The question is: Can I submit my new All Tracks TAS to the submission page for an overview since it beats the currently published movie by 3 minutes and 48 seconds, or should I leave it in my User Files?

I wanted to ask because I was unsure and I didn't want to go ahead and submit it to the submissions page, but I did make a new Top Gear 2 TAS for All Tracks that beats the currently published movie by 3 Minutes & 48 Seconds with a final time of 2:15:59.96 Thanks, Technickle (I was trying to figure out why the message wasn't going through, now I understand ... I believe)

Track: Egypt - Aswan https://i.gyazo.com/e05bc22f6386cfc0c97fbce247403f1f.mp4 Managed to bounce back from the wall here, it's this sequence that seems to work, otherwise, I'm hitting the rock formation next to the wall https://i.gyazo.com/0ddb0748f79f046fb1df8e4ffc6d18a8.png for the correct inputs, not finishing the race quite yet, but that's how it's working for now ...

It's been almost 2 years since anything has been posted here, and I am wanting to keep this discussion alive since I've created TAS'es for this game "all tracks in 2:19:48.15" I am creating a new TAS that hopefully crushes that time by about 8 1/2 mins maybe 9 mins. I am right now trying to solve an issue currently residing on Wall Glitches, namely on Aswan, the 2nd track in Eygpt that I am currently on. However, the issue lies with being able to make the car hit the Grey wall, get stuck, not hit the rock that is semi-connected to the wall, and finish the race within 9-ish, to 10 seconds overall. Doing this would make the run almost 3 mins faster than the current published TAS. There are other tracks that I would like to discuss as well, but 1 track at a time for now, so it's not confusing and complicated. Here is a Gyazo GIF that I took trying to get a visualization of what I'm trying to accomplish: https://i.imgur.com/BTy5PoF.mp4 (Image linked through Imgur) Here is the password with the current upgrades being used if anybody wants to help test this: J26P G6YD QPDP 28(HM ?87NN (Password is for anybody that wants to use it, no passwords will be used in this TAS I'm making).

Are you doing the special move on frame 1729? because if so, I tested that and it didn't work for me for some reason, which is why 1734 did work. Also in what way are you able to manipulate the enemy from the glider, other than early special move, while waiting for him to drop to the ground, because I thought that enemy has extra health, is the movement stopping at a certain distance ... or? Because I'm honestly confused. I couldn't kill that enemy without first attacking.

I looked over the comparison video that you posted, and now I understand that it can be done in 5 frames instead of 13. I also was looking at how you were performing the move and you were facing to the left instead of the right, I can't for the life of me understand what button it is that makes Cornelius face left instead of facing right. I'm also not sure, to what I suppose that might be faster, than just the regular way. I also tested that instead of frame 1729, I've been able to get frame 1728, but I noticed that it requires an extra Right press for 1 frame, & still having the 13 frame implemented, but since now that it can be done in 5 frames instead of 13 frames, it most likely will be overruled. Moreover, when I do the move for 5 frames, now it only works on frame 1734 unless I'm doing something wrong there.

I checked the SNES Games forum and I couldn't find anybody discussing anything about this game at all, on any of the 11 pages it gave me. This game is a Side-Scrolling Beat'em Up Game, and nobody has talked about in a relevant TAS situation, so I decided that it would be wise to start a conversation about the game, and see if anybody wants to talk about it. If there is a forum page for this game that I don't know about and or have not found, someone please direct me to it, thanks! Anyway ... I made a TAS for any% for this game which beats it in 22:01.91, there is currently a discussion happening over at the submission tab for the game as well. btw, the only reason I didn't start a submission thread talking about Stone Protectors is because I thought that nobody would be interested in such a "fad-like" game about troll dolls.

Responding with a reply, using: "post a reply" Okay so, I guess that wasn't the right way to reply, so I will respond again in the correct format, sorry about that. anyway... Q. Spikestuff wrote: Why did you scream at the first enemy when it's literally faster just to knock them out without a special? A. I wrote: Knocking out the first enemy without a special will still lead to having 2 enemies on screen, therefore since I have 3 enemies on screen, the screen has been scrolled, I kill multiple enemies at once in 1 go.

Edit: Answering the Question: 1. The first screen on Snowy Village has 3 enemies, the reason I say 3 enemies is because the screen can be scrolled past the window guy, and thus revealing more enemies. 2. The screen with the popsicle and the enemy with a baton-like weapon also has a regular guard on the left side as well, I kill both with a musical move there. 3. The screen with the cake, the guy in the window has two enemies approaching from the left and right side of the screen. 4. The guys with the masks have protective features, meaning that in later stages I have to hit them first, then use the special move to kill them off, otherwise, they will still have lingering health. 5. The reason I use my musical move and miss sometimes on hitting two enemies at once is because I leave two enemies left, which allows me to kill both at the same time, this can be seen on "Beach Party" & Approaching the Castle Stages. Using the samurai sword will knock them down after the third hit, thus, sometimes off-screen.

I do agree with you on your point about the 2 players being more interesting than a 1 player scenario. However, I don't want to put myself in a situation where I am not aiming for a 2 player run. For the purpose of this submission, I only want to compare to a 1 player run if that is acceptable and or allowed in this context.

The entire point of this TAS is to be suboptimal, not for speed. Yeah, it's cool that menuing can be done fast, but the entire point is to be 'slow', not fast. If that is the point then I might as well make an actual AlienCar% TAS which does aim for speed, however, here it doesn't matter.

It seems like the routing choices are solely dependant on RNG with the ghosts especially on level 2 and level 3 from the demonstrations provided, maybe I'm not being as observant enough but that seems to be the case. I didn't want to eat the ghost either because it was blocking me from collecting the dots as well, so I went around. This I would assume can be avoided but not sure if it's the way the stage is played throughout. Making my way to the edge of the screen and wrapping around chasing the other player seems like it wouldn't matter since the corresponding player would have already eaten the dots anyway, on certain levels. I stayed static because I had to wait for the other player to finish as well, yes, I could have eaten the dots but I figured that the Red Ghost would have caught up on the blue level, by me going Left, Right, Up, Left for the dots. I do this because I thought that possibly it wouldn't have mattered anyway because each player has to eat each dot, and by finishing at the same time by eating the ending dots, I thought that might of been faster. Is this run un-optimized ... eh I personally wouldn't think so, I mean it's probable that something could be faster, and a 13:00 or a 12:50 is in the margin for possibility, but for now, I think it's okay personally, and if someone would like to do this faster, you are welcome to do so.

the time save comes from using 2 players. My previous submission only used 1 player which got a time of 20:25

I didn't use Co-op because I figured that 1P would suffice. I tested the 2P variation a little while ago today, and noticed that the screen might constantly move up and down, when sharing space between two players, and sometimes the game would desync, not constantly, but sometimes when sharing a 2P mode.

Sorry for being MIA for almost 2 days after posting this, but unfortunately that's how it has to be sometimes, which is okay I think? Probably not since it's the internet ... Oh well. Anyway, I agree with everyones critiques and concerns about this new "improved" (if that's what you want to call it) TAS movie. 1. Yes I know now that I can submit a replacement file (which btw I didn't know of until told about so don't yell at me for that please). 2. If this gets rejected it's not that big of a deal to be honest, I am honestly only doing this because I think it's a fun thing to do when I am able to. Don't get me wrong I enjoy making TAS'es and yes I make bad ones so people can yell at me over the internet. 3. If I feel as if I need to improve this with little to no margin for error then I will do so "eventually" (hopefully that's okay). thanks for reading this! - Technickle

It's been done since August 23rd 2019, but I haven't had the chance up until now to submit this notable improvement. The previous movie of 2:23:40.99 that I submitted was done on August 3rd 2019. Shortly there after, on August 23rd 2019 (2 weeks 6 days) I made a notable improvement.

I don't use any cheat codes during this run, plus the super speed cheat needs to be modified into the game by changing the values of how fast the car travels. 2 Player Mode to me feels a lot more laggier, but, I am pretty sure the same results could be performed either way.

I couldn't get any cars to push me for extra speed, which might be the case in this scenario. I copied the same inputs used on your bk2 edit and I couldn't get below 2:34. This makes me curious because it seems that creating a situation in which the cars will catch up to you, and bumps you up in speed will create a lower time overall. The only problem is that, I don't know of any way to manipulate the cars to do certain actions such as that. If there is a RNG manipulation that I am unaware of, then it could possibly be implemented into a new TAS in the future, but, RNG manipulation needs to be accounted for on all the races that are done aka 47 in this instance. Gyazo Picture of the best time I got without car push using the same inputs from the BK2 edit: https://i.gyazo.com/9be6011466a4d1c3ff8bca8548a2585c.png 11,146 frames [ adjusted for name input ] [ 664/632 ] = [32 extra frames ; = <- -> 11,114 frames] [time calculated = 3:05.40] [rerecord count = 658] @ 60FPS Frames Calculator Used: [ https://www.omnicalculator.com/other/frames-to-timecode ] [ This is was for testing purposes not for an actual attempt at completing the entire game ]

It technically is still 100% because the upgrades is part of that definition. If you have a better reasoning then I am down for it. (not trying be mean or anything) just genuinely curious about this.

While the RTA Rules do state that I need to complete: "all races" This category Allows wall glitches, which means I can use the glitches to skip races, and use them to my advantage. This category is: 100%, New Game, Hard, Glitched the rules for that category state: "The 100% Category requires the player to play all 64 races in a row from start to finish. ---> *BUT* - <---- * ---> The category 100% Wall Glitches is to beat the game as fast as possible, while using unintended mechanics to finish the race faster." *Which means Wall Glitches are Allowed and therefore you can skip races with unintended mechanics * while gathering the following required upgrades: - Best Engine - Best Wet and Dry Tires - Best Gearbox - Best Nitro -Armor - Front and Side (Optional) The movie does maximize all the upgrades: Best Engine Best Wet & Dry Tires Best Gearbox Best Nitro (upgrading the car protection is not necessary, as it does not make the car faster, it only gives more protection to the car) but since this is a TAS, I wouldn't need to use any of these.

Sometimes this game makes no sense, and it's weird that the game gave the upper hand when you turned down that miniature hill, the game says no speed gained and no speed lost, but still 2 milliseconds faster, which doesn't make sense, and I know the turn to the left can't make that much of a difference.

The in-game timer in this game is very off and inaccurate. The chances are very subtle, but, I've had races where I finish with a: "33" (example being given here) and have gotten a 30 after the names appear with the other racers, so trusting the in-game timer is big mistake, not by me, but the game it'self.

Thanks, I really put myself down sometimes, especially when someone else thinks I can't do something perfect the 1st time. I am a human being, and I DO make mistakes, even if those mistakes are obvious ones.

Sorry about forgetting pressing start at "stage clear". You are right I should of known all of this, since I do speedrun this game normally. Sorry that I've disappointed you in every way possible, and I shall take my losses, as the worst TASer of all time.
