very impressive. some of the boss fights were astounding. i give it two 8s. concerning Ultimate X, i'm doubting that's it's worth getting in a TAS. for a nonTAS, it's a must, though.

I meant that if you were segmenting and you wanted to reset, reload, retry, you should not jump in right away but play a new game or training (and game over) to change the RNG value.
oh alright. doesn't help those doing single segment speedruns, though.

i've tried it on console, and never had success. i don't think i understand what has to be done. do you have to get a game over when you first start the game? can you change the difficulty after you get the game over? regardless, i applaud you for figuring this out.

there doesn't seem to be a difference between jumping speed and walking speed. at least, not one as profound as in the SNES game. i don't believe backflipping will help.

very nicely done. though your choice of audio was odd to say the least. your sense of humor goes way over my head.

putting a restriction on glitches is one thing. but on weapons, that seems silly.

Richter all bosses
i'm kinda worried about that one being too repetetive. but that's for another thread. Julius would make the best all boss run because he doesn't have a spammable move to rape bosses with. boss fights would look very diverse and creative. it means having to sit through twice as much OOLAY, but i think we can make that sacrifice.

at that point, it might depend on which run comes first. the 100% souls run sounds like only a dream at the moment. safe to say a Julius all boss run would show up much quicker.

that was really funny. my favorite response was "butt scratcher." an easy 10 for entertainment. there's not much going on tech wise, but it's done well. 7.

but since the triple slash works differently in those games, the button sequence is pretty much the opposite. I'm not sure if it'll save any time because of how the slashes work, though.

Off course, killing all end boss under 5 seconds was on purpose... seem very logic.. its a glitch... you was not suppose to rape the bosses like that
i wasn't talking about the new SDC method. i was referring to exactly what i quoted. namely, turning around to start the second slash.

This relies on the following glitch: If Zero starts the first ground saber and turns the other way, he instantly goes into the second saber swing.
that's not a glitch. it was purposely put into the game. i'm pretty sure you can do this in X5 also. on the subject of Ultimate X, it would be pretty boring seeing the Nova Strike obliterate everything. and Black Zero would be virtually the same as the current run. i would love to see an 8boss TAS, by the way.

do i really have to put "i think" in front of everything i say? i think a natural route TAS of this game and others wouldn't fly here because i think the majority would not find it entertaining. and i think disallowing everything is a silly idea (which it feels like that's Twin Galaxies' policy, by the way. their rules are tighter than a gay man's jeans.)

sorry for not being clear. i understand the bug and the fix. i misinterpreted what arukado meant by "this was intended". i'm retarded. carry on.

Yes, I'd say that in a glitchless run you wouldn't be allowed to use the wolf kick to get to Olrox's Quarters.
that's some Twin Galaxies shit right there. i don't think even they would disallow the wolf kick. speaking of which, arukado, where's your proof that the wolf kick was put into the game intentionally? the reason you gave doesn't prove or disprove anything. i facepalm at the thought of "natural route" TAS. that's an oxymoron, as the natural route goes against everything TASes are supposed to be. namely, entertaining. the run would be nothing more than a frame advanced Let's Play. the fact that TASes are supposed to show superhuman control is already playing the game outside the manner the game creators intended. (speaking of which, you're going to have a hell of a time telling me which order of obtaining the Vlad items is intended. or better yet, telling me the intended route for Super Metroid.) and getting the Silver Ring without the Spike Breaker doesn't use a glitch or a programming oversight.

You took the wrong exemple, since they fixed maria meeting in alchemy laboratory, this was intended actually (else maria would still freeze the game while coming from her back, so they was aware of wolf dive kick and this shortcut)

the sequence breaking argument is a slippery slope. you're not supposed to get to Olrox's Quarters without the double jump. are you going to say that a runner wouldn't be allowed to skip that?

well, the Library Card is doing the actual warping there.

cpa: i guess what you're talking about would look a lot like my run? i dunno. i'm just thinking it wouldn't be different enough from this run. using Luck Mode to keep the Alucard equipment should still be used in any other run, though. there's nothing wrong with that.

the 120 star run uses BLJs.

now if you meant about 0HP glitch on aos that let you walk anywhere on the map, this is also possible in sotn... but still i dont get the point... since in aos it doesnt help speedruns
yeah it does.

definitely an awesome run. it looks pretty damn close to perfect. and it's nice to see a TASed SotN run that actually finishes the game instead of just getting to the final save point. 9.5/9.5 however, this run isn't as glitched as some people make it out to be. Alucard isn't warping to wherever the hell he wants. he's only going to an adjacent room. he's only ignoring semi-important goals. the severity of the edge travels is comparable to zips in a Mega Man game, not to the warping tricks in the GBA Castlevanias. if a larger-length Alucard run were to be made, most tricks should still be fair game, like skipping Richter. the main, and really only, thing that would change would be defeating the 5 inverted castle bosses for the Vlad relics. i'd prefer that this be the only Alucard run, though. a full map run won't show up here on the grounds of being boring. look at the full map CotM submission Ziggy submitted. a best time Richter run should be coming up very soon, and an All Boss Richter run could be interesting, at the risk of Hydro Storm spam.

the differences between this and the previous run are minimal, but noticable. moreso in the entertainment department. i can't complain about anything. 8/8
