I discovered the best way to use the trick on my SNES version so I wanted to test this way on genesis but it doesn't work so I investigated further and discovered more things : The only max speed I got is like Memory: 765-835 (with her lua). you begin by accelerating to reach the max speed without the trick and the first frame (on tastudios) where you have 780, you delete all your B (acceleration) inputs on 13 frames. Then you have to press B during one frame 4 times to get 765 at the 15th frame and 835 at the 16th frame( 4 frames before Memory's test ). After reaching this speed, you hold B normally. The thing to find now is where to put these 4 B inputs to have the biggest X position on a specific frame after reaching this max speed. I let Grogir finding this out.

I think the most interresting TASes for this game are a no branch TAS and a maximum score TAS. pozzum beats by 8.015 seconds Randil's TAS for the max score. FractalFusion doesn't have a max score since he collects all treasures. then I need to compare The8bitbeast's and pozzum's TASes.

I think in this situation, that a no branch (any%) have to be done without the tutorial since credits are reachable without it and a "all levels" category which includes tutorial and extra world too. Compared to Private Eye (and a lot of Atari 2600 games), Private Eye is considered as 5 different games since you are only able to choose one of them separatly. In the case of Toki Tori, all level's strats of the any% submission weren't changed compared to the "all levels" submission ! But in this game, since you need to do perfect (without any damage) levels which is not done in the any%, then it can be considered as a full completion and both accepted.

Hello, I tested the Altirra emulator ( http://www.virtualdub.org/altirra.html ) for Atari 5200, Atari 400/800, and Atari 600XL/800XL (Atari800 and Atari++ from the Potential Emulators page ( http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/PotentialEmulators.html ) seem to be abandonned). There is also a test suite available on the emulator page. For me, it seems like they are enough accurate to be implemented in BizHawk and be acceptable on TASvideos if someone would like to. Here are my results of the test suite for these cores : * Atari 5200 core has 1/47 fail. * Atari 400/800 core has 3/57 fails * Atari 600XL/800XL has 2/57 fails.

I don't think it's very useful, the BSNES mouse isn't done for casual playing actually. You need to understand that the position you take at a certain frame is the move you will put in your mouse from is previous position so in real time it's very hard to play with it. EDIT: you could try to enable the option "Limit Analog Change Sensitivity" in "SNES -> Controller Configuation" even if I don't think that will fixe your problem.

The SNES one has a few differences though, the route can't be the same as it has a lot more apples, also some obstacles can be passed on SNES and not on Genesis (like dogs in the hotel), the opposite is probably also true. Basically in Genesis version you can never heal yourself from level 7 until the end
Yes and on the SNES one, if you finish a level with 0 HP (1 hit and you die) next level you'll have an extra HP which is not possible on this version. There is also a lot more of pot in the 3rd level on SNES. Now that I know differences, I know I can't say something on the quality just by seeing it ^^. Meh vote.

Wow, I was afraid that it is the SNES version..... But I'm very curious about the strats and the use of HPs because I don't do any of them

Hello, Not a priority but when you create a TAS of a SNES PAL game with the BSNES core, the length calculated by BizHawk takes as a basis the framerate of 60 fps instead of 50 fps. 2 games with the problem : Tintin in Tibet (E) (M4).smc SHA1 F93338ABC37FCF77E68C4C8C1CBAB9EFCA32B5B4 Adventures of Tintin, The - Prisoners of the Sun (E) (M4).smc SHA1 C5A18D06AA1E411C73CD97572716F8D712BCCB8A

I think the best to do is making the best 1rst level, show it to everyone then everyone that wants try to improve the first level then we take inputs for the fastest level 2 etc... Because we all know that resyncing this game is very very difficult ! I won't be able to resync if i have an improvement somewhere if it's not on the last stage.

There was confusion in regards to how timing works: I am timing from input start to credits. Ending input early provides no advantages.
Sorry but where exactly the credits is considered ? First frame after the loading time between the last level and the credits or when the boss take his last damage or at the first letters of the credits ?

on BizHawk by RAMWatch, I see that the difficulty address changes to hard even if we don't see it on screen (address : 0x0016 on BizHawk).

Ok, you can save 1 frame by pressing Right and Start on the same frame to change the difficulty but at the 3rd level, the movie desyncs... Since I'm not on the good emulator and I don't want to be added as co-author just for that, I let Archanfel tries it out.

Amazing run, yes vote ! If needed, the movie syncs on BizHawk 2.3 without changing inputs and I can upload it. Some inputs by BizHawk seems to do not be used by the game (during loading times) so maybe it can be improved on BizHawk.

Bonjour, je sais que le sujet date d'il y a presque 2 ans mais je voulais savoir si le projet était abandonné ou si gamerretro2 est encore sur le TAS ?
