That was really fun to watch :) So I assume this will be the X any% version?
No, he said 100%, i assume that he will pick the heart container when he gets the arm upgrade, since it's faster to use charged rising fire to get it instead of jumping from the other side. And for the Body Part, he needs arm and Twin Slasher.

I am curious to know what this "improvement" is. Also, what is this new trick being spoken of?
Look at the MMX3 100% Thread on the SNES Section.

I know there are also a PlayStation version and a Saturn version of this game. Do you think there are differences between the SNES version and these ones?
PSX and SS have horrible Soundtrack (compared to SNES) and PSX has a glitch where you can go to the final stages without fighting any of the reploids. IIRC that's all. EDIT: Forgot to say that it also has cutscenes.

Just take in mind that these kind of things always get to happen, remember my Zero 3 TAS?, after i submitted it, someone who no one else knew and that never posted ANYTHING, just submitted another TAS with some demolishing improvements over mine in another category, just try to think how you would feel if my run would get rejected and you were in my place.

Fast repeating jumps look like this run, it's funny for me. But, it seems not to be same for everyone... 100% route planning: 1. Dragoon 2. Spider (Foot) (req. Rising Fire) 3. Owl (Arm) (req. Lightning Web) 4. Walrus (req. Rising Fire) 5. Colonel 6. Stingray 7. Beast 8. Dragoon (Body) (req. Arm & Twin Slasher) 9. Mushroom (req. Arm, Foot & Rising Fire to use this trick) 10. Peacock (Head) I planned to beat Walrus to get Frost Tower before fight with Colonel. Arm part is useful for Mid-boss in Walrus level. Does anyone have other good idea?
It looks good to me.
Rolanmen1, I'm wondering just why we are waiting for a PSXjin update? I don't think much, if anything important would change unless there would be a complete overhaul in timing or movie format. Also, I think sparky could do either any% X or 100% X if he wants. I see that he's way more motivated to do it than me at least. If you want, maybe you two could work together?
Idk, that's what you told me iirc, or maybe im making things. But you are right in the sense of lack of motivation too. About joining sparky, i would like it, but i rather do Any% instead of 100%.

Nobody seems to work on this game for a long time... So I'm planning to make this again. Intro Link to video Microstrage has not accepted pjm yet, so I uploaded video instead of movie file... Perhaps, this will be 100% run.
As we told you a long time ago, me and Mothrayas are planning to work on it, but we plan to wait for the new version of PSXjin. Ours will be Any%, but, i feel like i shouldn't make you wait more to do this TAS, since apparently, you've wanted to do this since a long time. About your WIP, your jumps killed my ears, everything except that looks great, not sure if it's faster to use 2 charged shots on the boss in the way you did (Atma used one charged shot to finish him), but i think both may be the same.

I realy like watching someone to TAS a game i know, but as DarkKobold said most people find it boring to sit there watching someone load a savestate 21267893 times.

In turn 3 of chapter 2, why did Marcus counter those soldiers with a hand axe? I would expect it to be faster to stay out of their range that turn, and just let them attack without a counter next turn..
What he said Chapter 3 - Turn 1-2 Instead of using Lance to kill some those enemies, why not use the Fighter nearer, doing that, Lance wouldn't get a level up (i don't see why you want to level up him). Im also a bit unsure to Roy getting level ups. For what notable chapters you want him to survive that much?

Made this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iKZ6zVjLRw It shows a new lua script im working on, it is very simple, it shows the weapon exp counter for each weapon (Buster exp, buster pellets counter, Saber exp, Air slash counter, dash slash counter, Triple Rod exp and Shied Boomerang Counter). It will also put an asterisk when said exp counter gets to the last level. I know that the Triple Rod and Shield Boomerang counters are useless for TASing, but i just put them for sake of completition. It also shows Zero's HP, Inv Frames, Dash Counter and Charge Counter for both weapons. I plan to put more stuff into it, like Mission Points, Enemies Killed Points, etc. With that you would guess how many points you would get at the end of the mission to get in a specific Rank. In the other hand, i wanted it to show Boss's HP and Inv Frames, but it was impossible for me since there are 3 adresses and while one of them is the one that work, the other 2 apparently work for something else. I also may do this for the other Zero games.

Thanks. Up to Ch15 Saving 33098 Frames (09:11.63). Used the mine glitch so Florina could avoid most of the phases and using it, Eliwood/Florina wouldn't need to kill the boss.

Up to Ch13 Recruited Guy to use his Killing Edge, it should realy speed up some enemy phases later, saving 29294 Frames (08:08.23) Compared to Nitrodon's Test Run.

Hmm, i think you could have saved a bit of time if you wouldn't pick that Grenade Bombs in Mission 4, since you finished the boss with 2 Shotgun Shots and 7 Grenades, those Shotgun Shots would do enough damage to kill it. Anyways, this deserve a yes vote.

Due to a bug posted by VincentASM on FESS, I saved an additional 1166 frames (19s26f) in chapter 9. The preparation for optimal use of the bug goes back to chapter 6, so any savestates you may have after that won't work. People who don't like Lyn's normal mode will enjoy this trick. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2205/FE7.vbm I'm still foolishly hoping for a better chapter 8 manipulation, so at this rate I'll never reach Eliwood's mode.
The Japanese made a faster record (J) Time 12:46 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm14049543 http://winback.web.fc2.com/nicovideo/?sm14049543
This run starts from SRAM to go to Lyn Hard Mode, not acceptable, playing after beating the game allows units to move realy fast by holding A. He apparently wasn't aware about some glitches that Nitrodon found out. He also didn't have a good RNG management. He didn't got some level ups on Florina, so he won't make her Lv10 before getting the Elysian Whip, unless he wastes too much time training her. Anyway, finished Ch10, my run is slower by like 1 minute, meaning that his run is realy sub-optimal. My run is faster by 3837 Frames (01:03.95) compared to Nitrodon's WIP, and 22129 Frames (06:08.82) compared to Nitrodon's Test Run. WIP

"when I load a savestate while recording a movie it always tells me "movie recording stopped", how can I make it record?" --> That shouldn't be. Do you use Read-only toggle? I'm imagining that you are loading a state that you just saved, while in read-only mode, then advance a frame. In that case the movie recording will stop. You need to use Read+write mode when you want to overwrite your progress and you need to use Read only when you want to rewatch a part of your progress (the loaded state must be from the current movie).
Excuse me, but how can I enable the Read+Write mode?
Usually by pressing Shift+8, if that doesn't toogle it, check the hotkeys, you could also change the keys to whatever you want

Up to Ch3, saving 2405 frames comparing to Nitrodon's WIP. WIP I tried to get 2 criticals in the enemy phase of Turn2, but at the end, it was slower than just getting 1.

So theoretically, it is possible to level the Saber up to max (seven star?) level, solely by slashing Ciel repeatedly? (While dodging the Golem's attacks, of course.) How long would that take, in an optimized TAS demonstration? Ten minutes or less?
Well, there's one saber lever that requires 60 dash slash that can't be obtained through this, but all the others can be reached. hmm, i could do a demonstration on getting all saber levels, getting Quick Charge Saber.

OMG, this just makes me want to see the final results. Also, i THINK i saw an improvement, during 1:26 of that video, if you pick that line of rings with that upgrade and just do one spin instead of 2, shouldn't that be faster?

This time, you get a Yes Vote for you my friend, the run is really good. There's probably an improvement in this TAS though, in the boat part, giving the Metal Slug user a bomb set would make it a bit faster, since Metal Slug Cannon does double damage than Grenades. Anyways, keep doing a good work.

It would be appreciated if someone familiar with treasure-hunting speed runs could critique this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibsr8Nv893w I know it isn't a good encode, but I didn't have time to make a full video. I would just like some feedback...perhaps enough to sub 16:00? =)
It looks realy good sonicpacker, i also noticed that you picked it in the order it was supposed to be picked, but i think that in this case, it is the fastest route. On the other hand, it is possible that all 3 emeralds appear in the first zone?

The idea was to see if you can keep the slide-spin speed from slippery ground on normal ground by jumping on the frame you land. So slide-spin on the slippery and jump the frame just before you leave slippery, then keep jumping on the same frame that you land on regular ground... if you can keep the slide-spin on slippery speed you should be able to go quite fast for a while. Once you get super-slide I am quite sure that is the quickest move to use. Sadly I don't really have time these coming weeks to experiment with this stuff.
What Warepire is trying to say is to increased speed from slippery terrain (like ice) using the slide and then jump, when you exit the slippery terrain, keep jumping as soon as possible to keep the ice speed, if you want a demonstration, look at the Crash Bandicoot 2 TASes that uses this.
