The autoselector takes an inefficient path when choosing NONE for the demos (both middle and first boss). Can you do it faster yourself just before the demo? The first boss: the right one seems to spawn first. Can you have the familiar blast him once before frying the left one that drops down? Can you jump to start hitting the left boss earlier?
You're probably right about all of these. I'll definately test them when I get back to the run. Thanks for the feedback. I often overlook stuff. =)
I'm curious about your new idea of course, but I guess I'll have to wait.
It's nothing about this game. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=34385

I can agree with that too. Just went through the list of NES games, and here's some ones that would be tough to beat: Castlevania Contra Ghosts & Goblins Bionic Commando Kid Icarus - I watched the avi the other day, and it looks like it doesn't even use the 60FPS patch... Ninja Gaiden - all of them

I had a crazy idea that just might work. From the Guidelines page:
Competition is welcome. * Many players compete with themselves, trying to improve their own movies until there's nothing to improve. This is good. * To prevent the players becoming too content with their plays, it's good to challenge existing movies. Competition breeds perfection.
Here's my challenge for any bored time attackers. Take a starred movie and improve it. Choose one that isn't yours, preferably. There's a couple of reasons to do this: *Improve the quality of movies on this site. *Imrpove your skills as a time attacker. *Push the limits. I'm taking Rockman 2. I now know how good Morimoto and FinalFighter really are. I've been working on the first SCREEN of Bubble Man's level for a couple of hours now. I am up 8 frames, though. =) This will not be easy for most of these movies. I wouldn't pick the SMB1 run unless you are crazy.

I'm guessing like how (I'm guessing they do it this way) Phil and Genisto, or how Arc and I were doing it. Play a little, then see who's got the fastest time to a certain point. Send the movie file over AIM or IRC or whatever. The other person sees if they can improve it. If not, keep it, and rinse/repeat.

I think Josh is going to win this, although Walker Boh likes to TA those weird cartoon/TV games.

Finally, Metroid with 1 item. The whole using door glitches to skip over half the game was amazing.
Thanks, but I think my 100% movie shows off a lot more glitches. Anyways, I'll second(or third, or whatever) these: Rockman 1&2 Super Mario Bros. 1&2 Rygar (short version, I guess)

Truncated, Blip, Nitsuja, and Jyzero, for reasons mentioned above. Arc for helping me with Metroid, both directly and indirectly (watching his movies).

I'd say Terimakasih's Super Metroid run. That thing is full of fun and useful glitches. http://tasvideos.org/queue.cgi?id=594

I agree with Rockman 2 and Zelda 2. I'd also like to mention Sleepz's Zelda. The planning involved with that was crazy, and I was following it constantly.

How's that for variety? [edit]How could I forget Metroid Metal?

I think difficulty could be seen in a few different ways. Some games are very difficult to plan routes for. Zelda games would be an example. Others drive the players to really rip the game apart and see how it works, and how it calculates things. Dragon Warrior would be a prime example. I'm sure the Rockman games were very difficult, as well, with finding the best ways to use the various glitches, as well as performing them. I think I remember Bisqwit saying that they had to be pretty much frame perfect just to work.

That was just weird. If you put the speed up to 800% on "The Girl" the guy looks like he's gonna go crazy. =P

Phil and Genisto's Super Castlevania IV run. I really enjoyed this movie. Insanely fast boss fights, nice tricks, and very well played all around. Nitsuja's Sparkster run. Even though I'd never played this game before, this run was just really fun to watch. The speed of this game and the pace of the run is crazy. Blechy's Umihara Kawase run. I can't even reach half the exits used in this movie, much less think about doing some of the tricks.
