Damn, beats the old run by two minutes, and utilizes the new arbitrary code execution in SMB3. Hell yeah. Yes vote.

I don't know if the unlocking run is necessary, Weatherton. D-Pad Down, D-Pad Down, D-Pad Left, D-Pad Left, D-Pad Left, D-Pad Right, D-Pad Right, D-Pad Right, C-Down, C-Down, C-Left, C-Left, C-Left, C-Right, C-Right, C-Right is a code you can use at the "Press Start" screen to unlock all of the unlockable characters, including Metal Mario. Also, why not tournament mode?

I haven't seen a lot of action going on with Mario Golf on TASVideos. I didn't even think there was a forum on this. I've recently become interested in maybe TASing this game. I've seen some TASes of Mario Golf on YouTube. I've find that the most optimal ones were uploaded by TempestWay. He has uploaded several. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pTbwteferk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPEUqavlIJ4 These are just the first two that I happened to find.

I think this speedrun is better. This honestly isn't so bad of a game choice IMO. But it isn't optimized enough. I honestly feel that this game deserves a better reputation than what it has so that submissions of this game could be more optimized. No

So... Nobody's really been TASing this so I decided I'd post something for the few people who likely will be interested. Here's some useful info. RAM Adresses: 0598 X Big 05A3 X Small 05AE X Sub 05C4 Y 05CF Y Sub 05DA Horizontal Speed 05E5 Horizontal Speed Sub 05F0 Vertical Speed 05FB Vertical Speed Sub When walking right at full speed, his speed alternates between 1.56 and 1.80 Left, -2.176 & -2.200 Running Right, 2.136 & 2.160 Running Left, -3.96 & -3.120 For whatever reason, the left valus aren't truly the left values but whatever, that's what the RAM watch said. I'll figure out more stuff later.

Nice TAS. I wish I spoke Japanese. (My stupid high school only offers español, français, and deutsche :( ). ¡Yo se un poco español, pero no se japonés!

Haven't heard of the game. I like the music. Pachelbel's Canon in D, a classic. Overused, but still a classic! I also like the TAS and the gameplay! Good work, Dammit! I actually liked the TAS. Can't say that about many RPGs! A YES from me!

You do realize on the underground in 1-1 you can go through the blocks? And BTW the pipe gllitch happens when you jump through something backwards, dislocating Mario from the center of the screen and confusing the game. And what do fireworks have to do with coins? The only reason for avoiding fireworks is to save in-game time However, I do like your goal for the game. All of the TASes other than the warped and warpless speedruns seem to be "minimum points". But you are going for "no coins", it is a more entertaining topic than "minimum points". Plus you don't have to wait for the time to go to zero. I'm sorry but I have to go with a NO. But I'll be excited for your future TASes.

Good run, but it oddly feels really, really long for being only three minutes long. Regardless, I approve. Also, I recognize the cave song as being a remix of the cave song found in the NES Addams Family; is there some other Addams leitmotif I am unfamiliar with?
Agreed, it does feel long, but this is one of my favorite video games to watch TASes of. I've seen all 3 versions. I could swear I saw mistakes but maybe it is for luck manipulation? I don't know. Anyways, it is very impressive exploiting nice glitches. So I say YES leaning more towards MEH

Isn't there like only 2 versions of the ROM and I think one of them is glitchy and only allows 4 worlds to be done then it randomly glitches to the end screen.

YAYZ! NSMB! Love the TAS. I like the optimization tricks. And the new DeSmuME emulator removes the annoying lag
