstrate this after the second bonus two times: When i passed the fat bird, and after kill the last Kremling. I'm not sure if this will work in the other games, but if works, then Diddy will be more impressive in the future. =] [EDIT]
Do you have a complete list of DKC3 tricks/glitches that I could add?
By now, i know the anytime double-roll (detailed above), the jump start (except when the ceil is low, start jumping and holding Y is faster than start with a double roll. I'll test if i could do an double roll after the starting jump), and the DK bounce (in the first 5 frames after Koin is hitted, the DK coin have a different hitbox, and with good calculations, you can kill Koin, bounce back, and catch the DK. I used this in Murky Mill and Squeal on Wheels in my V3). If i remember more, i'll MP you.

I'm still busy, but yesterday was a Holiday here. So, i have time to finish the first stage. I made an route change, and applied some new tricks (like the anytime-double roll). The banana bonus is very close to perfect (i couldn't manipulate the last banana to appear on ground), and after all i have a 89 frames gain! Lakeside Limbo V4. Enjoy =] I'll try to finish Doorstop Dash this weekend, but i don't promisse nothing.

BSPlayer and WMP have playlists too. I think that RealPlayer have they too. BS Player playlist is just a little... hidden.

TASing has taken away my ability to play around with some platformers. Nowdays I just try to beat them as fast as I can (DKC and Mega Man 2 for example) which usually makes me game over a lot faster than usual.
Haha, same here! And theres absolutely nothing I can do to change it! :(
More play, less TAS. If you TAS "everyday", take one day or two to only play unassisted that game. You can find good knowledge of the stages and maintain your ability to play unassisted. During my DKC3 run i every time play the next stage 4 or 5 times unassisted to learn the route. And i could finish it everytime without savestates or slowdown. Just TAsing, ake your ability away all the time. I didn't believe that i die in the Giant Land on SMB3. In my good times i finished the game dying just on Pipe Land (without warps, of course).

1 week without notice... and i need to tell that i have bad news. My boss is entering in vacation, and i'll be in his place until 2007. The problem is: Normally i have an 6-hours job. Now i have an 9-hours + 2 "lunch time" (i just have one hour... i need to make an extra hour to get out later). So, i don't have time to TASing this month, sorry. I finished half of the Lakeside Limbo (tested in a lot of ways... really), and i saved 14 frames until now. and i catched the extra 2 bear coins (what is slower than my previous route). I'm stacked in manipulating the banana bonus. I just don't have time enough to test everything before fall sleeping (REALLY fall sleeping). Só, see you after the new year. Everyone have a nice xmas =]

Ok, now i discovered something in DKC3 that i think that changed... if i let Y go off when i'm rolling, i not lose speed. I just dont gain speed. This is bad when i have to roll when i don't gained full speed, but i can use this more now. Ah, and if i press Y before the roll end after i get it off, the roll finish with a "stop" animation, dont matter how much speed i have.

I voted No. And don't read the entire topic, just the submission text. The video was boring in some parts, like the repeated use of ground fireballs, Kung Lao infinite combo, and very few glitched fatalities. The air babality was good, like the aerial Shang Tsung's Fatality. I loved the screen glitch of Scorpion's Lair. But it's only. The rest of this movie is just much of the same: The longest ground combo, plus a squence of juggles finished with a projectile. But i was in doubt if the movie is bad-choosed, or the game is few-glitched. I decided that was a mix of both. MK2 run was much more impressive, as like the KI movie. This game just isn't good enough to give a good TAS. All the moves can be done by an experient player.

My little mistakes that can be corrected: -Lakeside Limbo: I can stand with dixie for a little more and catch the Bear Coin over the house. This can made me avoid one harder Bear Coin later; -Doorstop Dash: Use the jump in the ropes instead of climbing; -Verify if is faster catch the Banana Bird now, or when i'm back to talk with Barnacle. -Tidal Trouble: W barrel -Skida's Row: Little slopes. Snow stages is the hardest to measure if some way is faster or no. -Murky Mill: W barrel Just to give some exemples. I believe that in others stages i could save more time.
and, uh, get some more sleep. It'll help, trust me.
I'm TASing better when i'm fall sleeping. I just lose patience to redo a stage if i see an error XD

Maybe more than a minute by level that i'll use the Warp barrel. My shot is that i could gain 5 minutes or more just because of this choose. I prefer not use the W barrel, but since i'll start again, why not do this?
