This video is disturbing, from the weird Gensis music to that creepy old lady at the start plus the white haired girl enemies that are IN PIECES. yes vote

Today, I was watching the SDA run of Zelda II for a second time while dozing and saying to myself, "man, I wish there was another Zelda II run to watch. What a great game." Thank you for obliging. Bombay Sapphire and Cranberry Juice -- That's my drink.

Great run; Mega Man 6 will always be my favorite since it is the first I owned, played, and beat. For a long time, I thought that you needed flight to get past flame man's oil pits, but you just jumped over them!

Brilliant work, I love this game. I will 99% vote yes, but I haven't finished watching it yet. I believe that in the room with 5 slugs, you only have to kill 2 to open the door, but this might only apply to the second game. I wish I had more information on that. Are you doing Star Tropics 2 as well? EDIT: Yes vote. How did you skip the ending like that?

I love how you used MATLAB, especially considering how close to home that is for me since I just did a liniar algebra project last week. Did you get a free version of it on your computer or something? Watching this later.

Very nice improvement, especially against the final boss. At this point I assumed she had to be killed with bombs.

Wow! An improvement on this run already! Very nice optimization, and the final fight was amazing.

Just thought I'd add my praise to this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I love the submission text as well.

I don't think that a run should be published if it has faster "game" time but slower real time, period. This is just an opinion however and no one cares. In this specific instance, getting a "perfect" in-game time would apparently, if my understanding of what I read is correct, require continuous use of the pause screen. That's completely unfeasable. Approaching perfection with a real time run is a lot more feasable. Plus the real-time lengths of these movies increase and decrease respectively. As for publishing the run alongside the other ones, I think we have too many runs for this game as it is. I don't think that the argument that we already have a lot of runs, therefore one more can't hurt is a good one.

As usual we have the argument of sacrificing some speed to showcase an interesting game feature or something like that. For this particular run I believe this is something of a non-issue because the real-time run has plenty of technical entertainment as well. I have not actually watched this run and I won't vote on it. I don't like to discredit anyone's hard work either, but I don't think this run is for this site considering what we already have.

I knew of the glitch since you mentioned it in the first movie, Dave, but I never imagined it could manipulate so many things in the memory (return locations, spells, stats, etc.) I thought it was just items. As such this run is quite awesome from a glitchiness standpoint. Actually watching though, it was hard to understand and boring at times, and skips a lot of interesting "normal" parts so I definitely advocate publishing alongside the other movie. This continues to be one of my favorite RPG TASes on the site, and I hope that you will shockingly improve both of the runs. I also appreciate the detailed submission text. Without it this movie would be excrutiating to watch.

The submission text definitely helped me understand the movie, although I forgot at first which side you were playing.

Demon Sword completed as fast as possible. This film is faster than the original Curtmack record by about 66 seconds. In the first two levels, I found a way to avoid losing momentum when hitting trees and to jump over high walls without hitting them. With the first few bosses, I used the sword for all 20 hits to kill the boss as fast as possible. The third boss (2-1) is different because he can hide. I let him jump a couple times in order to manipulate him out of hiding for some time, which is slower in the long run. On boss 6, it looks like I'm wasting darts, but the game reads the darts as hitting even though they go through the boss graphically. The final boss teleports away every time it is attacked. It's impossible to find a truly optimal route because manipulating it to teleport closer one time may result in it teleporting much further away another time. Therefore, I have to use a suitable sub-optimal route. Better? I like the game and the movie. Yes vote.

Haven't watched yet, so I'll vote later. Color would be better imo if possible, but sometimes i think the sleek black and white is more attractive than some mesh of red and blue. If realistic colors could be possible without breaking the rules of the site I'd be all for it. Is there any such rom, and if so will it sync with this run?

Get over yourself; is the goal of this site really important enough to make you a hero by voting no to everything? Voting no because you think a run is boring is fine, but doing it just to be different/special/get attention is immature and a waste of time. Also did it ever occur to you that for some people speed might equal entertainment? It seems that you believe thinking the opposite is more enlightened, but I submit that both opinions are equally valid.

I would like to applaud you for making the run in spite of everything. Hold onto it because it's still an accomplishment, it just may not be accepted on this site. Don't let this discourage you from future TASes either.

Holy God is what I said when I saw the topic, and continued to say as I watched the movie up to the end. I noticed improvements all over and they were brilliant. I think everyone else has said/will say what I want to. I look forward to the next version.

A lot of the things that are being mentioned are subjective, which is why there is a voting system. What may be awful to someone may be fascinating to someone else. As for this game itself, I vote no because the path is obvious and the movie itself doesn't show anything special and it is, in my opinion, fairly boring. It's not irritating though, and I don't think pausing to change weapons takes away from a movie, I think in a way it adds to it. Also, to say that a movie should not be accepted because the game is not as well known is bad medicine. The supposed audience of this site is the general public, but don't we end up attracting almost exclusively hardcore nerds anyway? I think that a handful of games are liked based mostly on popularity. But I digress. I vote no for bad game choice; the player did at least a decent job.

It only saves time in one part in the entire run (though I'm not sure if it was due to sliding at all), stages 4-7 are not improved even though they were slid through.[/quote] I'm still not fully clear on this as xipo's comments and later post seem to conflict on it. If sliding doesn't save time anywhere else, or at all, I think it should be avoided in the next run, but I still think this run is publish-worthy.

I enjoyed it in the same way that I enjoyed the previous movie, and this is an improvement so I voted yes. Sliding was annoying, but i can understand that it saves time. I thought the cliff improvement was cool, if it was what I thought it was.

Loved it..but I didn't know what to look at 90% of the time. 2nd boss fight is absolutely the best part.

I couldn't understand what was going on most of the time and I had it high speed a lot, but I do enjoy the boss owning tricks and of course the final dungeon was great. I vote yes as it is well done and apparently does beat the SDA run..I was going to ask about that. We finally have a TAS of this game. Now all we need is FF4.
