I'm having a problem with FCEUX sound popping. it's nowhere near as bad as in that video, though. My processor is an intel Core 2 Quad 6600. Setting the video config to "Lazy wait for VBlank" didn't help, I've tried every combination of messing with the sound settings I can think of, and Setting the affinity to just 1 CPU didn't make any difference either.

320x240?! Ouch! I don't think my screen even goes down that low. But I have a pretty high-end machine; I listed above that I have an AMD Athlon64x2 3800+, but I'll add that I also have 1GB of RAM and a GeForce 6600 GT. The drivers should also be current (at least as current as the latest version of FCEU). I know there are workarounds, but I'd still like to play in Fullscreen mode and it's still a bug that crashes the program.

Still, It crashes the program, and I'd still prefer my fullscreen mode. Regardless, it seems to be a bug.

I love this guy. Of course I don't agree with everything he says (hell, if you read his website, even he doesn't agree with everything he says). I find that things like AVGN and X-Play (yeah, I said it, who wants some?) are much more entertaining, and sometimes only entertaining if you don't take them seriously. I thought Castlevania II was a great game with a few flaws. (I wouldn't mind the transition from day to night if it happenned less frequently.) The Power Glove episode is definately my favorite. Especially the rant at the end. I love how over-the-top he is. If it's not your taste, then that's fine, but the guy has definately found an audience. Go on YouTube and look at how many ripoffs there are of him.

Sorry if this issue was addressed elsewhere, but I'm having a problem with FCEU 0.98.15 Whenever I try to switch to fullscreen mode, i get an error "DirectDraw: Error creating secondary surface." It seems to happen 1n 16bit and 32bit color modes and regardless of what resolution I set it to. I'm using DirectX 9.0c on a winXP (32bit) machine with an AMD64x2 3800+

I tried watching it in CORE, and it seems to be going at 2x speed, but it does have sound.

Hey Bag I saw your WIP on Mega Man 3. I wanted to see Dustman's level get torn apart but for some reason your movie ends in Snake Man's level.
You know that "WIP" stands for "Work in Progress," right? Chibee. How cute.

a word of advice: don't try to speedrun a game that auto-scrolls.

I love these rockman runs; I'm in the middle of watching this one right now, but I do have a question: wouldn't it have been faster to get a small refill on your Item #1 and zip through the corridor to Airman?

I'm voting yes, not because it was an entertaining movie, but because I thought that your strategy was very clever and I always love it when a TASer disects the code to find new and amazing strategies.

I hadn't played this game (I actually thought that Breakthru was a ripoff of Breakout) and I can only think of one way to make this run more interesting: Destroy every target. a 100% accuracy run. I have no idea if it's possible, but that's all I got.

I played this game, and I agree that Rockman is very difficult to use, as the game seems to be made with Forte in mind. And to get all 100 CDs and without taking a hit. I love it. I'd vote yes if I could.

and It get's even more complicated because of the inverse telecide. a tv shows 59.94 interlaced half-frames per second, but film is shot at only 23.98 frames per second, so they duplicate every 4th frame, which jacks it up to 29.97 FPS, then they split them in half and show 59.94 of those every second. Like I said, it get's complicated. But North American video games should be running at a solid 60 FPS.

I just watched this run and read through all the comments, and I can't wait for the hacked SonicCam video. I saw the prelim. avis and It reminded me of the Zelda II run, and I think that runs like this are the best part of this site. Given the option, I'd definately vote yes if I could.

Absolutely incredible! I used to play this game on my NES, but I don't remember those red vials at all! I'd definately vote yes if I could.

I loved it. and For those of you whom haven't played this game, let me just add that It was known for it's difficulty, (as well as being the first game to include cutscenes between levels (it's a shame they had to be removed)), so it's especially entertining to those of us whom never beat the game.

I've never played this game either, but since alot of the movie is either a blank screen or a transition to/from a blank screen, maybe this isn't a good TAS game.

hmmm, good point. I guess he would end up losing any time he'd gain by doing that in trying to make the xp up elsewhere. BTW: I loved this run. I like the path you took, but I really love the whirlwind slash. Believe it or not, I think I saw the guy that did Zelda II on SDA do this when he was fighting the thunderbird (purely by accident if you read his notes)

Here's what I thought was odd. (BTW: I'm posting this immediately after seeing it, so I haven't watched the whole movie yet; but...) There's a rather well known trick/bug that I used to use on occasion (This was my game back in "the day," as they say.) While you're gaining XP (especially after placing a crystal in a palace, but anytime, really) and you do an UP+A gamebreak, but don't reset or turn off the power, when you start another game, you will resume gaining XP, even if you are using a different game file. What I'm saying is that it is not neccessary to wait for your XP to accumulate before doing an UP+A warp. you could save ~1 second here. since the game starts over tho, this did not look like luck manipulation.

I remember this game. I got it the same christmas that I got Mega Man 3. Both were rather dissapointing. But I do remember this game and it plays exactly like you would expect a game made by a low profile developer using a warner bros license to play, completely average. And yes, I admit, I played it alot. In retrospect, I'm not really sure why, but there was just something about that game that when I was looking through my collection of ~40 NES carts, I would get to that one and think, "Hmm..I haven't played that one in a while." Does anyone else think that the desert level music sounds like that christmas song that goes "It's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you..."
