On the contrary, the only reason I am mentioning it is because I do not want to see yet another run without any intense thought and planning into making it both fast and entertaining. If anyone should run this game, it should be adelikat and JXQ. In the incredibly likely event that they tell me to go shove the game into a 'recticular region', I would suggest anyone daring to run the game take pointers from the goals of their River City Ransom game. You know... Speed != Entertainment and all that...
... I hearby copyright the word 'recticular'.

Wait so there's a newer 1P run in the works?
Judging by how the cycle of this topic works, I assume someone's going to pick it up and try it shortly, just because they feel theres high demand for it and they can be famous.

What I do love about this topic is that the same discussion has looped at least twice (oh lets make a speedrun! sure, but how about this? nah, that won't do, how about vs mode! gah, too hard, lets just makea'normal'runinstead!). I guess thats the downside to massive forum threads...
This means a new 1P run is coming up though, which I look forward to watching while hoping it won't make me vote 'meh' or 'no'.

If there was a vote, I would vote it being changed globally to superplay. There are some games in this world that deserve to be more than just played as fast as possible.

Its an interesting concept. I'm not sure if I would have a practical use for it as I don't have a server right now (and even if I did, I would probably use a KVM switch).

I feel this should be placed in this topic, mainly because it still is technically a screenshot of my desktop.
My new toy in Vista.
Link to program: http://insentient.net/
Multimonitor support. x86 and x64 support. Requires Vista and Aero. Not a ripoff of a Mac feature at all.

In that case... If all you are asking is for someone to TAS it and for Bisqwit to give special permissions to have it on the site, the chances of that happening are pretty much zero. I highly doubt enough has changed since the previous topic for this stance to change.
If you do change your mind and decide to TAS it, there are plenty of resources to help you and some people that would gladly guide you through certain (though probably not all) aspects of TASing variants of SMW.

In the interest of kindness, though partially because I loved how retardedly determined funguy10 was towards his SMW:TSRP2 cause (seriously, read from page 8 onwards in the topic linked by mmbossman), I have provided the two three most important quotes from the whole topic which pretty much sum it up.

I played through the first world +1.5 levels of this game and was not impressed. The game is hard simply for the sake of being hard, the levels look like a bunch of sprites shot-gunned into a level editor, and I don't like the colors. Things that were added in to make the game seem new and improved, such as the death shrooms, the shells you have to bounce on twice to stop, and the block-activating-switch didn't seem to enhance the quality of play. It just seemed like they were put in because they thought adding new features would make their game a good hack or something, without regard to why they picked the features they did.

Guys,
Quoted from the big man himself:
[19:18:49] <Bisqwit> > It has to be notable (stands above every other hack for that game), for a good game, and stable&final (updates aren't to be expected), and entertaining to watch being played, and significantly different from the actual game
I think this means we won't be having any more accepted hacks of the SMW engine, since if nothing else, they'd all (except SDW) fail on the first point.
By all means though, you're welcome to make a TAS, even if it isn't likely to be published here. Who knows, maybe Bisqwit would change his mind on the matter after seeing a test run. Failing that, I'm sure a certain 'rival' website would take your run at least.
Edit: This could probably be considered somewhat important too:

In my opinion (based solely on the screenshots on its homepage), it looks too unprofessional.
It is guilty of the following offenses:
- Trying to cram everything between earth and heaven into that game
- Lacking a consistent style.
When I look at the screenshots, I feel like I'm looking at five different games.
And the level design sometimes looks like it's straight from a random generator. Challenges for the sake of challenge, without a spirit behind. Graphics for the sake of graphics, without a connecting theme. What's Kirby doing there? Sonic level graphics?
Too many of the screenshots are coloured like some carneval. It just cries out, "unprofessional".
Does not reach anywhere near Super Demo World, except in laboursomeness. Though, SDW has some warts too...

I cannot believe I'm suggesting this but...
does Anti Desync Mupen work? (open 7z with 7zip or winRAR..)
antids mupen stores states slightly differently along with the flashram. If it doesn't work, it could mean its more than a savestate issue. I'll check into it more later today.

The PJ64 screen is just all black. Is there a way to fix this? I don't like having to close and re-open PJ64 all the time, which is a LOT, because I often close my top every half hour or so.
This sounds like a Vista thing. Basically the Direct3D viewport just screws over when the computer goes through the login screen. Solution: switch to an OpenGL video plugin and your problems will be 'solved'. glN64 works nicely for most games, but Rice in OpenGL mode is quite nice too.
Also, I hate your name with a passion.

Just thought I'd mention something that I saw in the SDA 100% run.
On top of the clock tower, deku link spins underneath the skull kid before firing his bubble. skull kid then drops the ocarina onto link, then after the mini-cutscene finishes link immediately picks it up.
Would this not be quicker than what you did in the first version of the run?

If I'm not completely mistaken, a particle with no rest mass at all (such as a photon) cannot travel at any other speed than c. There's some physical reason for this, AFAIK. Any particle traveling at a speed lower than c has rest mass (and thus cannot travel at c).
I remember there was something like this written in A Brief History of Time but unfortunately I no longer have the book, nor remember the specifics. So heres a question for this topic:
What is the theory above called and who came up with it?

No, the speed of light is the absolute constant in the universe. Even black holes don't affect the speed of photons, they can only affect their trajectory.
I'd just like to clarify that the speed of light in a vacuum is an absolute constant. Light has been slowed successfully in the past. This BBC article has suitable coverage of the phenomena.

Though it does look somewhat angular/retro and generally cool, I must ask if that whole window manager/theme affects your productivity in anyway. I mean, the whole 1-menu-driven thing seems a bit too tedious to travel through for me, but I would appreciate a view from someone who uses it.
Also, Cardboard's desktop = winnar.

people have asked before. "flash game" using the all keywords button as well as searching only in Off topic generates a few results which likely would have helped.

They were armed with something that is designed to look like a weapon. Just because it wasn't a real gun doesn't mean they didn't try to get the money through a means of putting the clerk's life in apparent danger.
