Just got myself an iMac and have downloaded BizHawk and Mono and BizHawk just crashes as soon as I try opening it. Anyone have any ideas what could be happening or is there a way I can get a log so someone can check and see what the problem could be? EDIT - Nevermind, I was using the latest version of Mono (5.something) and just downloaded 4.2 instead and it's working now.

I have upgraded to 1.12.2 and Genesis game genie codes are working fine now. Also appear to be working on NES games too. Still not working on SNES games though. Have tried several games and all codes have come from GameGenie.com direct. Games tried on are Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Mario All Stars, Animaniacs and Megaman X.

I am using the latest edition of BizHawk (1.12.1) and am having problems with using cheat codes on any game on any system. I am obtaining the codes from gamegenie.com so they are the legit codes but they don't appear to work in the games. I am using the Game Genie converter to enter them and the codes are being copied and pasted to make sure there are no mistakes. I have tried codes for NES, SNES and Genesis (MegaDrive) games but none of them work. Anyone else experiencing problems or is there something I'm doing wrong? They worked before for me on older versions of BizHawk so can't understand why they aren't now. I have deleted all the old .cht save files in order to add the new cheats to the game too but still have no success. Thanks guys and gals!

Oops, I had installed over 1.11.6. Silly me. I have now deleted everything and started again and it works now. Thanks. :) Loving that I can now use two Xbox360 controllers with all the games and now can play against friends instead of taking turns!

I have updated to 1.11.7 and have tried playing some N64 games. The program runs with a strange sized window and nothing happens. The X button to close is off the screen but I can close it through File. Then when I close it I get a pop-up telling me the following:-
Runtime Error!

R6031 - Attempt to initialise the CRT more than once. This indicates a bug in your application.
How do I fix this so I can play N64 games again? Thanks.

Anyone know roughly when the 1.11.7 update will be ready for release? :)

Ahh... That wasn't mentioned in the compiling guide. I will try that tonight then and see how I get on. Thanks.

Well, I managed to compile it just fine following all the instructions to the letter. Only problem I encountered was that SNES games wouldn't open, but NES games did just fine. I wonder what I did wrong or didn't do to get SNES games working...

Oh, that would be great. Where can I get a copy of the development build? It is listed publicly or so I need to ask someone for it privately? Would love to get a copy of it for using tonight as a friend is calling over and I would like to play 2P with him instead of having to take turns in 1P!

Ok. Thanks for that. Glad to hear it's in the pipeline. Hopefully the next release isn't too far away then. :)

The second controller is always plugged in so it was already there before BizHwk was started up. Windows recognises it as a second controller and it works on other applications, but not in Bizhawk sadly.

I have a wired XBOX360 controller that I use with my laptop to play games on BizHawk. Everything works fine. But, when I try to plug another one in to play a 2P game with a friend, the laptop recognises it as a second controller but BizHawk doesn't and doesn't recognise button presses when mapping the buttons. Any ideas on what the problem could be or how I can get 2P working fine. I have tried a USB Playstation 3 controller but it lags and there are phantom button presses etc so it is unplayable. Thanks.

I use BizHawk with an XBOX360 controller and have never had any problems.

were the .saveram and the .sav the same size?
Yes, they are both 128kb. I have renamed the .sav to .SaveRAM to match others in the file, but it doesn't work. EDIT - Not sure what went wrong the first time, but I deleted all the files and started again from scratch and now have it working. Thanks!

But these files are .sav and Bizhawk uses .saveram, so should I just be able to rename the file and it works? I've tried that and it doesn't! Sorry if I come across as dumb, I'm new to all this!

I have a save file with it all unlocked already, but how do I load it into Bizhawk. I thought it could only be done in another emulator like Virtual Boy Advance? I don't see the Import / Batery option in Bizhawk.

Is it possible to access extra features on certain games that have e-reader add-ons, like Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros. 3? If so, how do I load them? Thanks.

Zeromus, I'm also using BizHawk 1.11.1 and it doesn't have that option. Perhaps you could tell us how you fixed this then? Has that option moved to somewhere else in settings?

That's a shame, I just got Mario Paint and wanted to have a go. Is an input selector something that's planned for a future update?

That's a shame. Is there anything I can do or a different display setting I can try to lessen this effect?

When playing some MegaDrive/Genesis games, the window resizes itself during gameplay, some screens like the Sega logo appear full size, then some title screens and game meus appear squashed, then it returns to normal for the gameplay itself. Is there an option to turn off automatic resizing? I've looked and changed lots of different display options but nothing seems to be working. Many thanks :)
